2019 Epicon Summary

MOONTON Epicon 2019: The Future Begins Global Conference was held yesterday, on July 18 2019, and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang developer has once again managed to stir up the entire gaming community of the world with big reveals and announcements. For those of you who followed this event from home, here’s what delightful stuff will once again originate from China and wash over the whole world in the next year or so…

Held at Connexion Conference & Event Centre, in Nexus, Kuala Lumpur, Epicon 2019 was visited by people from China, Malaysia, Singapore, and many more and all joyfully participated in the exquisite celebration of the Mobile Legends regalia. The global growth, critical acclaim, and huge commercial success of this game is what made everything possible, and it is why the CEO and co-founder of MOONTON, Justin Yuan, thanked everybody, especially partnering developers, and opened the event with the following promise to players:

“Our global team is constantly adapting to market changes, and improving according to the latest advances in technology so we can provide our players with more engaging and localised gaming experiences, and our partners more fruitful and meaningful collaborative work and results” – Justin Yuan

But, all formalities aside, what really delighted everybody was, firstly, the major announcement and the official confirmation of the first ever Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship, which is set to be held this November 11th to 17th, at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The MLBB first ever International championship was warmly welcomed by Syed Saddiq bin Syed, who is the Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, and he had these kind words in return:

“Esports in Malaysia has tremendous potential to be a million-dollar industry that significantly boosts the country’s socioeconomic development, and we are grateful to MOONTON for helping to place us on the world map by selecting Malaysia as the site of its inaugural Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship. This is a remarkable milestone that will definitely enhance Malaysia’s position as an esports powerhouse that attracts the most talented gamers from across the world.” – Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia.

Among other spokesmen was Dato Anath S. Nathan, who is the president of eSports Malaysia, and the prize pool for the first ML international tournament, dubbed as M1, was revealed to be surpassing $250,000 so far. The competition will see 16 international teams from more than 14 world countries who will match up, toe-to-toe, in a glorious event which is to be streamed live, online, in its entirety, in November 2019.

However, maybe the main announcement on MOONTON’s Epicon 2019 conference was news regarding Mobile Legends: Bang Bang 2.0, which gave an insight about the upcoming, highly anticipated game. It is to be entirely done in an upgraded engine, with faster loading time, start-up speed, with high-def characters, beautiful modeling, overhauled UI, improved Map, a higher FPS rate, reduced lag and AFK, and, of course, NEW HEROES. MLBB has, thus far, surpassed 500 million registered users worldwide, so this next installation is expected to expand the boundaries of the MOBA genre for mobile gaming.
