0

The first Arena of Valor World cup finished the middle day of its group phase, and we’re here for a short report. Remind you, this world cup takes place in Los Angeles, United States with a prize pool of $ 550,000 USD for grabs. The main event will take place in the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on July 27th and 28th. Currently, there are twelve teams, which are sorted into four groups based on seeding. The group stage is played by single round robin, which means every team plays with other three. Single matches are best of three, and top two teams per group will advance to the quarterfinal. If two teams have the same record, ties will be broken by a tiebreaker match. If three teams have the same record, top two teams will be broken by game record. After that, teams will play a tiebreaker match.

In the Group A IT City Bacon from Thailand defeated Tamago team from Singapore with 2:1 Currently, Thai team is in lead in the group stage with 4-1, followed by Singapore (1-2) and North America (0-2). Tomorrow will be Day D for the most of the teams since it will be the final day of the group stage. Some of the favorites will have to fight for survival, like Thai Wildcard, while some favorites justified their status by making a quick work of their opponents. The Dawn Raiders seem to be already fought their way into the Knock Out Stage, followed by Korea and Thailand. Both Taipei teams and Singapore are still in the game, although there are chances that their competition will overcome them. The rest of the teams either disappointed or justified their underdog status. Still no trace of the Cinderella story where some underdog breaks through. We’ll see how this group stage will unwind, and then we’ll continue to report from the knockout phase of this exciting tournament.
