AoV Butterfly - SUMMARY


Butterfly, The Death’s Whisper, is a poor orphan girl who got trained in the mercenary order and sent to protect the Astrid Rose, heir to the Rose family. She is nimble and skilled with the sword and according to the story, the word “flee” is not in her vocabulary.

Lvl priority: Sword Propel

Play: enter fights only if you see a clear path to scoring some kills/assists. It is imperative your team score kill while you are involved to get your abilities reset. Do not enter fights before you reach level 4. Crimson Banner and Fenrir’s Tooth are core items.)

ABILITIES


Passive

(Cooldown) Assassin

Kills and assists will resets cooldowns of all her abilities. It lets you use your abilities much more often, just keep going against low health foes.


(Physical, Speed) Whirlwind

Cooldown: 6 sec

Butterfly swings her blade in a full arc at nearby enemies, dealing 200/240/280/320/360/400 (+65% of AD) physical damage. Immediately removes and becomes immune to movement speed reduction for a short period. Also increases Butterfly's movement speed by 50% for 1 second.

-The range is 500 units.

2nd Skill
(Physical, Buff) Sword Propel

Butterfly throws her sword, dealing 350/400/450/500/550/600 (+125% of AD) physical damage to enemies in its path. Also increases her attack speed by 50% for 3 seconds.

-The range is 500 units.

-It’s a great skill early on when you start jungling.

Ultimate
(Physical) Backstab

Cooldown: 13.5/12.3/11.1 sec

Butterfly blinks behind the enemy with the lowest HP (prioritizes heroes) and stabs the target, dealing 500/725/950 (+135% of AD) physical damage, and increasing her damage reduction by 50% (decreases rapidly over time). Also marks the enemy target and reduces the target's movement speed by 30% for 3 seconds. When the mark expires, Butterfly recovers HP equivalent to 20% of the damage dealt to the target.

-The range is 700 units.

-A good skill that gets you right where you need to be. If the enemy is fleeing it puts you in front of him. Great for finishing off enemies.

-No need to save it, as soon as the enemy dies you’ll have another to cast, like all of her abilities.

-Can be used to run away from an unfavorable fight.

PRO'S AND CON'S


PRO'S:

-Skills have no mana cost. That means you can spam your skills freely and never have to worry about mana. It reduces the possibility of a downtime.

-Butterfly is a burst damage dealing,  real assassin, hero. Get in for the kill and move on to the next target instantly.

-Her ultimate even choose the right target ( the one with the lowest health) for you.

CON'S:

-No escape ability. If the fight is not going in your favor, well, tough luck. You are going to die. There is no running away with Butterfly.

-Limited chase potential. After you use the ultimate, if the enemy is out of range there is no way to catch up. You will have to take care when comboing your ultimate with Whirlwind.

TIPS FOR PLAYING


Leveling skills: Sword Propel should be upgraded first.

Laning: Butterfly should never stay in lanes. She is an excellent jungler and a poor laner, so the choice is obvious. Take Punish talent and go to the jungle. Because she doesn't have to worry about mana you should spam your skills all the time while you are jungling, as it will speed up the farming a lot. When you get to level 4, go and gank the lanes using your ultimate as an opener. Follow up by slowing the enemy with Whirlwind and Propel Sword for faster normal attacks to chop the enemy quicker.

Team Fights: Like most other assassins you should never initiate fights. Stay back in the brush and, when the fight begins, target the enemy marksmen and mages. Be cautious if you are using your ultimate to initiate fights if you are not careful it could teleport you near their tanks or warriors with less health and then you are in a pickle. Either aim your ultimate on the very edge, or target manually. After killing your first enemy keep spamming your skills and attacks for chain kills. Chain of attacks is always the same, ultimate to get into your target, Whirlwind to slow them down, and Propel Sword to chop off your opponents.
