Aov Ignis - SUMMARY
Level priority: Fire Crash is your primary ability.
Play: Playing Ignis is all about one thing, zoning opponents by chaining abilities. Start with Fire Crash, this will place a mark on the target, follow it up with Rain of Fire and if both connect, the target will be stunned and Fire Crash will reset, from this point on spam Fire Crash and if Holy Embers is ready, use it in between.

(Buff) Sacred Flame
Fire Crash places a Mark of the Flame on targets hit and enhances Ignis' next ability directed at marked targets. The mark lasts 3 seconds, and when the mark is consumed by an ability, Ignis is healed for 100(+5xLVL)(+15% of AP) HP and the cooldown for Fire Crash is reset.
(Magic, Area DMG) Fire Crash
Cooldown: 3 sec
Mana Cost: 30 (+4 x skill lvl)
Ignis forms the Sacred Flame into an orb and launches it, dealing 300/340/380/420/460/500(+40% of AP) magic damage to the first enemy hit and nearby enemies in a cone behind it. Also increases Ignis’ movement speed by 40% for 1 second. If marked targets are hit, then Ignis gains a shield that absorbs 300/400/500/600/700/800 (+65% of AP) damage for 2 seconds.
-The range is 800 units.
-Best way to apply the Sacred Flame to the enemy.
-Use the speed boost to escape the enemies that are already marked.
(Area DMG, Control) Rain of Fire
Cooldown: 10/9.4/8.8/8.2/7.6/7 sec
Mana Cost: 75 (+5 x skill lvl)
Ignis summons a Rain of Fire at the target area for 3 seconds, dealing 135 (+45% of AP) magic damage every second to enemies in the area and reducing their movement speed by 30% for 2 seconds. Marked targets are stunned for 0.75 seconds.
-The range is 900 units.
-The duration of the spell is 3.5 seconds. If enemies don't leave Rain of Fire area, you land a Mark of the Flame and proc the stun in one use.
(Area DMG, True) Holy Embers
Cooldown: 24/20/16 sec
Mana Cost: 130 (+10 x skill lvl)
Ignis creates a Sacred Fire formation that deals 700 (+90% of AP) magic damage after 1 second to enemy heroes in the target area. Marked targets take 800 (+100% of AP) true damage.
-The range is 900 units.
-Has a huge area of effect, when you center it on the enemy he has a low chance of escaping. Important notice is that the Marked foes take True damage.
PRO'S AND CON'S
-Rain of Fire is a great cc ability. Even if the foe doesn’t have the Mark on himself, he can still easily get stunned. Foes that try to avoid being stunned will need to reposition, and if they decide to ignore it then they are truly in trouble.
-His ultimate Holy Embers have a huge area of impact and it deals True damage if the enemy has the Mark. You can easily detonate the whole team with it.
-Squishy. Not much health or armor like any other mage.
-No reliable means of escape either, Fire Crash is the only ability able to help you escape if the enemy already has the Mark.
-Needs a lot of mana at the start. At the beginning of the round you’ll have trouble recharging mana, and in prolonged fights, you’ll run out of it quickly. Having an item or two for mana management is a must.
120-second cooldown: Teleports your hero a short distance.
Ability Power +4.2 - Magic Pierce +2.4
Ability Power +2.4 - Magic Life Steal +1%
Ability Power +2.4 - Cooldown Speed +0.7%
TIPS FOR PLAYING
Leveling skills: Fire Crash is your first choice.
Laning: His most reliable means of damage dealing is Fire Crash. You’ll need to level it up first, don’t fall into the trap of going for Rain of Fire. It may seem a reasonable choice because of the cooldown reduction, but you’ll lose a lot of DPS this way. Poke the enemy with Fire Crash, and use the minion wave to hit him with the splash it makes. Don’t try to target the hero, target the minions instead. They are stationary most of the time, and the splash radius is pretty big so it makes the hits much easier. Harass your enemies whenever you can, use Rain of Fire on yourself when they dive you, it should give you enough time to escape. You can even hit them with Fire Crash to get the shield and bonus speed. Eventually, you should make the enemy leave for the fountain and lose EXP and gold. Don’t try to chase and finish off enemies, Ignis is not that type of hero.
Team Fights: This is his playground. Most of the abilities Ignis uses are AOE, and some of them have a rather large area of impact. First of all, stand at a safe distance and poke the enemies with Fire Crash. When the fight begins, cast Rain of Fire on the largest enemy group, followed immediately by Holy Embers. This should stun the enemies long enough for Holy Embers to activate, not giving them any chance of escaping, and as a bonus, the enemies will be marked, so True damage should apply. Use Fire Crash right after Holy Embers and keep spamming it whenever it recharges. This combo has quite the impact if you execute it right.
