How to defend against air-strikes in Art of War 3?
Well, a major part of the solution is the Air Defense tower. Equipped with Hellgates Missile this structure is good for taking down Helicopters and Jet fighters, to an extent for heavy bombers. The bombers are a really resilient target for Air Defense, not only they have a lot of armor and the fact Hellgates Missiles are dealing somewhat reduced damage to them, but also once they deliver the payload it is time to go home and thus there is no time for towers to deal damage to them. Indirectly Bombers pose another danger for Air Defense, and that is: it is easy for them to destroy Power Plants, and without energy, Air Defense is useless. This means you should always be ready to use Boosts for air strikes. Either Air-raid warning or Emergency Measures in case the Power Plants are destroyed.
Air Defense upgrade priority is as follows:
- Targeting System
- Hellgates Missile
- Anti-Aircraft complex
- Building Construction
- Hardened Ceramic Armor
Most effective against air units.
A Stationary Air Defense system is designed to effectively destroy enemy aviation at long range.
