Assassin’s Creed III is coming to Switch after all

Switch exclusives tend to be one of the worst kept secrets of all time. First, it was Spyro Reignited Trilogy whose Switch edition became known in a matter of hours, and now it’s revealed that the third iteration of Assassin’s Creed series he’s coming to Nintendo console as well, this time in remaster edition. But this time Ubisoft itself is guilty of the leak.

Similar to Spyro, there have been many rumors about Assassin’s Creed III Remastered for the Switch, but nothing of it was officially announced. We have seen the first indication of AC III Switch release on a German retail listing, where it’s been mentioned that an “Assassin’s Creed compilation” is planned to arrive on Switch and other consoles. Following that announcement, many other retailers listed the Assassin’s Creed III Remaster as it will come for Switch too.

Assassins Creed III Remastered For Switch

Nevertheless, the official press release from the Ubisoft which arrived last week quite clearly stated that the Assassin’s Creed III Remastered would arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, without mentioning any Switch version. We thought the honor of announcing Assassin’s Creed III for Switch would be delegated to Nintendo itself and that it would happen during the upcoming Direct, but it also seemed that a Switch version was out of the question at least for now.

But suddenly it all changed. A Twitter user @AwesomePlatter first noticed that the game is available on the Ubisoft Club website. Additionally, if you log in to view the game you will notice Switch among the listed platforms.

Although we still don’t have an official confirmation, everything that we have seen so far indicates that AC III for Nintendo Switch is very likely to happen.
