Blade Reborn: Magic Bow Elven
I would like to start off by saying that this is probably the most unimaginative class name that I ever saw in any RPG. Ok, now that I got that out of my system, let’s get started. From now on I will refer to Magic Bow Elven as MBE. MBE is a very interesting combination of bow and staff, so if you’re into archery and flashy spells, then this class is definitely for you. So what is MBE good for? This class will excel at dealing long range AoE damage, and that can be quite useful, both in PvE and in massive PvP battles (like Battlefield) - especially because even auto attacks with staff have a nice AoE. MBE also has, a few, very nice skills that will enhance your mobility, making it possible to hit enemies from distance and escape before they can retaliate - and this is how you should play as this class most of the time. Another interesting feature is close range ultimate with a staff (Ice Dragon) that deals huge amount damage, especially if you are standing right next to the target.
On the other hand, bow ultimate (rain of Arrows) deals massive ranged AoE, at the cost of slightly lower damage than the bow ulti. Both, bow and staff ultimate should be used depending on a situation.
Staff Skills (Ice damage) and Talents
MBE will unleash ice energy in two columns in front of him, dealing damage to all enemies caught within the AoE and also launching them in the air. Not bad damage for a Tier 1 skill, but not great either. This skill can be useful for clearing mobs, but not much more other than that.
This talent will increase the range of Ice Hammer by 30%. Not a bad talent, but this shouldn’t be one of your “better” skills. Because of that – Low Priority Talent.
The damage of the skill will be increased by 10%. Well, 10% of the lowest damage dealing skill is definitely not great – Low Priority Talent.
MBE will teleport 6m away in the direction that you’re facing, and will then deal damage to all enemies within a 3m radius while also knocking them back a few meters. Very, very useful skill. It will be your main method of escaping and chasing down enemies, as well as avoiding some nasty Boss skills that can interrupt your own.
After teleport, targets aren’t knocked back, instead, minions will be frozen for 2 seconds. I really can’t think of a situation in which this talent would be useful – Low Priority Talent.
Teleportation distance will be increased by 2m. This could be very useful in a lot of situations – you’ll often need that extra 2m to get out of the AoE or run away. High Priority Talent.
Creates a zone of ice in a 3m radius around the target that will pulse for a few seconds, dealing damage to all enemies within the AoE. After the spell expires, the target will be frozen for 3 seconds (freeze effect will be applied only to minions). This skill deals a solid amount of damage and can be effective vs groups of minions. When you cast the spell it will deal damage in a certain AoE, and it is possible to hit enemies with another skill while this one is still up and running. However, it’s somewhat limited in PvP, because it is easy to move out of the AoE and the freeze will only affect minions, which is pretty much useless.
Activating this talent will increase the duration of the spell, thus making it deal a bit more damage. The spell will also deal some extra damage upon expiring. Not a bad talent – Medium Priority.
Ice Bolt casting time will be reduced by 30%. Ok talent, being able to cast a spell ~1 second faster can be really important. Medium Priority Talent.
Summons one Ice Dragon in front of the MBE that will deal a huge amount of damage – the amount of damage dealt will be affected by the distance from the target (the closer you are, the better). This spell has a very short casting time and should be used at close range, especially vs enemies whose parry break value won’t be depleted any time soon. Ice Dragon is one of the skills that can deal the highest amount of damage in Blade Reborn, so use it whenever you’re close to a Boss/player.
2 Dragons will be summoned instead of 1, and that will increase the spell width by 30% (damage remains unaffected). Solid Talent, if you have trouble hitting with this skill this Talent is an ok choice, but as I said before, Ice Dragon should be used at close range so – Medium Priority Talent.
It will increase the range of the Ice Dragon by 10%. Again, more range on a close range skill is not very useful – Medium Priority Talent.
Bow Skills (Lightning damage) and Talents
After a short charge period, shoots an arrow that will penetrate several targets and can knock down enemies. The damage of this skill is very good for a Tier 1 skill. It is best used vs a single target or multiple enemies that are moving in a single column.
This Talent will increase the speed of the arrow by 35%. Useful, especially if you plan on using this skill often. With this Talent, it will be way easier to hit your target with Charge Arrow. Medium Priority Talent.
This talent will reduce the skill's cooldown by 2 seconds. Very nice talent, Charge Arrow already has a somewhat short cooldown, so reducing it by another 2 seconds is huge (percentage wise). Medium or even High Priority Talent.
Leaps back and shoots 3 arrows at the target. In-game description is not accurate, jump-back distance is definitely less than 10m, even when you’re standing right next to the target. The damage of this skill is not that great, but it has some uses. For example: to get away from Boss skills that have a small AoE radius, or to get away from players that have a short range, while at the same time dealing damage.
The number of arrows is increased from 3 to 4, and jump back distance is increased by 2 meters. Very good Talent if you want to use a ninja doge with increased damage. Medium - High Priority Talent.
Leap damage will increase by 10%. Not bad, but not great either – Medium Priority Talent.
MBE will shoot a huge amount of arrows at nearby targets. This skill has a large, cone-shaped AoE and will probably be your main skill for clearing large groups of minions. If you position yourself properly, dozens of them will fall in one activation of this skill - elven machinegun for mob clearing, nice isn’t it?
Spirit Judgement range will increase by 30%. This will make your elven machinegun become a long-range machinegun, and even better for clearing minions. Now, this skill can also be very useful in massive PvP battles. High Priority Talent.
Arrow flight distance will increase by another 10%. Medium Priority Talent.
The MBE will continuously shoot arrows at a 10m radius area, dealing very large amounts of damage to anyone caught within AoE. This skill deals huge damage to a large area and is best used vs bosses or players whose parry has been broken. If that’s the case, the enemy won’t be able to move or act for the duration of this skill and will take the full damage. Also, in a massive PvP, it is possible to hit multiple players if they don’t realize what’s going on (they usually won’t, so… that’s great – I love this skill).
Yes, they have the same name, it is somewhat usual in this game. Anyway, this Talent will increase the range of the skill by 20%, making it possible to rain arrows from the sky at the enemies that are even further away and that’s very nice – High Priority Talent.
AoE of the Rain of Arrows will increase by 10% upon activating this talent. Having even larger AoE on the Ultimate? Yes, please. Very High Priority Talent.
