Bots are arriving at Fortnite soon

Fortnite, one of the world’s most popular multiplayer online games in the past two years, will be getting Bots soon. According to Epic, the game’s publisher and developer, their goal is to improve upon the matchmaking features for the game’s Battle Royale mode, which is undoubtedly the #1 reason players do play it. The popularity of games such as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown Battleground’s (PUBG for short) is in fact owed to this Battle Royale style of multiplayer matches, in which a certain number of players, one hundred most commonly, are thrown in a single map which is shrinking over time, leading to an inevitable fight to the last man standing in a bloody meat grinding match.

Epic is planning on implementing several improvements, though they do emphasize that the core multiplayer gameplay has “remained mostly unchanged” according to the company’s latest press release. However, the game did evolve since its release in 2017, and the player community should regard this as another step in the evolution of the game and the genre. Thus, the upcoming update will mark a sort of plateau in the evolution chain.

The Upcoming Fortnite patch will implement the changes to the matchmaking system, through which the game should achieve a better matchmaking logic. Mainly, Epic is trying to make the matchmaking process fairer and allow the game to pit together players of similar skill together. 10.40 update will implement these changes and it is expected to arrive within days. The changes will be released slowly across all regions and monitored closely to see what impact it will have on the Battle Royale mode.

However, an even bigger change is the introduction of Bots to Fortnite with 10.40 update. The Bots are naturally designed to imitate human players and their gaming habits, and are aimed at also improving the online matchmaking system, serving to “provide a better path for players to grow in skill”. Fortnite season 11 release date is still not set, but according to online sources, it will be sometime in early October. The game is currently celebrating Batman’s 80th Anniversary with a dedicated event, so go enjoy it!
