Cracked Crusaders mobile game is as freaky and fun as the title suggests, judging from the gameplay footage seen so far. The game doesn’t seem to have allowed any early access or beta tests so little or no early hands-on reviews exist, but from the trailer it is pretty obvious that it is one hell of a dungeon-crawling, fast-paced platformer that contains some radical ideas.
Cracked Crusaders release date is set for November 5th, 2019, in less than two weeks time, which is when we will hopefully have the whole story and the chance to review it. As mentioned, it is a fast-paced platform game done in the dungeon-crawling manner, with pixel art style, but with some radical and innovative ideas implemented in the mix. In the game, the heroes reportedly fights the evil forces that are invading the Lanchy Valley and abducting Milton’s sheep, and presumably, that’s the farm our three heroes are looking at in the final shot of the trailer.
Furthermore, our heroes appear to be a human, presumably Milton, and several farm animals all in humanoid shape more or less. As it seems, they are all fighting the good fight and trying to get their friends, the missing sheep, back as they battle some weird and scary things. The trailer shows some weird hostile creatures, like a giant caterpillar that shoots slime at you from each of its body parts, but it’s got a head of a giant bird, most likely a pterodactyl, that’s eyeing our hero very menacingly and screaming at him.
Cracked Crusaders also seems to bring some crazy and challenging platform dungeon-crawling action. The game indeed seems fast-paced and blood-pumping, as each of the characters we see in the trailer is constantly besieged by various things like spikes, projectiles, spiked balls, and again more freaky hostile creatures like giant bats and even dragons. The part that’s really scary is the way the trailer chooses to present the game just by saying “Be brave, be elusive, be ready”.
What gameplay we see also shows that the control system is pretty simple. We have the jump button, the forward/backward movement button, the attack button, the map, options, and the special item button. The game allows double jumping, jumping off of walls and surfaces, and jumping on enemy heads which is a trademark for 2D platformers. However, the characters all seem to have some different weapons, some even shoot fireballs or have some sort of scatter shoot guns.
The game is developed and offered by Webbysoft, which are bringing this crazy platformer to both Google Play and the iTunes App Store, so both Android and iOS devices will be able to get it starting from November 5th, 2019. It remains to be seen how well it will do.
