This year’s The Game Awards ceremony brought a lot of nice things for many great games, with God of War triumphing in main categories. Of course, these types of events are great for more than just showing off the best of the already published games – they bring a lot of exclusive content from the upcoming titles, as well. And a new and quite revealing trailer for Devil May Cry 5 certainly qualifies as exciting and long overdue.
Devil May Cry 5 is slated for release on March 8, 2019, but you can already pre-order it now for around $60. It harbored many questions about the characters before, but with a new one called V, it seems that Devil May Cry 5 has once again raised more questions.
What we know so far is that V is quite a mighty character who can summon three demons Shadow, Griffon, and Nightmare to help him during the battle. Shadow is a good choice for close-range fights since it morphs into blades and needles who has a cool panther-like look and is pretty fast. Griffon serves as transport for V thanks to its bird-like form, but it also releases fire beams upon its enemies. Nightmare is a huge demon who depends on strengths and can basically crash whoever gets in its way but also uses the beams of light. The three demons give V quite an advantage since they can weaken the enemies before he enters the fight with his cane.
Of course, besides V, Capcom also announced that the Bloody Palace Mode will be back to all Devil May Cry games, sans the original. However, it won’t be included in the bought version of the game, but available as a free update after the release. This mode for quick elimination allows players to battle hordes of enemies until they get what they are after.
There is also a Cameo System which resembles Dark Souls’. It allows other players to interact with your world and you with theirs, so you can get their assistance during some messy cases. But there aren’t any more info on this mode for the time being, but there is plenty of time until March 8 to find out about it as well.
The first demo for Xbox One was out just a few days ago on December 7 and players can play as Nero in Red Grave City. Players will be able to see the Devil Breaker a replacement made by Nico for Devil Bringer an unknown figure took from Nero. The demo will have Nero fighting several demons with his Red Queen sword and Blue Rose handgun as well. So, it seems it’s going to be quite a demo for Xbox One owners.
However, another thing got fans and everyone else a little bit taken aback – Devil May Cry 5 Ultra Limited Edition will cost quite a hefty sum of money. For V version you will have to spend $5,300, Nero $6,000 and Dante $8,000. It will be available only for the Japanese audience and each will come with a leather jacket designed based on those the characters wear in the game. These will be perfect for cosplays since the jackets will really be identical to the ones from the game with scratch marks, rips and damage from the battles.
Devil May Cry 5 will be out in four months for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but until then we will anxiously wait for more info on the game from Capcom. And hopefully, we will hear first impressions about the gameplay from those lucky enough to try the demo on Xbox One.
