Divinity: Original Sin 2 will support cross-saves on Steam and Switch

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steam and Switch cloud saves will be shared. This is big news for all fans of the critically and commercially acclaimed RPG developed by Larian Studios. The definitive edition is already available on Nintendo Store for $49.99, so if you already played it on PC, just continue where you left off now on your portable console.

On Steam, Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition is currently offered with a -40% discount and is available for around $29, but the offer expires today on September 6th, at around 8am PT. The usual price is also a bit cheaper than the Switch edition, which is currently a hot purchase, but a noteworthy one for sure. This feature was naturally developed as a means to prevent players from losing endless hours invested in the game already if they wanted to play the game on the go.

The game offers many different paths of character progress and evolution, and also provides an adequately long content to accommodate the players. This is why it is so important to not waste it with this transition to Switch and this Shared Cloud saves the day. Naturally, the Switch version will also feature all of the highlights from the original game:

  • 5 races and 6 unique characters to choose from
  • Custom character creation also supported
  • Free open-world exploration available for the player to experience with AI companions or friends
  • Two-player multiplayer split-screen mode supported
  • Online play with up to 4 players
  • Hundreds of tweaks and upgrades made for the Definitive Edition

With the console being co-op friendly, Divinity: Original Sin 2 Switch version is expected to be a good opportunity for an improved multiplayer experience. Online multiplayer mode via PC was naturally already available, but with Switch, it is much easier to sit with a friend in the same room and experience the game together, side by side. Larian Studios are currently busy with Baldur’s Gate 3, so this shall at least entertain us until they are done with the upcoming game.
