Resident Evil 3 remake release date is set for April 3rd, 2020, as promised by Capcom! They went ahead and announced it anyway, even though the remake news sort of leaked via the PlayStation Store, but the precise release date is only now set and its sooner than anyone expected. This announcement also comes with more good news, as Capcom confirms Project Resistance spin-off game is actually the multiplayer mode for RE3, and it is now called Resident Evil Resistance!
As the trailer shows at the end, the RE3 Remake will include the online game Resident Evil Resistance. The trailer is quite the trip down memory lane in this story of intrigue, government cover-ups, and monstrous action. The original Resident Evil 3 release date was back in 1999, in September. New Millennium was soon upon us and the game also followed the dawn of a new age in technology, gaming, and design. Like the whole series, this title is a survival horror action game, which Capcom originally developed and published for PlayStation 1.
This third installment takes place around the same time as RE2 events unfolded, and are centered around Jill Valentine. She is trying to escape from the city filled with the infected specimen, with what is known as a biological weapon produced by the Umbrella Corp. This engine was one of the first to use 3D models and pre-rendered backgrounds with fixed camera angles, which was pretty advanced and looked awesome back in the day. With the remake, we can expect tweaked up graphics and looks, but the trailer shows that the atmosphere will remain intact.
Resident Evil 3 is a bit more action-oriented than other titles in the series. It has a larger amount of enemies and it is also where Nemesis creature was first introduced. Nemesis periodically pursues the player, which gives the game an unrivaled excitement and heart-stopping action which all reviews and critics loved and continue to praise even today. Since 1999, the game has conquered Windows, Dreamcast, and GameCube, while this upcoming remake is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
The original development was being directed by Kazuhiro Aoyama and produced by Shinji Mikami, who worked with Capcom since 1990. The story was written by Yasuhisa Kawamura and the game features an original score composed by Masami Ueda and Saori Maeda. Resident Evil 3 remake release date is set for April 3, 2020, and in four months’ time we will again relive the game that gave us the chills back in the day.
