The Epic Games Store really tries their best to make itself competitive with the big players. We already mentioned some exclusives for this store, and now the store announced that their next game giveaway is What Remains of Edith Finch, which will go live on January 10 until January 25.
A free game is always good news, but this piece of software is really peculiar because it’s one of those games you probably missed at the time of their release. What Remains of Edith Finch earned some really good reviews but it never really picked up among the audience, mainly because the indie title might not be everyone’s cup of tea. The developers of this game are apparently fully aware of that fact, giving their game the tagline ” the best game you haven’t played”.
What Remains of Edith Finch is an adventure which puts you in the role of the titular heroine who explores the house where she grew up and discovers how each of her relatives died. Yes, we agree it sounds odd, but the game is charming enough and beautifully written, so it deserves to give it a chance, for its sheer poignancy and lack of pathetic.
This giveaway is a part of Epic’s incentive to attract new users by giving away a free game every two weeks. Before What Remains of Edith Finch, there was a Super Meat Boy, and this game will start its free interval on January 10th.
