Europe Empire 2027 mobile is a strategy game that tackles the expansion of the genre to mobile platforms. Presented by iGindis Games, this title portrays our existing world in chaos and engulfed by war between 5 continents, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. The military forces all have the 2027 index attached to them and the game shows a somewhat alternate or ‘possible’ scenario in which the future of conflict might take us.
Development and reception
This title is developed and published by iGindis Games, who strive to develop the best AI strategy games for mobile. They are particularly proud of developing the multiplayer aspect of the game and breaking the language barrier, with this game supporting over 30 of our world’s languages while letting the players play seamlessly. The company also offers rewards for ambitious players who wish to help in providing additional subtitles for languages not supported by the game currently, as the majority of the translated content was indeed procured this way. On Google Play, Europe Empire 2027 scored 4.1 stars so far out of over 40k votes, and it is a free-to-play game with in-app ads and optional purchases.
In the year 2027, as the title suggests, we see our world in war and chaos. The newly-elected president of the U.S. has decided to cease sending American military troops overseas and has pulled all their forces back home. Subsequently, the world economy collapses after major wars spring up in South China Sea and the Middle East for resource supremacy. Europe is simultaneously hit by a massive refugee flood and the threat of an invasion from the east. Furthermore, nationalism raises and NATO loses its relevance.
As the conflict spreads, a few generals decide it’s time for a coup and rise up to seize power. The player takes on the position of one such leader, who strives to become the Supreme Leader.
As part of your strategic warfare, you can use all available tools including diplomacy, economy, military, and other means to achieve supremacy. The player chooses between the newly founded factions of: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
After your choice, the player is pitted against all other 44 countries controlled by the game’s advanced AI in a free-for-all setting, in the single player mode. As far as the multiplayer goes, this game offers up to 7 human players to compete, with 21 additional factions being controlled by the AI, so max 28 countries per session. The players can also play in multiple worlds simultaneously, with map theme selection, turn time frames, Alliances, and more.
Atmosphere and playability
Europe Empire 2027 strives to give a realistic relation picture between the countries included in the game. The players are offered a wide variety of options, and they control everything from taxes, the civilian population, to their economy, military, and territory. As you progress through time, presented by the current year and starting with 2027, the player has to deal with opposing factions, inside rebels, and every possible strategic aspect you would normally deal with in a situation like this. The game has a minimalistic graphics style and is solely focused on presenting info related to the gameplay.
Europe Empire 2027 is a part of the iGindis studio’s selection of six different versions of the same game, which also includes World Empire 2027, Asia Empire 2027, Africa Empire 2027, Latin America 2027, and Middle East Empire 2027. All are for Android and all feature the same gameplay. These titles represent an interesting take on our future history and as far as the gameplay goes, an innovative method of separating a game into six available content packages.
