Exos Heroes 2020 Review and Guides
Everything you need to know
Is it worth playing?
It used to be that mobile games couldn’t compete with PC games in visuals, but that’s all over now. Exos Heroes is proof that times are changing and that other platforms are becoming powerful, ever-expanding the gaming industry and its possibilities. This game first came up on our radar when it achieved critical and commercial fame on Korean Google Play in 2019, making it in the top 5 mobile games that year, and we were waiting for a global launch. Now, it is here, available for both iOS and Android, so we took a closer look at the game.

This game is developed by Oozoo, a studio well-known to gamers. They are somewhat focused on RPGs and games that at least incorporate the genre as its main guideline for their gameplay, and they are behind such titles as RPG Manager, Zombie Night for Kakao, and Brandnew Boy. LINE Games from Tokyo is the studio that took it upon themselves to publish this game worldwide and, thanks to them, it is now on both iOS and Android mobile platforms after this global release. And, immediately, they achieved critical success. On Google Play, EH Android scored 4.1 stars out of over fifty thousand votes. On the iTunes App Store, EH has a 3.8-star rating but with a voting pool too small to be credible, but the game does have over five-hundred installs on Android.

Exos Heroes achieves its immersive allure with its impressive visuals, but also with an intricate way of storytelling. It is a grand adventure set in a time of myths, mysticism, and fantasy. The sword of the emperor “Exestruk’ has been lost. The player rides on an ancient Airship through the skies of the vast world in search of it and is joined by ancient dragons in the hunt for treasures. The fate of the world is at stake as the story unfolds in an intricate blend with the gameplay. Pairing the narrative with impressive visuals, but also the way the player is being led through the rollercoaster of characters and fantastical occurrences is really what sets the mood and keeps you locked in.

EH gameplay consists of hero collector, RPG, gacha, and even part strategy…
As Oozoo is focused on RPGs, it is also at the center of this game. EH gameplay consists of hero collector, RPG, gacha, and even part strategy. In short, this game carries the traditionally beloved blend of evolving your characters, composing your team, preparations for battle, and the battle itself. Combat itself carries all the hallmarks of the traditional JRPG turn-based style, but everything in this game has something new to expand this genre mix players love so much.

This part is the strongest suit of EH, for it features some of the most advanced graphics and visuals in mobile gaming seen so far. The game is fresh and it features the latest tech in building its incredibly beautiful and detailed models, animations, character special moves, and everything. Visual cues are stunning and flashy, but also comprehensive and clear. Also, despite the fact that it is very rich in animation, the game does not over saturate the screen with effects and it is surprisingly clean and to the point. Shaders, textures, shadows, and everything is a true delight.

Next-gen mobile games that push the boundaries of gameplay quality, these advanced visuals and animations do take a toll on your mobile device…
As it is always the case with new, next-gen mobile games that push the boundaries of gameplay quality, these advanced visuals and animations do take a toll on your mobile device. It is registered and will work with Android 5.0 and up or iOS 9.0 or later, but if you do not own a flagship mobile phone or at least a decent one, this game will be a burden for your device. We would recommend anything with 4GB of RAM or higher, although low-end devices will be able to run it, but your enjoyment will be polluted.

The game is free to download and play and the game has solved some of the more frustrating gacha mechanics many other games have a problem with. In this case, they’ve made all those reroll guides obsolete. Firstly, rerolling has been taken care of here because the developers incorporated a simple mechanic that allows you to pull for your characters, and then when you get a random one you need to confirm if you want it or you can roll again with the same resources, no additional expenses. This surely cuts down on building multiple game accounts and people from the community have been grateful for it through forums and social media, like Reddit and Twitter. Of course, you do need to know which heroes to keep once you are lucky with one of your pulls, but guides and tier lists will be coming soon.
