During the game, you almost got hit by a Bludger, but thanks to the timely intervention of Skye Parkin, a star player from your House team, you were saved just in the nick of time.

Still, this will require a lot of practice and dedication, but apparently, Penny has a plan. Proceed to the Great Hall to hear her out. Once you get there, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters before continuing. As it turns out, Penny found out some interesting information.

season 1 chapter 2 03 1

Apparently, honing your skills might be the only way to get an invitation to Chaser tryouts. She’ll suggest asking Skye Parkin to train you. You have two response options. These won’t influence the story in any meaningful way, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

season 1 chapter 2 06 1

Eventually, Penny will convince you to ask Skye to train you. You’ll quickly go after her before she leaves the Great Hall.

season 1 chapter 2 08 1

She’ll be happy to hear you are eager to get an invitation to tryouts, and she will be very surprised to hear you want her to train you.

season 1 chapter 2 11 1

Especially once she finds out you have no experience in Quidditch whatsoever.

season 1 chapter 2 13 1

However, once she realizes you are the curse-breaker, she’ll be even more surprised, sadly, she won’t be able to train you since her marks have been quite poor recently. You’ll propose a trade: you’ll tutor her, and in exchange, she’ll train you. This will require some convincing since she isn’t quite sure you’re very good at Charms.

This will function similarly to a meal with a friend. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost of each attempt. Especially once she finds out you have no experience in Quidditch whatsoever.

season 1 chapter 2 19 2

Simply pick the most reassuring options, and you won’t have any problems completing this task. Below are some of the questions and their answers.

  • You could be rotten at Charms… – I’m not. Let me prove it to you. (Courage)
  • What would I need to do for you? – Train me to be the best I can be. (Empathy)
  • Would this really be a fair trade? – Yes! Together we’ll both succeed. (Knowledge)
  • You could be rotten at Quidditch… – Not with your expert training. (Knowledge)
  • Promise I’ll pass my test? – Yes, I promise. I’m a great tutor. (Courage)

Once you’re done, she’ll agree to your proposition, but there’s a catch.

season 1 chapter 2 22 1

Also, her Charms exam is very soon.

season 1 chapter 2 25 1

“Right now” is quite a relative term since there’s a waiting period of three hours before you can continue. It is recommended to simply wait and let this timer expire.

season 1 chapter 2 26 1

Once the waiting time is over, head to the Quidditch stands to study with Skye. Apparently, this is the first time Skye’s been tutored.

season 1 chapter 2 28 1

You’ll suggest starting by reviewing the Charms textbook. Skye will start by ripping off some of the pages from the textbook, and she’ll ask if you are okay with this. You have two options to respond with. None of these will have any significant influence on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

season 1 chapter 2 32 1

Not long after that, the wind will blow away all of the pages she ripped from the textbook.

season 1 chapter 2 33 1

Collecting the pages requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

season 1 chapter 2 34 1

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it if you want to save some energy.

season 1 chapter 2 35 1

Thankfully, the two of you will manage to collect all of the pages, and Skye will praise your speed and accuracy, it looks like you’ve made quite the impression. She’ll then decide to review the pages on the way to class. As for your lesson, she’ll ask you to meet her in the Quidditch Changing Room after she’s done with her exam.

You’ll have to wait five hours until Skye is ready to teach you. Since Quidditch chapters are not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

season 1 chapter 2 41 1

Once you are able to continue, head to the Quidditch Changing Room to get your lesson. Skye will happily tell you she passed her Charms exam.

season 1 chapter 2 43 1

She’ll find it odd that you arrived without a broom. You’ll admit that you don’t have a broom of your own, and she’ll tell you to use one of the Shooting Star brooms. Skye will start her lesson by asking you to mount a broom. There is a twist; however, she’ll hex the broom to make it much harder to mount.

Mounting a hexed broom requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

season 1 chapter 2 49 1

Both Skye and your character have bonus progress actions tied to them, which should make this task a bit easier to complete.

season 1 chapter 2 50 1

When you are done, you’ll manage to mount the hexed broom.

season 1 chapter 2 51 1

You’ll find her training methods quite odd. She’ll be curious to know if you are doubting her. There are two options to respond with, but neither of these will impact the story in any significant way, so feel free to take your pick.

season 1 chapter 2 53 1

Moments later, she’ll tell you that the lesson is over. Still, she will tell you to meet her on the Quidditch pitch at dawn.

There is a waiting period of four hours before you can continue. It is recommended simply to wait until this timer runs out since you can recover energy in the meantime.

season 1 chapter 2 56 1

Once the waiting time is over, proceed to the Quidditch Pitch to begin your training. Shortly after you arrive, Skye will admit that she deliberately hexed the broom.

season 1 chapter 2 58 1

Apparently, she’s under a lot of pressure to win the Quidditch Cup. That is why she didn’t want to waste time giving you a lesson. You can choose to identify with her or challenge her. This choice will only impact a few lines of dialogue, but other than that, it won’t change the story much, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

season 1 chapter 2 61 1

She’ll say that once she saw you on that broom, she realized you possess a raw talent. In fact, she is considering giving you the opportunity to prove yourself and become a Chaser for your House team. In other words, she is willing to train you. Apparently, your training is just about to begin. You’ll then notice some of her teammates flying out onto the pitch.

season 1 chapter 2 69 1

Madam Hooch will arrive as well.

season 1 chapter 2 70 1

You’ll also notice the Quidditch announcer in the booth.

season 1 chapter 2 71 1

Your first Quidditch lesson begins now. The task window will display the positions you can pick, rewards, and the cost of the game. For now, you can only play as a Chaser, so when you are ready, hit the Start to begin.

season 1 chapter 2 73 1

The Quidditch announcer will say a few words just before the game starts.

season 1 chapter 2 74 1

This is pretty much a tutorial section for Quidditch. During the match, you will be given a set number of maneuvers you need to perform in order to win the game. Each maneuver requires you to fill up the skill meter halfway through in order to successfully execute it. You can do that by dragging the token to each of the circles when it flashes green.

season 1 chapter 2 76 1
season 1 chapter 2 77 1

Each maneuver you execute successfully will fill up your team’s Performance meter. Similarly, each time you fail to perform a maneuver, this meter will decrease. To win the match, you need to fill the majority of the Performance meter before the game ends.

season 1 chapter 2 78 1

Keep in mind that you can hold and drag the token while you wait for the circles to shrink and flash green.

season 1 chapter 2 79 1
season 1 chapter 2 80 1

If you manage to fill up the majority of the Performance meter, your team will win the match, and you will be able to collect rewards.

season 1 chapter 2 81 1
season 1 chapter 2 82 1

As it turns out, Skye is definitely determined to train you.
