The Second Quidditch Cup Part 2-a
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Second Quidditch Cup Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, you learned that Skye’s father, Ethan Parkin, is visiting Hogwarts to watch the Quidditch Cup final. You also heard that he was the one who secured the victory for your house team twenty years ago in the highest-scoring Quidditch match in Hogwarts history. Apparently, he performed some mystery maneuver, which allowed him to score and win the game for his team. During one of your practice sessions, you had the chance to meet him and ask him about it, but he avoided the question and was quite secretive about it. Later on, you talked things through with Skye, and you realized she is under tremendous pressure by having her father around for the final Quidditch Cup match. Also, Penny and Face Paint Kid helped you learn more about Ethan’s mystery maneuver. Apparently, Madam Hooch was a referee of that historical match, and it might be a good idea to ask her and see if she can tell you something about it. Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 6 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the students and see what they have to say.

By the looks of it, Madam Hooch has her hands full teaching the first-years.

This will bring back some old memories.

Madam Hooch will ask why you wanted to speak to her.

You’ll quickly get to the point and ask her about that famous Quidditch match.

Thankfully, she will be more than willing to tell you anything she can remember.

Learning about the match requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

Prioritize 5-cost actions if you are looking to save some energy. Some of those are linked to Madam Hooch and your character.

According to Madam Hooch, that match was pretty rough.

You’ll recall hearing her saying something about the Power Play.

Was that the mystery maneuver Ethan Parkin performed?

Madam Hooch will tell you more about it.

According to her, the Power Play requires a highly coordinated team to execute. It is not something one player can do.

You’ll tell Madam Hooch you were very curious about that mystery maneuver.

She will explain that Ethan Parkin was very rough on the pitch, but he definitely wasn’t a cheater.

In fact, Erika will very much remind her of Ethan.

That’s when you’ll notice Rath practicing nearby.

Madam Hooch will thank you for reminding her of ‘good old times’.

And you will also thank her for everything.

You’ll then decide to approach Rath and have a word with her. If the two of you are friends, she’ll be surprised to see you. Otherwise, she will be a bit unwelcoming.

You will inform her about the drama on your house team.

Erika will automatically assume Skye is involved.

And she will be pretty much right about it. You will tell her Skye’s father is putting a lot of pressure on her and the entire team.

Rath will propose a rather simple solution. There are three options to respond with. If you like Erika, it is recommended to pick the third option. Otherwise, you can choose whichever option you prefer.

If two of you are friends, and you go with the third option, Rath will happily smile at you.

She’ll give you one last piece of advice before you leave.

Proceed to the Quidditch Changing Room to meet with Skye.

You will notice both her and Ethan when you arrive.

You’ll inform her you spoke to Madam Hooch.

Unfortunately, she will cut your sentence short, saying she got some extra practice.

Ethan will invite you to join them.

You will remind Ethan a lot of his own Quidditch beginnings.

You’ll humbly say that everything you achieved was a team effort.

The next few lines will differ, based on the outcome of the previous season.

You’ll decide to say a few words about Ethan’s involvement in your house team.

Standing up to Ethan Parkin requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

The only 5-cost action here is tied to your character, so focusing on your own actions should save you a bit of energy.

Ethan will be shocked to hear he’s responsible for throwing your team off balance.

He will say he only wanted to help your team prepare for the upcoming Quidditch Cup final.

He’ll ask you if he really made such a big mess. There are three options to respond with. These won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Ethan will ask Skye why she didn’t say anything about it.

Your friend will simply say she couldn’t.

Sadly, her father won’t understand her.

Skye will try to drop the subject.

This is where you’ll encourage your friend to speak her mind.

She’ll take a good look at you before finally opening up.

Ethan will apologize to her for being too tough.

She’ll admit that not everything was bad. Thanks to him, she learned how to play Quidditch.

You will use the opportunity to ask Ethan to teach you the Power Play maneuver.

Luckily, he’ll be up for it. He will ask you to gather your teammates and meet him on the Quidditch Pitch.

You will need approximately two hours to gather all of your teammates. Since your energy is likely low at this point, it is recommended to wait and let it recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Quidditch Pitch once the waiting time is over.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your teammates.

Ethan will gather everyone.

He’ll start by saying he won’t ask anyone to compete against one another.

Orion will admit he was thrown off balance by Parkin’s training.

Ethan will start explaining how he won the Quidditch Cup when he was young.

He’ll say his team didn’t win the match because of him. It was entirely a team effort.

You’ll ask him an obvious question.

He’ll say it just wasn’t as good of a story as keeping it a mystery.

He will admit he was wrong about it.

Ethan will then decide to teach your team the Power Play maneuver.

Learning the Power Play requires obtaining five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Ethan and your character. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

Once you’re done, he’ll ask your team to perform this maneuver.

You and your teammates will fly in a tight formation, and you will make it possible for Skye to score.

Ethan will advise you all to have faith in one another.

Orion will also say a few words.

You will thank Ethan for teaching your team the Power Play.

And he will thank you for opening his eyes.

You’ll ask Skye if she’d like to go to the pre-match party with you.

She’ll happily accept your invitation.
