A Scandal in Hogsmeade Part 1

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for A Scandal in Hogsmeade Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, and it should unlock upon reaching Chapter 8 of Year 3 of the main story. Upon starting the adventure, you will have 3 days and 4 hours to complete it. During it, Andre will inform you that his favorite cousin is arriving in Hogsmeade. You will get the opportunity to meet her and spend some time with her and Andre. Once you start the adventure, Andre will ask you to meet him in the Transfiguration classroom. Proceed there when you are ready.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

You’ll greet Andre and ask him about a special trip to Hogsmeade.

The following line will differ, based on the year you’re in.

You’ll admit that you are excited about the trip.

Andre will say that his cousin, Jules, is paying him a visit.

He’ll ask you to help him take her on a tour of Hogsmeade.

You will look forward to meeting another Egwu.

Andre will be happy to hear that. He’ll admit that he already mentioned you to Jules in his letters.

As it seems, she will be arriving in Hogsmeade Station fairly soon.

You’ll already have some interesting ideas for the tour.

Andre will add to that.

He’ll also want to show her around the school. However, he will be unsure if there will be enough time for everything.

You will ask him to tell you more about Jules. That way, the two of you can think of the best places to show her.

Andre will love that idea.

You will then get to plan Jules’ trip. This requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Andre and the board. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will be amazed by the fact that Jules likes traveling. In fact, she’s traveled all over the world.

According to Andre, she’s never been to Hogsmeade or Hogwarts.

You will suggest starting at the Three Broomsticks. After all, they make the best Butterbeer.

Andre will like the idea.

You will also suggest showing her Zonko’s before coming back to Hogwarts.

Andre will be quite certain that his cousin will be excited to see Hogwarts.

He’ll suggest asking Hagrid or Professor Kettleburn to show her some magical creatures.

However, he’ll be unsure if that is a good idea, since Jules’ parents are Magizoologists, and she sees magical creatures all the time.

He will ask for your opinion. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Andre will be quite sure that Jules is going to enjoy the tour.

He will say that this Egwu family reunion means a lot to him.

He’ll even name you an honorary Egwu.

You’ll humbly say that you are happy to help.

Shortly after, the two of you will head to the Hogsmeade station. Proceed there when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

According to Andre, Jules’ train should be arriving very soon.

Once again, he will tell you how much he wants his cousin to enjoy the trip.

You’ll reassure him that everything will be all right.

Andre will say that the last time he saw Jules, she was as skittish as a Porlock.

You’ll be surprised to hear that, since you assumed all Egwus were stylish and fabulous.

According to Andre, Jules is not very stylish.

Moments later, the train will arrive.

Shortly after, Jules will come off the train.

Andre will be very surprised to see her.

You’ll point out that she doesn’t look shy at all.

She’ll admit that she used to be shy, but she changed a lot since the last time she saw Andre.

You will give her a compliment.

Jules will assume that you are the great Curse-Breaker Andre told her about.

Your friend will still find it hard to believe that his cousin changed so much.

You’ll smile and say that being stylish certainly runs in their family.

Jules will nod and say that she designed her outfit for the occasion. She’ll be curious to hear your opinion on it. There are two options to reply with. This time, it is simply recommended to be honest. If you like her outfit, you should pick the first option. If you don’t, feel free to select the second one, Jules won’t be upset about it. In fact, she will even appreciate your honesty.

You will say that Andre already told you some things about her.

Jules will tell you that she’s been to fifty-two countries. However, she’s never visited Hogwarts before.

You’ll then get to talk to her about the trip. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task with an empty energy bar.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Andre and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

Jules will be pleasantly surprised to hear about the trip.

You’ll tell her that the first part of the tour includes visiting some places in Hogsmeade.

Andre will explain that Hogwarts students aren’t allowed to visit Hogsmeade until their third year.

Jules will say that she’s really looking forward to it.

You’ll tell her that the first place you planned to take her is the Three Broomsticks.

She’ll like the idea and say that she’s always wanted to try their Butterbeer.

Shortly after, all of you will head to the Three Broomsticks.

Proceed there when you are ready.

Once you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of your classmates by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

Jules will be happy to finally be able to taste Butterbeer.

Andre will tell her that she won’t have to wait much longer.

You will remember your first trip to the Three Broomsticks.

The following line will differ, based on the year you’re in.

Jules will assume that you went to the Three Broomsticks straight away.

You’ll nod and say that Andre gave you some fashion advice shortly after you arrived.

Andre will mention the clothing item he gave you back then.

You’ll tell him you are always open to fashion tips.

Especially if there are some free clothes as a bonus.

Jules will admire your friendship with Andre. She’ll admit she wishes she had friends like that.

Unfortunately, given that she is traveling a lot, she doesn’t have much time to make friends.

You’ll figure out that she’s probably seen some amazing magical creatures during her travels.

She’ll smile and say that she’s seen all sorts of magical creatures.

You will ask her to tell you more about her travels and the magical creatures she’s encountered.

Learning about Jules requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if you are low on energy.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Jules and Andre. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will be surprised after hearing about Jules’ travels.

She’ll tell you that her family lives in Japan. Her parents are hoping to find an Oni there.

She will explain that her parents spend most of their time rehabilitating injured magical creatures.

You’ll wonder what happens to the magical creatures once they are healed.

Jules will tell you that most of the time, they get reintroduced to their native environments.

You will figure out that is why they are traveling so much.

Andre will say that his cousin helps with the rehabilitation of magical creatures.

Needless to say, you will be impressed to hear all of that.

Still, Jules will say that her life isn’t nearly as exciting as the Curse-Breaker’s.

She’ll admit she cannot decide which part of her visit is most exciting.

Andre will suggest having a toast to something once the Butterbeer arrives.

Jules will ask you to decide what to toast to. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t impact the story in any meaningful way, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

Shortly after, Madam Rosmerta will approach your table. She will apologize and say that she’s out of Butterbeer.

Apparently, all of her butterscotch has been stolen, and she cannot make Butterbeer without it.

You will wonder who is responsible for that.

Madam Rosmerta will say that she is wondering about the same thing.

Andre will apologize to his cousin for this turn of events.

You will suggest the two of them continue the tour while you stay and figure out who stole the butterscotch.

That way, once you recover the stolen butterscotch, Madam Rosmerta will be able to brew her Butterbeer again.

Andre will like your plan.

Jules will say that she wants to help you solve the mystery.

You will gladly accept the help, as long as Andre is okay with it.

Your friend will admit that he would rather take Jules shopping. However, he will agree to help solve the mystery if that is what she prefers doing.

Jules will happily tell him that she wants to help.

With that being said, the three of you will take the case.

Madam Rosmerta will warn you that tracking down a bandit is not an easy task.

The following line will differ, based on the year you’re in.

You’ll assure Madam Rosmerta that you are up to the task.

After all, you’ve dealt with danger before.

Jules will say that she’s spent most of her life around dangerous creatures, so she isn’t afraid of the sugar-loving thief.

Andre will also say a few words to convince Madam Rosmerta.

In the end, she will agree to have you investigate the case.

You’ll ask her if there’s anything she can tell you about the theft.

She will say that she didn’t see anyone entering or exiting the storeroom. The butterscotch simply disappeared.

Jules will find it very odd.

You’ll ask if anything else is missing.

Madam Rosmerta will say that the thief only took the butterscotch. She’ll also tell you that Bilton Bilmes recently experienced a theft at Zonko’s.

She’ll suggest talking to him, since there’s a chance that the same thief was behind both crimes.

Moments later, the three of you will start working on the case.
