Walkthrough
Proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom once you start the adventure. Upon arriving, you will get to interact with some of your classmates and check out what they have to say to you. By the looks of it, Bill has an unusual lesson planned for today.
Penny asked him about his new job, and he’s excited to tell you and your friends about it. But the Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts isn’t very interested in hearing about it.
However, you will manage to convince her.
After all, Bill is a professional Curse Breaker.
Shortly after, Merula will ask Bill if the job has a good salary. Bill looks satisfied with it, and that’s all Merula was curious about.
He’ll then turn to you and ask if you have any questions. There are three options to choose from. While none of these will have any effect on the outcome of the adventure, this might be a good opportunity to learn a bit more about the curse-breaker profession, so feel free to pick the question you find the most interesting.
Shortly after, Bill will agree to let everyone ask him more about his work. This requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.
There are bonus actions tied to Bill. Prioritize his actions if you are looking to save a bit of energy.
When you are done, Charlie will excitedly comment on something Bill said. After all, the dragons were involved.
Hearing about Bill’s upcoming assignment at the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary piques your curiosity, and Charlie will be eager to join his brother on the task. Unfortunately, Bill doesn’t think it’s possible. You will try to convince your friend to accept help, considering that dragons are extremely dangerous creatures.
Sadly, Bill won’t be willing to accept your help just like that.
Charlie will make a final effort to convince Bill, but Bill will dismiss the class and leave, leaving Charlie disappointed. In light of this, you might consider devising a plan to convince Bill.
Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready. When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the students. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Charlie will be wondering why his brother doesn’t want to take him along. There are three options to respond with. None of these will have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.
He’ll then mention what happened in the Buried Vault during the previous year. This dialogue will be a bit different based on whether Charlie was with you back then or not.
With another cursed vault to discover and a chance to prepare for what’s ahead by helping Bill, you’re even more motivated to join. Charlie will think that you just need to convince Bill, but that’s easier said than done.
You’ll suggest reviewing all of your options before you do anything drastic. Forging a plan requires earning five stars within an hour. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task with an empty energy bar.
There are reward actions linked to Charlie and your character. Focus on these actions if you want to save some energy.
After your discussion, you’ll realize you don’t have a solid plan to convince Bill. Charlie will suggest using a Polyjuice Potion to help persuade him.
Unfortunately, the Polyjuice Potion takes a long time to prepare, so that choice is off the table. However, Charlie has another “interesting” idea.
You’ll not agree with him and say that instead of yelling at Bill, you can ask him nicely.
Head to Gringotts Wizarding Bank when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll get to interact with some of the characters before continuing. Both you and Charlie will be amazed by the place.
You’ll see Bill at the other end of the hall, but a goblin will stop you before you can reach him and ask where you’re going. There are three options to reply with. While all of these will end up with the same outcome, some of the options will lead to quite interesting dialogue lines.
Moments later, Bill will approach and he’ll be very surprised to see you.
Both you and Charlie will try to explain why you came to visit him.
Bill’s boss, Griphook, will be interested to hear more, and you’ll start explaining. You’ll mention that you heard about Bill’s journey to the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary and that you’d like to go with him. But Bill will insist that he can’t take you, even though you love dragons. As for Griphook, he will mention one of the goblin smiths, Urgruff the Unwary.
Apparently, this goblin was very interested in dragons.
By the looks of it, this story is related to Bill’s next assignment. Learning more about it requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting the task if you’re out of energy.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all of the available actions. There are reward actions tied to Griphook and Bill.
It looks like Bill is the one who is supposed to recover Urgruff’s egg. Also, he’ll be using the Portkey to get there. Both you and Charlie will quickly offer to help.
According to Griphook, there might be a way for you to help Bill.
Your friend will be reasonable enough to let you assist him in studying dragons, and he’ll request that you meet him at the Hog’s Head Inn.
Proceed there when you’re ready. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to chat with some of the characters and see what they have to say. Bill will thank you for helping him study. However, he still won’t be willing to take you along.
There are three options to reply with. While each of these choices will end up with the same outcome, Bill will appreciate it the most if you pick the second option.
Eventually, you will decide to start studying. This will require earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so if you are low on energy, it is not recommended to start this task.
There are bonus actions linked to your characters. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.
Once you’ve finished helping Bill with his studies, he’ll thank you. Then, you and Charlie will once again try to convince him to let you join him on his trip. Unfortunately, before he could answer, Aberforth will approach you and say a few words.
Bill will be confused by this new policy and will ask when the policy has been in effect.
In the end, you’ll decide to order another drink. Apparently, Aberforth overheard some parts of your conversation. According to him, Professor Dumbledore was quite interested in dragons as well.
Bill will suddenly recall something, and it appears he won’t be able to attend the next lesson.
You will cheekily smile and propose a solution.
At first, Bill will be uncertain, but with Charlie’s encouragement, he’ll agree. However, there’s a condition: Bill will be too busy to plan the field trip, so it’s up to you. You’ll accept this without hesitation.
This will conclude Part 1 of Adventures in Curse-Breaking. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 300 Coins.
Bill has finally agreed to take you and your friends along. But now you have to organize everything. Will you be able to do it before the Portkey activates? Find out in the next part of this exciting adventure!
Thank you for reading.
