Adventures in Curse-Breaking Part 4
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for Adventures in Curse-Breaking for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you and your friends arrived at Romanian Dragon Sanctuary via Portkey. Needless to say, you were all completely amazed by the magnificence of it. There are several different dragon species inhabiting the sanctuary, some of which are very fierce. Shortly upon arriving, you decided to set up the camp before the nightfall. Once you were done, you created some protective wards, as instructed by Professor Kettleburn, in order to secure the campsite from the dragon fire. By the time you were done, it was dark already, so you decided to toast some marshmallows and share scary stories with each other. After that, you went inside the tent and played a game of truth or dare. It was quite interesting and funny until Charlie got embarrassed by Bill and decided to leave the tent for a while. Unfortunately, next morning you realized that he’s nowhere to be found, so you decided to search the area in order to find him. Norwegian Ridgeback Nest might be a good place to start, so go there when you are ready.

Instantly upon arriving, you will notice an angry Norwegian Ridgeback guarding its nest.

You will also be able to interact with some of your friends and check out what they have to say.

The dragon will turn to you the moment it sees you approaching.

Apparently, this one is very protective of its nest.

It seems that Charlie is nowhere to be seen.

Bill will ask you to tell everyone more about this dragon.

You will point out some facts.

Bill will ask everyone to slowly back off and leave the area without provoking the dragon.

Unfortunately, this dragon won’t be willing to just let you leave.

Bill will ask if Professor Kettleburn gave you any advice for fighting dragons. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is “Stupefy”.

Everyone will ready their wands, and you will be the one coordinating the attack.

Battling this dragon requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Bill and the dragon. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

When you are done, Bill will ask you to attack the dragon one last time.

You will cast the spell, and the creature will roar and fly away.

Penny will take a look at the dragon eggs in the nest, and she’ll wonder if you did the right thing.

Bill will comment on that.

He’ll then turn to you and ask for your opinion. You have three options to choose from. None of these will have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to go with the choice you prefer.

Moments later, you will hear Charlie calling for help.

You will point out that his voice came from the nearby cave.

Proceed to the Mountaintop Cave when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice Charlie laying on the ground.

By the looks of it, he’s been in the cave all night.

According to him, the dragon inhabiting this cave should be back very soon.

You’ll be shocked to hear that this cave belongs to Hungarian Horntail.

Charlie will ask about the others.

This is when you’ll realize that you’ve separated from the rest of your friends.

And this is also when you will notice the dragon entering the cave.

You will notice that this Hungarian Horntail is a young one. However, this is not something you should be happy about.

Bill will point out that you’ll have to fight the dragon in order to escape the cave.

Apparently, Charlie’s been injured, and he cannot get back on his feet.

Bill will ask you to keep the dragon busy while he tends to Charlie’s injury.

The dragon will then start walking towards you.

You will quickly decide to cast Protego to shield yourself and your friends from its attack. Trace the wand movement to do so.

Soon after, you will get to duel this dangerous creature.

The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.

Depending on your attribute levels, this duel can be very difficult. The Horntail has different attacks for each stance. In Aggressive, it can hit you for 15 points of damage. Its Defensive move deals 5 points of damage and stuns you for 1 round. In Sneaky stance, its attack will hit you for 5 points of damage and you will bleed for 3 damage per round for 2 rounds. One of the most reliable ways to deal with this dragon is to simply spam Defensive stance. In general, you want to avoid going Sneaky, because if you lose a round, you will take 15 points of damage. If you go Defensive and lose a round, you will take 5 points of damage followed by a bleed effect for 3 additional damage per round for 2 rounds. This equals to 11 points of damage at worst. However, this bleed effect doesn’t stack, so if you lose 2 rounds in a row, you will only take 8 damage per round. This means you will need to lose 5 rounds in a row to get defeated if you go all-out Defensive. Whenever you win a round, if you are around half stamina or below, you want to use Wiggenweld Potion to heal up. Otherwise, just hit the dragon with Bombarda. This may be a slow tactic, but you are nearly guaranteed to win unless you get extremely unlucky and lose 5 rounds in a row. Also, there is another much faster, albeit more risky way to fight this dragon. If you don’t want to go with the Defensive Strategy, you can simply Spam Aggressive and hit the dragon with Depulso each time you win a round. Granted, you will get stunned for 1 turn every time you lose a round, but you will only take 5 points of damage. This means you will need to lose 8 rounds total to get defeated. The Aggressive strategy is the best one to use if you have very high attribute levels. Otherwise, it is recommended to stick to Defensive and use the abovementioned method to defeat the dragon.

When you are done, the dragon will open its mouth, ready to use its breath on you.

Quickly trace the wand movement to cast Protego and shield yourself.

This will protect you just in time before the dragon breath hits you.

You will ask Bill if he’s done treating Charlie’s injury.

He needs a bit more time, by the looks of it.

You will need to think of some other way to deal with the dragon.

Charlie will tell you to remember what Professor Kettleburn said.

You will be given three options to choose from. The correct answer is “The Sleeping Charm”.

Trace the wand movement to cast this spell.

The charm will work, and the Horntail will suddenly fall asleep.

Moments later, the rest of your friends will enter the cave.

Bill will scold his brother for running away.

Charlie will try to provide an explanation.

It seems that he did find the Urgruff’s egg inside the cave.

Merula will suggest heading back to the camp before the Horntail wakes up.

Head back to Clearing when you are ready.

When you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

You will notice that Charlie looks very sad.

You’ll suggest talking to him to cheer him up.

You’ll ask Charlie if he’s all right.

He’ll still be sad about messing things up. You have two options to reply with. If you like Charlie, it is somewhat recommended to pick the first option.

You’ll then suggest talking a bit to cheer him up.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting the task if you’re out of energy.

There are 5-cost actions tied to all three of you. This will make it slightly easier to complete the task in time.

When you’re done, Bill and you will say a few more words.

Charlie will apologize one more time for running off.

Bill will accept his apology as long as Charlie doesn’t say anything to their mom.

Charlie will happily agree to this.

According to Bill, the Portkey should be activating very soon.

As for your friends, they will finish packing things up just in time.

Before you leave the place, Merula will apologize to Charlie.

Charlie will smile and accept her apology.

Bill will ask if everyone is ready to head back to Gringotts.

All of you will gather around the Portkey, and moments later, you’ll be transported to Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

Two of the goblin bankers will instantly recognize you.

You’ll instantly object to being called a scoundrel.

Bill will quickly take your side and explain that you are with him.

Shortly after, you will approach Griphook, and he’ll ask Bill if he has the egg.

Bill will simply nod and say that he’s gotten it.

He’ll immediately ask to see the egg.

Apparently, that is indeed Urgruff’s egg.

Bill will then admit that he had the help with retrieving the egg.

Griphook will be interested to learn more about what happened.

Explaining what happened requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task with an empty energy bar.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all of the available actions. There are 5-cost actions tied to Charlie and your character. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

When you’re done, you’ll sum things up.

Bill will admit it was you who defeated the dragon.

His boss won’t mind him being honest.

Griphook will then turn to you and ask you to consider a career in curse-breaking after graduating. There are two options to choose from. These won’t have any effect on the outcome of the adventure, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

Shortly after, Bill will remind you it’s time to go back to Hogwarts.

Barnaby will propose an alternative option.

Merula won’t really be interested in doing that.

And neither will Penny.

Even Charlie will be okay with taking a break from encountering dangerous creatures.

But after hearing his brother’s words, he’ll already start missing the dragon sanctuary.

This will mark the end of Adventures in Curse-Breaking. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward.

This will unlock a brand new dragon-themed outfit you can use from now on.

Well, that sure was an adventure worth remembering. You managed to help Bill successfully complete his assignment and everyone returned back unharmed. There is no doubt that this isn’t the last time you will see some dragons, but until next time, thank you for reading and see you soon with more amazing adventures!
