Yer a Prefect
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Yer a Prefect Side Quest for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. This quest is available for all of the Fifth-Year students who completed Become a Prefect adventure near the end of Year Four. This Side Quest will pretty much mark the start of your Prefect obligations.
Shortly after the beginning of the Fifth Year, Bill will ask you to meet him in the Prefect’s Bathroom. Proceed there once you’re ready.
When you arrive, you’ll notice that Charlie is there as well. Your first task involves checking out the bathroom. Completing it requires earning five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass, which shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve.
You’ll need around thirty energy to finish this one. Assuming you had full energy bar before the start, this should easily be doable in one go.
Once you’re done, Bill will explain that being a Prefect is not as easy as it seems. You’ll have a lot of responsibilities and obligations that come up with that badge.
One of those responsibilities involves helping first-years. This exactly is your next task. However, you’ll have to wait for three hours before you can proceed.
When you’re able to continue, head to the Artefact Room to Meet Elora Dunn, the first-year student sorted into your House.
Once you’re there, you’ll learn that the poor girl has been bullied which is the reason she contacted you.
She even got injured by the one who bullied her, so you’ll come up with the idea to teach her how to brew Wiggenweld Potion, which can definitely come in handy in these situations. This task requires you to earn five stars within three hours with one star being needed to pass.
Sadly, there aren’t many high-cost actions here, so you might end up needing close to sixty energy to finish this task.
After you’re done, Elora will drink the Wiggenweld Potion and she’ll feel much better.
Sadly, she is still very frightened of her bully. She’ll ask you for advice. You can respond in three ways. Each of those options will lead to the same outcome, so it is recommended to pick either the first or the third to gain some extra attribute points.
You’ll then offer to teach her how to duel. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Training Grounds.
After talking for a while, you’ll get the task to duel Elora. The task window will display her attribute levels, which are hilarious, to say the least.
Because of the huge difference in attribute levels, you’ll be able to defeat her with a single spell cast.
Despite losing, she’ll be pretty glad that you helped her. She’ll even tell your Head of House that you’re performing your Prefect duties very well.
For the next task, you need to check on Tulip. Apparently, she’s preparing some sort of mischief. Once again, there is a waiting period of three hours before you can continue, so you’ll have to wait for a while or spend some gems to speed things up.
Either way, when the waiting time is over, proceed to the Castle Grounds to check on Tulip.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice that there are a lot of Nifflers there. By the looks of it, she set them loose and is planning to send them to Hogwarts.
If that happens, the entire castle will be ruined, so you have to do something about it. Handling those Nifflers is an hour-long task which requires you to earn at least one out of five stars to pass.
You’ll need approximately thirty energy to complete this task, which is easily doable with a single energy bar.
Once you’re done, you’ll need to cast the Freezing Charm to immobilize all of the Nifflers before you can safely take them back to their pens.
You’ll then get a tough decision – you can either report Tulip for this mischief or you can decide to spare her. For the second option, you need her friendship at level five or above. Keep in mind that reporting her will, later on, grant you ten House Points.
You’ll then have to report to the Headmaster’s Office. Proceed there when you are ready.
As you arrive, you’ll notice that Tonks is also there. Professor Dumbledore will congratulate you on becoming a Prefect and he’ll ask how do you like it so far. You have three options to respond with. All choices will lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
If you decided to report Tulip, the Headmaster will award you ten House Points for that. Afterward, he’ll tell you that Tonks got caught performing the prank you recommended to her in the previous year.
He’ll then ask you to think of a fitting punishment for Tonks since all of the traditional ones have been inefficient so far. This task requires you to obtain five stars within three hours to pass. Because of that, you want to avoid starting it when low on energy.
You’ll need around fifty-five energy to complete this, depending on the actions you do.
When you are done, you’ll tell the Headmaster that you’ve come up with the idea to hunt some dangerous creatures to prepare Tonks for her future career as an Auror. Dumbledore will find this idea quite interesting and he’ll ask what kind of creatures would you like to hunt. You have three options to choose from. At the moment, all of the options lead to the same outcome, but there is a possibility that this choice could have an influence on one of the future chapters or adventures, so feel free to go with your gut and pick the option you find most exciting.
For the final task of this quest, you need to meet Bill at the Three Broomsticks in three hours. If you don’t feel like waiting, you can spend some gems and remove the waiting time entirely.
When you get there, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.
You’ll then join Charlie, Bill and four of the former Prefects. After talking for a bit, you’ll get the task to catch up with them. This eight-hour task requires you to earn at least one out of five stars to pass.
There are a lot of interesting lines of dialogue during this task, so be sure to check them out. Sadly, most of the actions have fairly low cost, so it could take you close to one hundred energy to complete this.
Once you are done, each of the former Prefects will give you a piece of advice. Shortly after, this quest will be completed. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
Now that was an exciting and fun quest! You’re slowly stepping up and taking responsibilities as a Prefect. There is no doubt that in the upcoming years you will face more challenges, but with hard work and dedication, you can surely overcome it and become one of the best Prefects in the history of Hogwarts.
Thank you for reading and see you soon with more amazing adventures!
