Festival Fun Part 1
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for Festival Fun Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, and like most other adventures, it consists of four parts. During it, you’ll learn that Hogwarts is planning a celebration of magic. You will get to attend outdoor lessons, dance and duel at the festival, and most importantly, go on a date with a person you fancy! Once you start the adventure, Hagrid will ask you to meet him in his garden, so go there as soon as possible.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 6 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

You’ll be curious to know why Hagrid wanted to meet with you.

He will give you a hint.

Charlie will instantly assume it has something to do with dragons.

Unfortunately, he’ll be in for a disappointment.

Your Gryffindor friend will ask Hagrid about the news.

He’ll give Charlie a cheeky response.

Tonks will be the first one to figure out what’s going on.

However, you won’t mind helping Hagrid tend to his garden.

Doing this requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Tonks and Hagrid. Prioritizing these should save you some energy.

Hagrid will thank you for helping him and he’ll mention the festival.

As it seems, this celebration of magic should be quite eventful.

There is even a school dance planned.

Charlie will be curious to know which activity you are most excited about. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t impact the story in any significant way, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll thank Hagrid for informing you about the festival.

And he’ll once again thank you for your help.

Tonks will then mention something quite interesting.

Charlie will add that many of your friends will likely be interested in being your festival date.

You’ll be very excited to hear that.

Head to the Great Hall when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you’ll get to chat with some of your friends.

As it seems, everyone is already talking about the festival.

Perhaps you can get more information by asking around.

To learn more about the festival, you’ll need to acquire five stars within an hour. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy is low.

Remember to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. Those with 5-cost are linked to your character and Jae.

Once you’re done, the three of you will sum up everything you’ve learned.

Apparently, both Penny and Merula are competing to become the festival ambassadors.

Tonks will ask you who you would vote for. This choice will be referenced later on, and if you plan on going on a date with either Penny or Merula, it is somewhat recommended to choose them here. If you are interested in dating someone else, you should pick the third option.

Charlie will point out that you also have a solid chance to be elected, which will confuse you a bit.

Still, you’ll be curious to know more about the festival ambassadors.

Tonks will quickly answer your question.

You will also be surprised that no one mentioned their dates.

Perhaps everyone is secretly thinking about it?

This will confuse you even more.

Tonks will laugh at you for not noticing it.

You’ll quickly take a look around, and you will realize that many of your friends are thinking about something…

Once you figure out the obvious, Tonks will look at you with a huge smile.

You’ll point out that it’s time for outdoor lessons.

Head to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

Professor McGonagall will greet everyone warmly.

She’ll start the lesson by saying that the spell you’ll be learning should only be attempted outside.

Tulip will be curious to know more about it.

The Professor will be a bit more specific.

Apparently, you’ll be learning how to transfigure a gobstone into a skunk.

Learning this spell requires obtaining five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Badeea and Professor McGonagall. Prioritize their actions if you want to save some energy.

Once you’re done practicing, the Professor will task you with demonstrating the spell.

Trace the wand movement to transfigure a gobstone into a skunk.

Thankfully, the spell will work as intended.

Unfortunately for Andre, his spell won’t be as successful.

Talbott will point out the silver lining.

Badeea will ask you an interesting question.

You’ll give her a cheerful answer.

Andre will say that he is too focused on the style to think about dancing or dating.

He’ll ask if you understand him. There are two options to respond with. If you like Andre, it is somewhat recommended to agree with him. Otherwise, feel free to pick either option.

In any case, he will say that he’s preparing the outfit for you, and he’ll admit you’re his fashion muse.

Talbott will use the opportunity to confirm that you are going to the festival.

As for Badeea, she will calmly ask if you’ll be bringing a date.

You’ll answer her question and ask if either of them is bringing a date to the festival.

Both of them will shy away from answering.

Suddenly, Professor McGonagall will yell for everyone to leave the courtyard.

You will then notice what happened.

Needless to say, all of you will run away immediately.

Next, you’ll have an outdoor Potions class. Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready.

When you arrive, you’ll get to interact with some of your friends.

You’ll approach Barnaby and Merula and ask them if you smell.

Merula, being her usual self, will be the first one to answer your question.

Barnaby will make a funny remark on that.

You’ll ask Merula to be slightly more specific.

As it seems, she is very much interested in becoming a festival ambassador.

You’ll just stare at her with a confused look.

Moments later, Professor Snape will arrive. You will notice that he isn’t particularly keen on teaching his class in the outdoor environment.

Barnaby, on the other hand, will be quite excited.

Snape will kindly ask him to be a bit more subtle.

Your Slytherin friend will immediately comply.

The Professor will then mention the incident that occurred during the Transfiguration class.

It seems that you’ll be reviewing the potion ingredients found outdoors.

This requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Merula and the Professor. Focus on those if you are interested in saving some energy.

Once the review is done, Snape will begin quizzing the students… starting with you.

He’ll ask you what a Lacewing is. The correct answer is ‘A flying insect’.

He’ll then ask Merula a question.

The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will hesitate to answer, which is why you will be asked the same question.

The correct answer is ‘Fluxweed’.

Merula will be slightly frustrated for not getting more time to demonstrate her knowledge.

Professor Snape will then ask you one last question.

The correct answer to this one is ‘Polyjuice Potion’.

Once again, Merula will openly display her frustration.

Shortly after, Professor Snape will dismiss the class.

Once he leaves, you will notice that Merula is still upset.

You’ll ask her about it.

Her answer will catch you off guard.

If you dated Merula before, you’ll get some additional lines of dialogue.

In any case, Merula will state that she is determined to become a festival ambassador.

Moments later, she’ll turn around and leave the Training Grounds.

You’ll ask Barnaby if he knows why she’s behaving like that.

He’ll simply say that Merula is jealous of you.

According to him, some interesting rumors are circling around.

You’ll point out that you aren’t even trying to become a festival ambassador.

Still, that exactly is one of the reasons why everyone likes you.

You will then ask Barnaby about what Merula said earlier.

He’ll simply say that everyone would be lucky to be your date. If you dated Barnaby before, you will get some extra lines of dialogue.

You’ll decide to think about everything. Also, there is a Charms class you should be attending soon.

Barnaby will remind you to take your note.

This will slightly confuse you.

He’ll point out to the note lying on the ground before leaving the Training Grounds.

You’ll take a look and notice a note with a gobstone on it.

Upon reading it, you will realize you have a secret admirer.
