Take the O.W.L.s Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Take the O.W.L.s Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you learned some details about the O.W.L.s exams and you took the Potions O.W.L. However, there is still a long way to go until your exams are over.

Walkthrough

Head to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready to continue. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. Charlie will explain that Andre wasn’t studying much for his O.W.L.s since he wants to become a professional Quidditch player.

You’ll decide to reason with Andre and convince him to take his O.W.L.s seriously.

The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost of each attempt.

This task functions quite similarly to drinking butterbeer with friends. Pick the most reasonable lines and you’ll be fine. The attribute requirements are quite low, which will pretty much trivialize the difficulty of this task. Below are some of the questions and answers to them

• I know I want to play Quidditch. – There’s no guarantee it’ll happen. (Courage)
• Why do I need good marks? – Education is important. (Knowledge)
• You don’t think I’m good enough? – I do, but backup plans are smart. (Knowledge)
• I’m already being scouted. – Nothing’s set in stone yet. (Empathy)
• Wouldn’t it be better to practice? – You practice loads. (Courage)
• Star players don’t need backups. – What can it hurt to have one? (Empathy)
• What could happen? -Having a career-ending injury. (Courage)

Once you are done, you will receive some friendship experience with Andre.

In the end, he will see the wisdom of your words.

He’ll ask if you’ve ever considered a career outside of academics. You have two response options. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

You’ll then get to revise for the upcoming Charms O.W.L. in your Common Room. Proceed there when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your housemates.

This part will play out quite differently, depending on the House you’re in. Dialogue lines will vary significantly, but eventually, you’ll get to the revision part which is fairly similar for each House. This task requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

As always, prioritize the reward actions to save energy.

Once you’re done, Rowan will be curious to know if you’re interested in becoming a professor. If this is something you’d like for your character, then pick “Yes” for an answer.

Now is the time for your next O.W.L. Head to the Charms classroom when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll be able to tap on the speech bubbles above some of your classmates to see what they have to say to you.

You’ll get to ask Professor Tofty a question before the test begins. None of the options will significantly impact the story, but you will be able to learn some additional information. In any case, feel free to ask him any of those questions.

Shortly after, your Charms O.W.L. will start.

The first part of the test is the written exam. You’ll need to answer four questions about various spells and their uses. Below are all the questions and the answers to them.

• The Vermillious charm produces what colour sparks? – Red
• What is the incantation for the Exploding Charm? – Bombarda
• In which scenario would you use Cistem Aperio? – To Open a Chest
• Who invented the Cheering Charm? – Felix Summerbee

When you’re done with the written part, the practical exam will begin.

First, you’ll need to demonstrate the Levitation Charm. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so. Be careful when doing this since you don’t want to go too fast or you might risk failing the task.

Next, you’ll be tasked with performing the Eradication Spell.

After that, you’ll need to cast the Engorgement Charm on a cauldron in front of you. This should prove trivial, given how many times you used it on Butterbeer.

And lastly, you’ll be tasked with terminating the effects of Levitation Charm by casting Finite Incantatem. As before, don’t rush this. Do it steadily and you shouldn’t have any problems.

The Charms O.W.L. will now come to an end. Soon after you are done, Penny will express worries about Tonks and ask you to locate her so you can find out what’s bothering her. Penny will have a lot of rewriting to do, which is why she’ll need your assistance.

Proceed to Zonko’s Joke Shop when you are ready to meet Tonks. Once you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Tonks is apparently nervous about her O.W.L.s. She wants to be an Auror, but in order to achieve that, she must succeed in the exams.

You’ll have three options to respond to her. Each of those will lead to the same outcome, but with some slight dialogue differences, so pick the option you find the most preferable for the situation.

You’ll then get to shop with her and distract her from all the worries. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass. Because of that, it is not recommended to start this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus actions tied to your character and the fanged frisbee. Focus on those actions to save energy.

When you’re finished, Ben will show up and inform you that Madam Pomfrey asked him to assist anxious students to relax. You have two options to respond to this. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so pick the option you prefer.

Tonks will receive some helpful advice from Ben.

You’ll come up with a funny idea that might help her get her confidence back.

Proceed to the caretaker’s office for the next task. Basically, your idea will involve tricking Filch to help Tonks relax.

Sadly, she’ll fail to find it relevant to becoming an Auror. You have three options to respond to this. Each of these will lead to the same outcome, so pick the one you want.

In the end, you’ll decide to find Filch’s disciplinary records and transfigure them into a rat.

To complete this task, you’ll need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.

Once you are done, you’ll learn that Flich was keeping notes on Professor Tofty.

Tonks will transfigure the notes into a rat, and she’ll be quite happy while doing so.

She’ll then ask if you picked a career you’d like to pursue once you graduate from Hogwarts. You have three response options. None of these will heavily impact the story, so pick whichever option you prefer.

Tonks will suggest you become an Auror and she’ll ask if you’d like that kind of job. If that is a career you’d like for your character, be sure to pick the first option.

Shortly after that, the time will come for you to take your next O.W.L. Head to the Transfiguration classroom when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. Not long after that, your Transfiguration O.W.L. will begin.

Like before, you’ll need to go through the written part of the exam first. Below are all the questions and answers to them.

• Which of the following is NOT a type of Transfiguration? – Summoning
• How many Principal Exceptions are there to Gamp’s Law of Elemental Transfiguration? – Five
• Which of the following would be the easiest to Transfiguration? – Porcupine to Pincushion
• Which best describes the effects of a Switching Spell? – Switching Two Targets Simultaneously

After that, it’s time for the practical exam. First, you’ll need to Transfigure a rat into a water goblet. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

Next, you’ll need to cast Serpensortia. This is perhaps, one of the easiest tracing tasks.

After that, you’ll be tasked with casting the Vanishing Spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so. This is one of the trickier tasks, so be careful while doing it.

Lastly, you’ll need to perform the Switching Spell by switching a Pillow and Armadillo.

This will conclude your Transfiguration O.W.L. Professor Tofty will praise your skills by mentioning that you are skilled enough to Transfigure paper into rats. Could he perhaps be alluding to something… You have two options to reply with. Bear in mind that this choice will lead to different outcomes, so if you want to see some additional dialogue, pick the first option.

If you go with the first choice, you’ll also have the option to tell him that Filch has notes on him. Whether you want to do that or not is entirely up to you.

Not long after that, Part 2 of Take the O.W.L.s adventure will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 5 Gems and 100 Empathy.
