Take the O.W.L.s Part 4

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for Take the O.W.L.s Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you took Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures O.W.L.s. There are only two more exams to go until you’re done.

Head to the History of Magic classroom when you are ready to take your next O.W.L. Upon arriving, you can check out what some of your classmates have to say by tapping on their speech bubbles.

Before the exam starts, Badeea will ask if you think Ismelda was telling the truth about someone spying on you. There are two options to reply with. Each will lead to a different dialogue, but the overall outcome of the story won’t be affected, so feel free to go with the one you prefer.

Shortly after, the exam will start.

Unlike the other ones, this O.W.L. will only consist of a written part. In other words, all eight mini-tasks will be questions. Below are all of them as well as all of the answers.

• Which clause in the Code of Wand Use prohibits non-humans from using wands? – Clause Three
• What event followed the Soap Blizzard of 1378? – Economic Crash
• Why did Liechtenstein not attend the first meeting of the International Confederation of Wizards? -Their stance on Troll Rights
• In what year was Gringotts Wizarding Bank founded? – 1474
• How many times did Wendelin the Weird allow herself to be caught by witch-hunters? – Forty-Seven
• Who killed Emeric the Evil in a duel? – Egbert the Egregious
• What Goblin led the 18th-century Goblin Rebellions? – Urg the Unclean
• What was the primary reason for the creation of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy? – Persecution by Muggles

When you are done, Professor Tofty will tell you that countless wizards and witches have been searching for the Cursed Vaults before you, but so far none of them have been successful.

And as it turns out, you could end up in the history books one day. You have two options to respond to this. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so pick whichever option you want.

Shortly after that, Diego will arrive and ask if you want to practice for the Defence Against the Dark Arts O.W.L. with him and Merula.

Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready. You will learn it was Merula’s idea to have you join them for practice.

This will embarrass her quite a bit.

She’ll say that you probably don’t know the incantation of the Snake-Vanishing Spell. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is Vipera Evanesca. However, picking one of the incorrect options will lead to some interesting dialogue lines, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

You’ll then get to practice spellcasting. To complete this task, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There is a reward action tied to Diego. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.

Once you’re done, you’ll notice Merula is quite confident that you’re aiming to become a Curse-Breaker. If this is a career you’d like to pursue, then be sure to tell her that.

After talking some more, you’ll receive the next task. Proceed to the Headmaster’s office when you are ready.

Professor Dumbledore will welcome you and inform you that the other guests have not yet arrived. You’ll want to know who the other visitors are. And if you assumed he would discuss your profession, he will suggest that you can talk about it later because he has something significant to show you right now.

To complete this task, you will need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There is a reward action linked to Dumbledore’s desk. Prioritize these actions if you want to save energy.

When you are done, Professor Tofty will arrive to talk to the Headmaster.

As it turns out, he was the one who’s been spying on you this whole time.

Professor Tofty will explain why he was asked by the Ministry to keep an eye on you. Professor Tofty will reply to Dumbledore that the Ministry is concerned about the Cursed Vaults and, given reports that dark wizards are actively pursuing them, the Ministry is concerned that you are associated with dark wizards. That’s why the ministry hired Professor Tofty to spy on you.

He will apologize to Professor Dumbledore for keeping it a secret. If you told him that Filch is keeping notes on him, you’ll get an additional line of dialogue.

Shortly after, he’ll leave, and you’ll come out of hiding. Dumbledore will give you one last piece of advice before you go.

There is a waiting period of five hours before you’re able to take your final O.W.L. If the remaining time on the adventure is above eight hours or so, you should be fine with waiting. Otherwise, you might want to consider using some gems or timer toffees to speed things up.

Either way, once you’re able to continue, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom. When you get there, you’ll be able to tap on the speech bubbles above some of your classmates to see what they have to say. Like before, you’ll first need to do the written portion of the exam. Below are all the questions and the answers to them.

• What is the incantation for the Snake-Vanishing Spell? – Vipera Evanesca
• In which of these scenarios would you use the Impediment Jinx? – To Slow a Rushing Opponent
• What does the Reductor Curse do? -Blasts Objects into Pieces
• What is the incantation for the Tongue-Tying Curse? – Mimblewimble

When you are done, you’ll have to go through the practical section of the exam.

First, you’ll need to cast a protective enchantment on the classroom. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so. Be careful not to go too fast or you might risk failing.

Next, you’ll be tasked with casting the Boggart-Banishing Spell.

This should be a relatively easy tracing task.

You’ll then need to use the Stunning Spell. This is also one of the easier tracing tasks.

Lastly, you’ll be tasked with casting the Counter-Curse. This is perhaps, one of the hardest tracing tasks, so be extra careful while doing it.

Professor Tofty will congratulate everyone on completing their O.W.L.s. All that’s left is to wait for the results.

You’ll then confront him and tell him you know he’s been sent by the Ministry to spy on you.

You’ll get the chance to ask him one question. Each of the options will provide you with some information, but in general, none will affect the outcome of the story, so feel free to ask the question you want.

Shortly after that, you’ll get your final task. Head to the Great Hall when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. You’ll then get to discuss O.W.L.s with your friends until your Head of House is ready to talk to you.

To complete this task, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass. Because of that, it is not recommended to start this task if you are out of energy.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus actions tied to Chiara and Talbott. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Once you’re done, your Head of House will be ready to talk to you about your future career.

You’ll be asked if you’ve made a decision about it. You have two options to respond with. Both will lead to pretty much the same outcome, so feel free to pick whichever one you want.

Shortly after, Professor Tofty will appear and wish you the best of luck.

And most importantly, he’ll give you the results of your O.W.L.s.

You’ll be able to see the results for each of the subjects. Keep in mind that even if you got everything wrong, your scores will never go below Acceptable. You can check these at any time by tapping on the envelope in your Dormitory.

With this, Take the O.W.L.s adventure will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 5 Gems and 1200 Experience Points. You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

Regardless of your scores, you’ll always receive the Silver Owl pendant.

If you managed to get an Outstanding score in all of the classes, you will also get the Golden Owl Pendant, which has some nice additional details.

This was perhaps one of the most important adventures so far and one that will likely be heavily referenced in the future, especially in Year 7 during your N.E.W.T.s. Now you can take some well-deserved break from studying and focus on finding the remaining Cursed Vaults.
