The All-Wizard Tournament Part 1
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for The All-Wizard Tournament Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above. During it, you will learn that Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn decided to host The All-Wizard Tournament for some of the most talented witches and wizards at Hogwarts, handpicked by Professor Dumbledore. The All-Wizard Tournament is sort of a preparation for The Triwizard Tournament. During it, you and your classmates will compete for the title of All-Wizard Champion. However, it won’t be an easy task since you will have to overcome many difficult challenges in order to win this tournament. Once you start the adventure, you will have 3 days and 20 hours to complete it, which should be more than enough time. Upon starting, you’ll be tasked to go to the Care of Magical Creatures to hear the announcement by Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn. Proceed there when you are ready.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 6 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]
When you arrive, you will notice that many of your classmates are there. If you want, you can interact with some of them before continuing.
Hagrid will be very glad to see all of you. In fact, he’ll hardly be able to hide his excitement.
Professor Kettleburn will ask if you are familiar with the Triwizard Tournament. There are three options to respond with. None of these will have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.
Shortly after, both of them will start explaining things about the Triwizard Tournament.
Tulip will be the first one to start asking questions about it.
Professor Kettleburn will kindly sate her curiosity.
The most powerful witch at Hogwarts will be very eager to compete, by the looks of it.
Unfortunately, the Triwizard Tournament wasn’t exactly the reason why any of you were invited here.
However, there might be a chance it will make a return, which is why you were gathered.
In fact, any of you could be Hogwarts’ next Champion.
Barnaby will be very surprised to hear that.
According to Hagrid, it was Professor Dumbledore himself who handpicked all of you.
As for the competition, Professor Kettleburn will be pleased to announce the All-Wizard Tournament.
Basically, should Triwizard Tournament return anytime soon, Professor Dumbledore wants Hogwarts’ best students to be prepared for it.
Professor Kettleburn will then start explaining things in detail.
Learning about the All-Wizard Tournament requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.
There are 5-cost actions linked to Professor Kettleburn, Barnaby, and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.
When they’re done explaining, Professor Kettleburn will congratulate all of you for being chosen to compete in the tournament.
As it appears, you will have to overcome quite a few challenges in order to win this tournament.
Charlie will ask an obvious question.
Unfortunately, you will somehow have to figure it out and prepare for anything.
Hagrid will tell you that Jacob was once considered for a Champion of Hogwarts.
Needless to say, this will catch you by surprise.
Also, participating in this tournament might be good preparation for facing the final cursed vaults.
In itself, this will be enough to motivate you to compete in the All-Wizard Tournament.
Moments later, Penny will ask you to meet her in the Great Hall. Apparently, she wants to hear all about the tournament, so better not to keep her waiting.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends. Simply tap on their speech bubbles to do so.
It looks like your Hufflepuff friend is very excited about the upcoming event.
You’ll share your motivations with her, Ben, and Barnaby.
As for Barnaby, he’s more excited about being picked to compete.
After all, he’s still puzzled about why Dumbledore choose him.
Penny will be curious to know what your greatest strength is. There are three options to choose from. These won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.
Moments later, Charlie, Tulip, and Tonks will approach the rest of you. Naturally, Penny will be very happy to see them.
As for Charlie, he’s still puzzled about the first task. Perhaps it is something related to dragons?
You’ll suggest brainstorming some ideas to figure out what the first task is.
This requires earning five stars within an hour. All of the stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy is low.
There are 5-cost actions linked to Tulip and Ben. Prioritize them if you’re looking to save some energy.
Sadly, after all the brainstorming, you still won’t be able to figure it out.
You’ll suggest researching some of the past Triwizard Tournament tasks.
Proceed to the Library when you are ready.
Once you get there, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say to you.
Apparently, you weren’t the only ones who got this idea.
It looks like both Liz and Andre aren’t really interested in working with others.
Still, all of you will compete against each other fairly soon…
Barnaby is also very eager to try and win the All-Wizard Cup.
However, he’s more interested to use it in some… practical ways.
You and Tulip will kindly explain the purpose of the All-Wizard Cup to him.
After seeing Andre and Liz, Charlie will wonder if working together is a good idea. There are two options you can choose to reply with. While this choice won’t have any heavy effect on the story, it is somewhat recommended to pick the second option since your friends will react better to it.
Suddenly, Madam Pince will show up, annoyed by your loud conversation.
You’ll apologize and try to politely explain the situation.
Apparently, she already prepared some books about the Triwizard Tournament for you.
Studying the past Triwizard Tournaments requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you should avoid starting this task if you’re out of energy.
There are 5-cost actions tied to your character and one of the books. Focus on these if you want to save a bit of energy.
Once you’re done, you’ll realize why the Triwizard Tournament was canceled.
Hagrid will suddenly show up. Apparently, he’s heard a bit of your conversation.
You and your friends will confront him about the dangers of the upcoming competition.
Hagrid will calmly reply to all of you.
If you completed Year 6 Chapter 18, you will get some additional lines of dialogue. Since this delves heavily into spoiler territory, and the adventure is available for Year 5 students as well, the images of those dialogue lines won’t be shown here.
Hagrid will then start explaining things.
Charlie will immediately ask if any of the tasks will involve his favorite magical creatures.
Hagrid will remind him that the dragons are not the only magical creatures in the Wizarding World.
Tonks will quickly put two and two together.
It looks like Madam Pince’s patience is wearing thin.
You’ll thank Hagrid before you leave.
He’ll also tell you that your first task will start fairly soon.
Before that, the most powerful witch at Hogwarts will want to have a word with you. However, there is a waiting period of one hour before she’s ready. Simply wait until this timer runs out and regenerate your energy in the meantime.
Once the waiting time is over, head to the Training Grounds to meet with Merula.
When you arrive, you’ll notice that she and Ismelda are practicing, while Badeea is standing nearby, observing the two of them.
Upon greeting them, they will step away from the training dummies, and Badeea will be pleased to finally get the chance to practice for a while.
Apparently, they intentionally wanted to make your Ravenclaw friend wait.
You’ll be puzzled by their definition of “fun”.
Merula will remind you that the upcoming tournament is a competition.
Still, you will fail to see the logic behind their actions.
The most powerful witch at Hogwarts will be happy to explain it to you.
This requires earning five stars within an hour. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if you’re low on energy.
There are 5-cost actions linked to Merula and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
Upon completing the task, you’ll realize that Merula has quite a selfish approach when it comes to competing with others.
She’ll then explain why she wanted to meet with you.
You’ll simply tell her you don’t really know what the task is about.
Still, she’ll be very curious about the detail Hagrid mentioned.
In fact, she’ll urge you to tell her about it. There are three options to reply with. This choice will be referenced later on. If you like Merula, it is highly recommended to tell her the truth. Otherwise, you can feel free to pick the other two options.
Still, regardless of your choice, Merula will feel that she wasted time talking to you.
If you went on a date with her, you’ll get some additional lines of dialogue.
You’ll then ask why she is so interested in winning the tournament.
And her response is rather simple. She wants to show everyone she’s the most powerful witch at Hogwarts.
As for Ismelda, she has quite a different reason for wanting to win the competition.
Merula’s reaction will be priceless.
Shortly after, Ismelda will leave the place.
Apparently, the All-Wizard Tournament is having an effect on everyone.
Merula will remind you that you will more than likely be facing incredible dangers while competing. Once again, if you completed Year 6 Chapter 18, you will get some additional dialogue lines.
You’ll try your best to calm her down.
Still, she’ll be quite moody about the whole tournament, and she’ll ask you to leave her alone. Moments later, she’ll leave the Training Grounds.
As soon as she leaves, Badeea will approach you and share some interesting information about the first task with you.
It looks like she was doing some investigating on her own.
You’ll thank her for sharing the information with you. In fact, you’ll decide to repay her kindness by telling her about Nifflers.
However, it seems that she already knows that the first task involves these mischievous creatures.
Apparently, Badeea is way cleverer than she lets on.
Shortly after, Part 1 of The All-Wizard Tournament will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward.
The All-Wizard Tournament is about to begin! What will await you at the first task? And how are Nifflers related to it? Find out in the next part of this exciting adventure!
