The Christmas Holidays Part 3

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for The Christmas Holidays Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you and Rowan decided to investigate the rumors surrounding the Yeti sightings. You talked to Rita, Hagrid, and Professor Kettleburn and learned some valuable information in the process.

Later on, you found the creature on the Training Grounds. Since it was quite aggressive, you had to use magic to subdue it in order to prevent it from causing any harm.

Now that you’ve taken care of Yeti, you can head back to the Great Hall to meet your friends.

Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 1 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.

Once you get there, you will be able to interact with some of them by tapping on their speech bubbles.

Penny will be surprised that the Yeti exists, and even more that you battled it at school. She will ask if you feel better after fighting the legendary creature.

You’ll admit that you do feel better although you won’t know why. You still miss your family but you’ll say you are lucky to have such great friends. This is your Hogwarts family as Penny will point out.

You will then decide to come up with ideas that would make Christmas feel better.

This is an hour-long task with a passing requirement of five stars. Because of that, it is recommended to have full energy before starting it.

There are actions with bonus progress tied to Bill and Merula. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

In the end, Bill will suggest that each of you should choose one friend and give them a nice present.

You will get to choose one person to get the present for. There are three options to choose from. Keep in mind that this choice will HEAVILY impact the rest of the adventure, so choose wisely.

Each choice will bring something unique to the story. If you like Merula, it is somewhat recommended to choose her, but by all means, feel free to pick the friend you prefer.

After everyone chooses the recipient of their gift, you’ll be tasked with searching the castle for a suitable present.

When you are ready, proceed to the Artefact Room to meet Peeves.

When you get there, the Poltergeist will inform you that he has a perfect gift for your friend.

However, he won’t just hand it to you, so you’ll need to find it. This is your next task. Completing it requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is required to pass for students of Year 1-2. All five stars are needed to pass for students of Year 3+.

There is a bonus progress action tied to the skull on the shelf. Focusing on that action should save you a bit of energy.

Once you are done, you’ll find the perfect gift in case you chose Tonks or Merula.

Shortly after, you’ll get the task to find a gift for Penny. When you are ready, proceed to the Potions classroom to meet Rowan.

Upon arriving, the two of you will discuss Professor Snape for a bit. 

It seems that Snape went home for Christmas. You and Rowan will try to imagine what Snape’s house looks like. You’ll start guessing that it could have lots of shadows, bat spleens, and cauldrons. Basically, a Potions classroom with a bed in it.

Afterward, you’ll decide to find something nice for Penny.

Searching for Penny’s gift is a three-hour task with a passing requirement of one out of five stars.

Since only one star is needed to pass, you might want to consider earning a couple of stars and letting a timer expire. This way, you can save some energy, which is always nice during a timed adventure.

However, if you want to earn some additional rewards and a chance for Chocolate Frogs, it is recommended to fully complete this task.

Once the task is done, both you and Rowan will agree that giving Penny some potion ingredients would be a perfect present.

Now that you have the present, you can head back to the Great Hall to exchange gifts with your friends.

When you arrive, you’ll be able to check out what some of your friends have to say. Tap on the speech bubbles above them to do so.

By the looks of it, everyone managed to get something nice for one another. All that’s left is to exchange Christmas gifts.

Exchanging Christmas gifts is your next task. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete it. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Charlie and the gift box in front of your character. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

After the task is done, you will suggest that the person you chose earlier open their present first. In case you picked Tonks or Penny, you’ll be awarded a heartwarming scene and a hug.

If, however, you chose Merula, you’ll walk to her and give her the present. She will be quite surprised to see that you’ve actually got something for her.

Soon enough, she’ll change her expression and start opening the gift. You’ll be able to see a genuine smile of happiness radiating from her.

Once she sees what’s inside, she will reward you with a big smile and she’ll wish you a Happy Christmas.

Afterward, you’ll get to open your present. Everyone will be eager to see your reaction.

Inside the present box, you’ll find a lovely photo of all of your friends. Tonks will explain the details about it.

Penny will ask if you like it. You have two options to choose from. If you tell them you hate it, you’ll get your friends very sad, so it is HIGHLY recommended to pick the first option. After all, their gift is very nice and thoughtful.

Suddenly, Bill will remember that his parents are coming to visit, and he forgot to get presents for them.

Without a moment of hesitation, you will offer to help him find a perfect gift for Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

With that, Part 3 of The Christmas Holidays adventure will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 10 Gems.
