The Gift of Gratitude Part 4

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for The Gift of Gratitude Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you visited Charlie in the Hospital Wing and delivered your Christmas gift. He also had a nice gift for you and he told you that he recovered from his injury. Still, he wasn’t allowed to leave the castle, so he’ll be spending the Christmas holiday at Hogwarts. Later on, you helped Hagrid with picking up gifts for some magical creatures. Afterward, you met Charlie in the Library and helped him wrap up some presents for his siblings. Lastly, you had an amazing Christmas dinner with the Weasleys, and Hagrid asked you to come to the Training Grounds the next morning for a surprise. Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of three hours. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 6 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

Once the waiting time is over, proceed to the Training Grounds to meet with Hagrid.

You will ask him if you arrived in time for his surprise.

Luckily, you haven’t missed anything yet.

You will be curious to learn more about the magical creatures you’re waiting for.

Hagrid will tell you he wants to keep it a surprise.

He’ll ask you to help him toss some table scraps before the creatures arrive.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if you are low on energy.

There is a 5-cost action tied to your character. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

Once you are done, the scraps will be nicely spread all over the table.

Hagrid will ask you to wait a moment for the magical creatures to arrive.

Shortly after, plenty of Puffskeins will gather around the scraps, and they will happily start humming.

This will pleasantly surprise you.

Hagrid will tell you this is not the first time he’s brought them scraps.

You will be curious to know how he discovered those Puffskeins.

He’ll say it was a pure accident. Some years ago, he stumbled upon them by accident.

Needless to say, he was very happy to hear Puffskeins sing cheerfully.

Ever since then, those Puffskeins were coming back every year on Boxing Day morning.

Hagrid will ask if anyone has ever done something so nice for you. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to select the option you prefer.

He will tell you that everyone needs to feel appreciated sometimes, regardless of who they are.

You will ask him about Professor Snape.

Hagrid will tell you that even Snape would enjoy something.

This will give you an interesting idea.

You will decide to show Snape some appreciation for looking after Hogwarts.

However, you will have to act quickly if you are to make it in time for Boxing Day.

Thankfully, Charlie will be willing to help you with this. Proceed to the Herbology classroom when you are ready.

Charlie will be curious to know why you need his help.

You’ll inform him about the surprise Hagrid had for you.

You will say it reminded you of the rumor about Professor Snape.

Because of that, you decided to make a Boxing Day gift for him.

Charlie will be surprised by your suggestion.

He will ask why you are so determined to do something nice for Snape. There are two options to choose from. Other than some minor dialogue differences, this choice won’t influence the outcome of the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

You will try to convince Charlie to help you make a gift for the Professor.

In the end, your friend will agree to help you.

You will ask if he remembers what happened during the Christmas feast.

Charlie will nod.

You will assume that Snape lost his appetite because Hogwarts doesn’t serve his favorite dessert.

You will inform him about the ingredients used for Holiday Blancmange.

Charlie will ask if you have any idea where to acquire those ingredients.

You will be quite sure you can find some of them in the Herbology classroom.

Looking for the ingredients requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if you are out of energy.

There is a 5-cost action linked to some of the herbs. Prioritize it if you want to save some energy.

Luckily, you will manage to find some Mistletoe Berries.

And Charlie will find some Dirigible Plums.

He’ll ask you about the other ingredients.

You’ll tell him that there isn’t a lot of things you’ve yet to acquire.

Still, there is another problem that you’ll need to solve.

You will need to find a suitable spot to make the Holiday Blancmange.

Perhaps Hagrid might be able to help you with that.

Head to Hagrid’s Hut when you are ready.

You will ask Charlie if he saw Hagrid anywhere.

Unfortunately, he had some business to attend to, so he left earlier.

However, he liked your idea to make some holiday treat for Professor Snape.

He was even kind enough to share the recipe for Blancmange with Charlie.

Moments later, you will start cooking.

Making the holiday treat requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

The only 5-cost action here is linked to your character. Focus on your actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

The only ingredient left to add will be some ground cinnamon.

Unfortunately, there won’t be any of it in Hagrid’s Hut.

You will wonder if there’s anything else you can use instead of cinnamon.

According to Charlie, the only substitutes you could use are cloves and ginger.

You will be able to choose one of these as a substitute for cinnamon. This choice will have a slight impact on some dialogue later on, but it won’t change the outcome of the adventure, so feel free to take your pick.

Once you are done cooking, you will place the Blancmange on the table. Charlie will tell you to wait a bit before chilling it.

You’ll suggest using the Freezing Spell to speed things up since time isn’t exactly on your side.

Your Gryffindor friend will advise you to be careful.

You’ll take out your wand and prepare to cast the Freezing Spell. Trace the wand movement to do so.

Thankfully, the spell will work as intended, and you will be extremely satisfied with the results.

Charlie will be impressed by your skills.

You’ll humbly say that you weren’t the only one making the Blancmange.

All that’s left now is to deliver the treat to Professor Snape.

The next task doesn’t involve spending any energy, so proceed to the Great Hall as soon as possible.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the students. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

You will approach the Professor and ask if he could spare a moment of his time.

He’ll ask you to be quick.

You will tell Snape that the two of you wanted to make something for him as a token of appreciation for everything he’s done for Hogwarts.

You will present the Holiday Blancmange to him.

Snape will be curious about it.

You will explain why you wanted to make some Holiday Blancmange for him.

Charlie will ask him to give it a try.

At first, the Professor will be very reluctant to taste the treat you made for him.

You’ll do your best to convince Snape that you’re not trying to prank him.

Eventually, the Professor will agree to give it a try.

He’ll take the plate and try the dessert you made.

You will ask if he likes it.

Snape will tell you that the dessert doesn’t taste exactly the way he remembers.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

Charlie will ask if he hates the taste of it.

Thankfully, that won’t be the case, and the Professor will admit that the dessert has a very complex flavor.

You will cheekily ask if that means he likes it.

Snape will commend your culinary skills, in his own way.

He will thank you for the gift and wish you a Merry Christmas.

Moments later, Professor Snape will return to the High Table. Charlie will be slightly confused by this turn of events.

On the other hand, you will be pleasantly surprised by the way things played out.

On your way out, you will glance back at the Professor, and see him smiling happily at the treat you gave him.

This will mark the end of Part 4 of The Gift of Gratitude adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You will receive a Santa Gnome energy source that will be placed in your dormitory. You will be able to receive energy from it once a day.
