The Great Hogwarts Cook-Off Part 3

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for The Great Hogwarts Cook-Off Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you talked to Diego about joining the Cook-Off. He agreed to sign up, but he needed help with learning a spell that could make his delicious flan dance. You decided to ask Professor Flitwick for help, and thankfully, he was willing to teach Diego and you Locomotor spell. After that, you met with Tulip and talked about some final preparations for the competition. She realized that you need a host for the Cook-Off, so you went to see if Murphy would be interested. Initially, he was hesitant to accept the role, but after some convincing, he agreed to host the competition. Now that everything is in order, the Cook-Off can begin. Proceed to the kitchens when you are ready.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

Murphy will welcome everyone to the Great Hogwarts Cook-Off.

The crowd will look eager to see some cooking.

Murphy will then introduce Tulip and you.

Both of you will say a few words about the competition.

The contestants will look ready to start cooking.

Murphy will say that he expects a “clean” competition.

Tulip, on the other hand, will be quite sure that things could get messy.

Murphy will be curious to hear your opinion. There are two options to choose from. If you like Tulip, it is recommended to agree with her. If you like Murphy, you should agree with him.

Shortly after, he will introduce the judges.

They will say a few words about the competition.

You’ll ask if they are ready to check in on the contestants’ progress.

Mary will decide to go around and see how the dishes are coming along.

Inspecting the dishes requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions tied to Ismelda, Mary, and Rosa. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Tulip will figure out that Badeea and Ismelda are slightly worried about their dishes.

As for Jae and Diego, they will still have some work to do.

Murphy will be curious to hear what the judges think.

You’ll also wonder if there is anyone whose dish stands out above others.

Rosa will smile and say they are not yet ready to reveal anything.

Mary will tell you that each contestant still has a chance to win.

She’ll say that each dish is missing one element to be a masterpiece.

You’ll ask her to be a bit more specific.

Rosa will explain what’s missing from Jae’s and Diego’s dishes.

Mary will tell you about the things that could improve Badeea’s and Ismelda’s dishes.

You will notice that Ismelda is looking very frustrated, so you’ll ask if she is all right.

She clearly won’t be willing to take any criticism.

She’ll take out her wand, and prepare to fix her dough.

Unfortunately, her spell will backfire, and instead of fixing the dough, she will turn it into some sort of creature.

Everyone will be shocked to see that.

The creature will completely destroy Diego’s flan.

Your Hufflepuff friend will be horrified to see his hard work go to waste.

Tulip will say that you need to take care of the Dough Creature.

You will quickly take out your wand and cast the Eradication Spell on the creature.

Luckily, the spell will work as intended.

Unfortunately, the whole Cook-Off turned into a disaster.

Tulip will apologize to her Grans for letting them down.

With a sad look on her face, she will run away.

You will decide to go after her and see if she is all right.

You will need to wait four hours until Tulip is ready to meet with you. Since you will likely be out of energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard once the waiting time is over.

Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your classmates and see what they have to say.

You will notice Tulip sitting alone at the fountain.

She’ll say she is very embarrassed after what happened at the Cook-Off.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

Tulip will point out that the whole Cook-Off turned into a complete and utter disaster. You can choose whether you want to agree with her or not. If you like Tulip, it is recommended to select the second option.

Either way, you will say there is still time to salvage things.

Unfortunately, Tulip won’t be so sure about it.

You will decide to cheer her up a bit.

To do that, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There are two 5-cost actions linked to your character, so focus on your own actions if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

Tulip will thank you for being so supportive.

If the reason you signed up was to spend some time with Tulip, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

Your friend will feel a lot more optimistic about salvaging the Cook-Off. However, she’ll say there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Apparently, Diego is furious after Ismelda destroyed his flan.

According to some of the rumors, he even wants to challenge her to a duel.

You will decide to talk to Ismelda and convince her to apologize to Diego.

Head to the Artefact Room when you are ready to meet with Ismelda.

As soon as you open the door, Ismelda will raise her wand, ready to defend herself.

You’ll ask if you can have a moment of her time.

She’ll let out a sigh of relief upon seeing you.

You’ll ask if she is hiding out in the Artefact Room.

Ismelda will say that she doesn’t hide from anyone.

You will tease her slightly and say that she is certainly not hiding from Diego.

She’ll say she will curse him with Densaugeo if he tries going after her.

You will ask her if the rumors are true.

She will nod and say that Diego has gone completely mental.

Needless to say, she’ll not look forward to fighting one of the best duelers at Hogwarts.

You’ll ask if she considered apologizing to him.

Ismelda will point out that the whole thing was simply an accident. She never meant to destroy his flan.

She will ask if you believe her. There are two options to reply with. If you like Ismelda, it is recommended to pick the first option.

If you completed Crushed Side Quest, you will get some additional lines of dialogue here.

You will tell her you are sorry she feels that way.

She will say that she doesn’t care much about the Cook-Off.

She’ll even tell you she’s going to drop out of the competition.

You will say that you’ll talk to Diego and try your best to smooth things over with him.

Ismelda will be surprised to hear that.

You’ll tell her how much the competition means to Tulip, and you will ask her not to drop out.

She will point out that the judges hated her dish.

You will explain that they were only offering some constructive criticism in order to improve her dish.

You’ll also offer to help her perfect her recipe.

Ismelda will gladly accept your help.

Improving Ismelda’s recipe requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions linked to your character and a nearby cabinet. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

After talking about it, you will come up with some improvements for Ismelda’s recipe.

However, she still needs to figure out how to perfect the dough for the judges.

You’ll tell her to think about it while you go and try to convince Diego not to duel her.

Ismelda will be completely lost for words after your act of kindness.

You’ll smile and say there’s no need for her to thank you. Having her back in the competition is more than enough.

Next, you will need to find Diego and talk to him. Proceed to the Potions classroom when you are ready.

You will find Diego working on perfecting his flan.

Unfortunately, he will be upset about it, so you’ll ask him to tell you what’s wrong.

He’ll explain that the judges told him his flan had too much sugar, so he is trying to find the perfect mix.

Sadly, his anger is preventing him from staying focused.

He’ll blame Ismelda for destroying his flan.

You’ll tell him you already spoke to Ismelda, and the dough monster she created was an accident.

Diego will ask if you believe her.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

Either way, Diego will be determined to duel Ismelda to settle the score and restore his honor.

After that, he will be able to focus on perfecting his dancing flan.

You’ll tell him you were hoping he could call off his duel with Ismelda.

Needless to say, Diego won’t be willing to do that. There are two options for you to reply with. Both of these will end up with a similar outcome, so feel free to pick either one.

You’ll tell Diego that none of you should be fighting one another.

Instead, the whole competition should be about sharing and celebrating the dishes everyone learned from their families.

On top of that, Tulip also wants to impress her family.

Diego will say that dueling is an important tradition in his family.

You’ll ask him to tell you more about it, so that you can find a compromise.

Diego will be happy to tell you all about the Caplan family’s tradition of dueling.

Learning about tradition requires earning five stars within one hour. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Diego and a cauldron. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

You’ll learn that dueling is a way for his family to solve disputes and vent frustration.

You will ask him if you could duel him in Ismelda’s place.

That way, he can honor his family tradition, and Ismelda won’t be forced to duel him.

After that, everyone could go back to focusing on the competition.

Diego will be surprised by your request.

After thinking about it for a moment, he will accept your offer.

You’ll ask him to meet you on the Training Grounds when he is ready to duel.

You will have to wait four hours until Diego is ready. Given that you’ll likely be low on energy at this point, you should simply wait, and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Training Grounds once the waiting time is over.

Once Ismelda sees you approaching, she will thank you for dueling Diego for her.

You’ll tell her she is very welcome.

Tulip will admit she didn’t expect this turn of events.

You will mention the reason why you wanted to help with the Cook-Off.

Tulip will say she is hopeful that The Great Hogwarts Cook-Off can still continue.

She will ask if you are nervous about your duel with Diego. There are two options to reply with. This choice will be referenced later on, but it won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

Moments later, Diego will arrive.

You will ask him if he is going to forgive Ismelda after the duel is over.

Diego will give you his word.

Shortly after, the duel will start.

The task window will display all the relevant information, so hit Start when you are ready to begin.

The recommended attribute levels for this duel are very similar to your own. This means that the duel will always be challenging, regardless of your attribute levels. If you are struggling to win against Diego, one strategy involves going Aggressive during the first round and using Incendio. If you get the burning effect, you can go Aggressive or Sneaky during the second round and use Depulso or Flipendo. This combined with the burning effect of Incendio will allow you to win the duel in two rounds. However, this strategy is not always going to work, since you will have to rely on the burning effect, and if you get stunned, you will most likely lose. Still, using this strategy will give you a solid chance to win the duel, especially if you are having trouble.

Diego will be impressed by your dueling skills.

He will honor his word and forgive Ismelda.

Ismelda will be sure never to cross him again.

With the matter is settled, everyone can get back to the Cook-Off.

Tulip will tell you that her Grans had some suggestions to improve all the dishes.

She’ll say there’s some work to be done in order to impress them.

You’ll agree with her and suggest gathering all the contestants in the kitchens.
