The Rise of a Curse-Breaker Part 2

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Rise of a Curse-Breaker Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you talked to Wingardium Leviosa Kid and learned that he wants to become a curse-breaker. You also learned that his name is Wilfred Levi Kidd, and he asked you to be his mentor. You agreed to help him, and after doing some research in the Library, you’ve decided to introduce him to Bill Weasley. You asked Bill to let Levi and you join him on one of his missions for Gringotts. Before agreeing to it, Bill wanted Levi to understand the dangers of being a curse-breaker, so you went to talk to Beatrice about her experience of being a victim of the portrait curse. Even after hearing about it, Levi was still determined to become a curse-breaker, so you decided to visit Gringotts and meet up with Bill. Once you start this part, you’ll be met with four hours of waiting time. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 6 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

Head to Gringotts Wizarding Bank once the waiting time is over.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

Levi will find the place absolutely amazing.

The following line will differ, based on whether this is your first time visiting Gringotts or not.

Moments later, Bill will greet you. He will figure out that Levi made his decision.

Wilfred will tell him he is still very much determined to become a curse-breaker.

Bill will be glad to hear that.

He’ll then introduce Levi and you to Griphook.

The following lines will differ, based on whether or not you completed Adventures in Curse-Breaking.

Bill will say that he invited Levi and you to join him on his new assignment.

Griphook will start explaining the details of the mission.

Listening to Griphook requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Griphook, Levi, Odbert, and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You will learn that the mission involves finding a treasure buried in the Forbidden Forest.

And by the looks of it, the treasure is located in the Red Cap’s hole.

Griphook will say that the bank recently asked one of their clients to pay their debt back.

However, instead of doing so, the client decided to bury the treasure.

You will tell Griphook there’s nothing to worry about.

Bill will say that the mission seems pretty straightforward compared to some of the other ones.

If you’ve completed Adventures in Curse-Breaking, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

However, Bill will want to make sure everything goes according to plan. He will want to know how you will behave if the situation becomes dangerous. There are two options to reply with. Neither of those will have any big impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after, the three of you will head to the Forbidden Forest.

Proceed to the Red Cap’s hole when you are ready.

Bill will suggest finding the treasure quickly and returning it to Griphook.

Much to everyone’s surprise, you’ll notice a Sphinx guarding the treasure.

By the looks of it, you will have to defeat the Sphinx in order to claim the treasure.

You will wonder how to defeat this creature. If you are a member of the Sphinx Club, your character will mention it.

Bill will say that you need to ask the Sphinx your question.

You’ll turn to the creature and ask how to defeat it.

Sphinx will say that you need to solve three riddles and obtain the ‘Gifts of Hogwarts’.

However, there is a catch. Failing to complete the Sphinx’s quest will have dire consequences.

Levi will quickly realize that the creature is serious about the threat.

You will ask if he is starting to have second thoughts about his decision to become a curse-breaker.

Levi will say that he is not planning on giving up his dream.

He’ll ask if you have any tips for what to do when you need to muster up some courage. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t have any impact on the outcome of the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

Levi will thank you for making him feel better.

You will let him talk to the Sphinx.

Levi will tell the creature that the three of you accept its challenge.

The Sphinx will say that you need to solve a riddle in order to find the first ‘Gift of Hogwarts’.

You’ll tell the Sphinx you are ready.

The creature will give you the clue.

Bill will wonder what the answer might be.

You will suggest figuring it out together.

Solving the first riddle requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to your character and Levi. Focus on those if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

Unfortunately, neither you nor Bill will be able to figure out the answer to the riddle.

Levi will say that he knows the answer.

He’ll tell you he realized that the object you are looking for is made of metal and can fly.

Bill will ask if he is talking about a Nimbus racing broom.

Levi will smile and say he was thinking about a different object. He will then give you a hint.

Bill and you will immediately realize he is talking about the Golden Snitch.

You will praise Levi for figuring out the answer.

The Sphinx will say that you need to return with the first ‘Gift of Hogwarts’ in order to find out whether you are right about the answer or not.

In other words, you will need to find a Golden Snitch and bring it to the Sphinx.

However, it won’t be an easy task.

You will decide to pay a visit to Andre and see if he can help you.

Head to the Transfiguration classroom once you are ready to continue.

Andre will be curious why you are looking for him.

He’ll ask if you have a fashion emergency. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t affect the story in any meaningful way, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

You will introduce Levi to Andre.

Your friend will recall him as the student who had trouble with Wingardium Leviosa.

Levi will say he is trying hard to change that.

You’ll say that you are helping him become a curse-breaker.

You will praise Levi’s skills for solving puzzles.

Bill will ask Andre if he knows how to obtain a Golden Snitch.

Andre will make a funny joke about it.

He’ll then ask why you need a Golden Snitch.

You’ll tell him you are trying to defeat a Sphinx.

He’ll say that you could theoretically ask Madam Hooch for a Golden Snitch.

Unfortunately, he’ll doubt that she would be willing to just let you take one.

You will ask him about the Golden Snitches that were previously used.

Andre will say that answering such a question isn’t so simple.

Levi will say that he’d like to hear the answer.

Learning about Golden Snitches requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Andre and Bill. Focus on their actions if you want to save some energy.

According to Andre, each Golden Snitch forms a bond with the first person who touches it.

Also, a new Golden Snitch needs to be used for each game.

Andre will nod and say that once a Snitch is caught, it is forever tied to the player who captured it.

You will ask him where a used Golden Snitch end up after the match.

Unfortunately, Andre won’t be able to answer that question.

Levi will wonder if there is a possibility to find a used Golden Snitch on the black market.

Bill will like his idea.

Unfortunately, neither of them will know where to start.

Luckily, you have a friend who might be able to help.

You will suggest visiting Jae in the kitchens to see if he can help you find a Golden Snitch.

Proceed to the Kitchens when you are ready to continue.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

Jae will be surprised to see you in the kitchens again.

You will tell him you need his help to acquire an item.

This will pique Jae’s curiosity.

Levi will tell him you are looking for a used Golden Snitch.

Jae will tease him about his trouble with Wingardium Leviosa.

Levi won’t find his joke particularly funny.

You will be quite confident he will be able to master the Levitation Charm one day.

Levi will explain that you are on a curse-breaking mission with Bill, which is why you need a Golden Snitch.

Jae will find your curse-breaking mission much more exciting than making sandwiches in the kitchens.

Levi will remind him he’s in detention for a reason.

Jae will figure out he is just mad about the joke.

He’ll ask for your opinion. If you like Levi, it is recommended to pick the first option. On the other hand, if you like Jae, you should select the second one.

You’ll ask Jae if he knows where you can find a used Golden Snitch.

He will nod and say he can get you all sorts of things.

Luckily for you, one of his contacts should have the item you need.

You’ll ask if he can take you to his contact.

Unfortunately, he is stuck in detention, so he cannot really go anywhere.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

Jae will ask you to help him sneak out, and in return, he will take you to see his contact in Knockturn Alley.

After considering it for a moment, you will agree to his proposition. Still, you will need to figure out how to sneak him out.

Levi will suggest distracting Pitts to provide Jae the option to escape.

You will decide to go and distract Pitts.

You will ask him for a moment of his time.

He will tell you he is busy watching over students.

You will say you have some questions you want to ask him.

To distract Pitts, you will need to earn five stars within an hour. All five stars are needed to pass, so don’t start this task if you are low on energy.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Pitts and your character. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

Jae will use the opportunity to slip away unnoticed.

Pitts will tell you he needs to get back to work.

You will thank him for taking the time to speak with you.

Levi will be happy with this outcome.

You will decide to head to Knockturn Alley and meet Jae’s contact.

Levi will wish you the best of luck before you go.

Proceed to Knockturn Alley when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.

Jae will take you to the meeting spot.

You will ask if he believes that his contact has a Golden Snitch.

He’ll explain that his relationship with the contact is kind of complicated.

He will wonder why helping Levi is so important to you. There are three options to reply with. This choice will affect one of the dialogues later on, but it won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to take your pick.

You will thank Jae for helping you.

Moments later, his contact will arrive.

Jae will ask you not to alarm him.

The contact and Jae will exchange a few words.

The two of them will then glare at each other for a while.

Shortly after, both of them will start laughing.

If you’ve met Alistair before, you will get some additional lines of dialogue. Otherwise, you will politely greet him.

You will tell Alistair you don’t want any trouble.

Jae will tell him you are looking for a used Golden Snitch.

Alistair will say that he does indeed have a Golden Snitch in his possession.

You will ask if he would be willing to sell it to you.

Surprisingly enough, Alistair will decide to give you the Golden Snitch for free. His lines will differ slightly, based on your previous encounters with him.

You will wonder if his offer is too good to be true.

He will decide to let you take a look at the Golden Snitch and see for yourself that he is not trying to trick you.

Inspecting the Golden Snitch requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if you are low on energy.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Alistair and your character. Prioritize those if you are looking to save some energy.

Upon inspecting the Golden Snitch, you will realize that Alistair isn’t trying to trick you.

You will thank Alistair for giving you the Golden Snitch.

You will decide to meet with Bill and Levi and take the first ‘Gift of Hogwarts’ to the Sphinx.
