The Rise of a Curse-Breaker Part 3

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for The Rise of a Curse-Breaker Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you met with Bill at Gringotts and learned about his assignment. You went to the Red Cap hole to look for the treasure Bill is supposed to retrieve for Gringotts. However, you found out that the treasure is guarded by the Sphinx, and you were tasked with solving three riddles and bringing three ‘Gifts of Hogwarts’ back to Sphinx to claim the treasure. Luckily, Levi was able to figure out that the answer to the first riddle was Golden Snitch. You went to talk to Andre to see if he can help you find one. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to help you with that, but he did tell you a lot about the Golden Snitches. Later on, you went to ask Jae if he can get you a used Golden Snitch on the black market. Thankfully, he agreed to help you, but in return, you had to help him sneak out of detention. You distracted Pitts and created an opportunity for Jae to slip away from the kitchens. After that, you met him and his contact in Knockturn Alley, and surprisingly enough, you got the Golden Snitch completely for free. Now is the time to return to the Red Cap’s Hole and present the Sphinx with the first ‘Gift of Hogwarts’. However, you will need to wait four hours until you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 6 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

Head to the Red Cap’s Hole once the waiting time is over.

Bill will ask if you had any luck with Jae.

You will happily tell him you managed to get a Golden Snitch.

Levi will be glad to hear the good news.

Bill will suggest handing over the item to the Sphinx.

The creature will eagerly await for you to reveal your gift.

You will present the first ‘Gift of Hogwarts’ to the Sphinx.

Luckily, the answer to the first riddle was correct.

Levi will be relieved to hear that.

You will tell him it was all thanks to his brilliant riddle-solving skills.

Bill will remind you there are two more riddles to solve before you can claim the treasure.

Levi will assume that the next two riddles will be harder than the first.

He will wonder if he only solved the first riddles because of beginner’s luck. There are two options to reply with. If you like Levi, it is recommended to pick the first option.

You will ask the Sphinx to give you the clue to the second ‘Gift of Hogwarts’.

You will decide to discuss the clues with Bill and Levi in order to figure out the answer to the riddle.

Solving the second riddle requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There is a 5-cost action tied to Bill. Focus on his actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

You will sum up all of the clues.

Sadly, Bill won’t be able to figure out the answer.

You’ll ask Levi if he has any ideas.

He’ll tell you that he might be on to something.

He will say there are lots of ways to be rich that don’t involve wealth.

He’ll go on and explain it.

Bill will ask he thinks that the second object is some type of food.

Levi will tell him that the second item you need to bring to the Sphinx is a glass of Butterbeer.

You will suggest heading to the Three Broomsticks as soon as possible.

Levi will remind you that you are on a serious curse-breaking mission, so you cannot afford to get side-tracked.

You’ll tell him you are fully aware of that.

Bill will decide to go to Gringotts and report to Griphook.

Proceed to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

You will notice that the pub is very crowded.

Levi will say that you weren’t the only ones who decided to have some Butterbeer.

You will suggest ordering some.

Levi will again remind you that you are on a serious mission.

If you are friends with Alanza, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

You’ll tell Levi you can celebrate your first victory and get the second item at the same time.

Shortly after, Madam Rosmerta will approach your table. You will happily greet her.

She’ll say she’s almost run out of Butterbeer.

Levi will tell her that the two of you need a pint of Butterbeer for a Sphinx.

Madam Rosmerta will admit this is the first time she’s heard someone make that excuse.

You’ll tell her you’d also take a round of Butterbeer for yourselves.

While waiting for Madam Rosmerta to return with the Butterbeer, Levi will ask if you think he will ever be able to master the Levitation Charm. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Levi will tell you that he started to think his whole life was cursed.

You will say that being bad at one spell doesn’t mean he is bad at everything.

Unfortunately, many of your classmates don’t have the same opinion.

You will advise him to be a bit more confident.

After all, his riddle-solving skills helped you figure out the first two clues.

Levi will say that he’s already feeling more confident.

Moments later, Madam Rosmerta will come back.

Unfortunately, she will say that she only has one pint of Butterbeer left.

Sadly, you won’t be able to share a toast with only one pint.

Still, that is all you need to please the Sphinx.

Madam Rosmerta will ask Levi to grab a Butterbeer.

He’ll take out his wand and cast the Summoning Charm.

Unfortunately, the spell won’t work as intended, and the pint will end up getting smashed into the wall.

Sadly, that was the last pint of Butterbeer Madam Rosmerta had.

Levi will tell you that he might be cursed after all.

You’ll ask Madam Rosmerta if she is really out of Butterbeer.

Unfortunately, she was too busy and hasn’t had any time to brew a new batch.

You will offer to help her brew some Butterbeer.

The following line will differ, based on how successful you were with helping Madam Rosmerta develop her extra-sweet Butterbeer during year three of your Hogwarts studies.

In any case, she will agree to let you help her brew some Butterbeer.

Brewing the Butterbeer requires earning five stars within an hour. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if your energy bar is empty.

The only 5-cost action here is linked to Madam Rosmerta. Prioritize her actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

Once you are done brewing, Levi will apologize for messing things up earlier.

You won’t hold it against him. After all, the life of a curse-breaker is filled with obstacles.

You’ll tell him that by working hard he can always find a way to achieve his goal.

Levi will decide to share a toast with you.

You will definitely be up for it.

He will suggest toasting to his excellent mentor, and also, to overcoming all obstacles.

Both of you will taste freshly-brewed Butterbeer.

You will say that it tastes absolutely delicious.

Shortly after, the two of you will decide to meet up with Bill and give the Sphinx the second ‘Gift of Hogwarts’.

Head back to the Red Cap’s Hole when you are ready to continue.

Upon seeing you come back with the Butterbeer, Bill will figure out that you were successful.

You will tell him you had an unfortunate delay.

Levi will admit he’s the one to blame for that.

Luckily, the two of you managed to overcome the obstacle by brewing a new batch of Butterbeer.

Bill will tell him he has an excellent mentor.

Levi will agree with him.

You’ll ask Bill about his meeting with Griphook.

He will tell you that Griphook was pleased to hear about the progress of the mission. However, some other goblins started growing impatient.

In other words, you will have to hurry up and obtain the treasure as soon as possible.

You will present the second ‘Gift of Hogwarts’ to the Sphinx.

Luckily, the Butterbeer was the correct answer to the second riddle.

There’s only one riddle left.

You will ask the Sphinx to give you the clue for the third ‘Gift of Hogwarts’.

Once again, you won’t be able to figure out the answer immediately.

Levi will say he needs some time to solve the riddle.

You will be quite confident he can come up with the right answer.

Helping Levi solve the third riddle requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There is a 5-cost action tied to Levi. Prioritize his actions if you want to save some energy.

You will ask Levi if he has any idea what the answer might be.

He’ll admit that he hasn’t been able to figure it out.

He’ll go over the clues one more time.

You will be sure that the three of you can figure out the answer together.

You’ll suggest focusing on one piece of the puzzle at a time.

Levi will let you choose which clue you want to focus on. There are two options to choose from. Both options will end up with a similar outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

After going over the clues, Levi will figure out that the answer to the third riddle is the Gryffindor house crest.

You will praise him for solving the riddle.

Levi will humbly say that Bill and you helped him a lot.

Still, you will have to figure out where to find a Gryffindor crest.

After all, you cannot simply offer up a patch from your robes.

Levi will decide to go back to the Gryffindor Common Room and search for a spare crest.

Bill will say knows someone who might be able to help.

He will give you a hint.

Levi will try to figure out who the person is.

You will spare him the trouble and say that the answer is Bill’s brother, Charlie.

You will wonder how Charlie might be able to help.

Bill will explain that he gave Charlie all his old Gryffindor robes after graduating.

He will assume there is an extra patch among those.

You will then decide to split up and look for a Gryffindor crest.

You will need to wait four hours until you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to Hagrid’s garden once the waiting time is over.

You will ask Bill if he really thinks Charlie has a spare Gryffindor patch.

You’ll say that the mission is very important to Levi.

Bill will figure out you really care about Levi.

The choice that you’ve made during the previous part will take effect here.

Bill will say that he’ll do everything he can to help.

Moments later, you will approach Charlie and Hagrid. You will notice they are working.

Upon greeting them, you will offer to help.

Hagrid will be surprised to see you.

He’ll wonder if you wanted some of his famous rock cakes.

You’ll say you’re actually looking for Charlie.

Charlie will tell his brother that he doesn’t need to check in on him all the time.

Bill will point out at his scorched robes.

He’ll ask if something happened.

You will notice they are acting a bit suspicious.

Hagrid will say that everything is all right.

He’ll ask you to help him with some garden work while he explains what happened.

Helping Hagrid requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, you shouldn’t start this task if your energy is low.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions tied to Charlie and a giant carrot. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

After listening to their stories, you will realize that something doesn’t add up.

You can choose whether you want to interrogate Hagrid and Charlie, or let them off the hook. If you like Bill, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you like Charlie and Hagrid, you should probably let them off the hook. Also, this choice will affect some of the dialogue later on, but it won’t change the outcome of the story.

You will tell Charlie you want to talk about his robes.

You’ll say that you are on a mission for Gringotts, and you need a Gryffindor house crest.

Bill will say he figured out Charlie has an extra Gryffindor patch.

Unfortunately, Charlie is all out of robes.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

Your friend will say that he cannot afford to buy new robes.

You will offer to help him get a new set of robes, if he gives you his old robes in return.

Charlie will happily agree to your proposition.

You’ll decide to pay another visit to Andre and see if he can help.

Head to the Transfiguration classroom when you are ready.

Andre will ask if you’ve managed to find the Golden Snitch.

You’ll tell him you’ve already solved the first part of the Sphinx’s riddle.

You will say that you have a fashion emergency.

The choice that you’ve made while previously talking to Andre will take effect here.

You’ll tell Andre that Charlie needs his help.

He’ll quickly figure out that the emergency has something to do with Charlie’s tattered robes.

Still, you will need to convince Andre to help. There are three options for you to choose from. If you like Levi, you should pick the first option. If you like Charlie, you should go with the second one. And if you like Andre, you should select the third option.

In the end, Andre will agree to help.

Fitting Charlie with new robes requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Andre and your character. Prioritize those if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

Andre will happily present Charlie to Bill and you.

Your Gryffindor friend will look much better in his new robes.

Even Bill will be impressed.

Charlie will promise to take good care of the robes.

The choice that you’ve made in Hagrid’s garden will take effect here.

And just as he promised, he will give you his old robes.

You will thank him for that.

The following line will differ, based on one of your previous choices.

Now that you have the third item, you can go back to the Red Cap’s hole and deliver it to the Sphinx.
