[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 4 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

Hagrid will thank you for coming.

You will notice the worried look on his face, so you will ask if there’s something wrong.

Charlie will assume that the problem is related to Fang.

Hagrid will explain that the issue is related to Torvus.

Given that the centaur is not the one to joke around, you will figure out that something serious happened.

Hagrid will say that he encountered Torvus during the morning. According to him, the centaur was pretty upset about something.

Charlie will point out that Torvus often behaves like that.

You’ll ask why he was upset.

Hagrid will shake his head and say that the centaur drove him out of the forest as soon as he saw him.

You’ll ask if Torvus said anything.

He will say that the centaur told him not to come back until he had you with him.

You will be surprised to hear that.

Charlie will ask Hagrid if he is sure that Torvus asked to see you.

He’ll nod and say that he is absolutely sure about it.

You will apologize to Hagrid for having to endure Torvus’ anger.

Still, you will wonder why the centaur wants to see you.

Charlie will ask if you’ve done anything to upset him recently.

You’ll tell him you definitely didn’t do anything to make Torvus angry.

If you’ve encountered Torvus after breaking the Sleepwalking Curse, your character will be sure to mention it.

Hagrid will say that the centaur is probably looking for you for a reason.

Charlie will point out that it is probably something important.

You will figure out that the best course of action would be to head into the forest and speak to Torvus.

Hagrid will advise you not to rush things. After all, you want to be as prepared as possible.

Charlie will offer to go with you, since he’s a friend of Torvus.

Hagrid will like that idea. Still, according to him, it might not be enough.

He will suggest bringing an offering to Torvus.

You will wonder what he has in mind.

Hagrid will say that you should bring Torvus some of his rock cakes.

You will like the idea of bringing an offering to the centaur, even if he doesn’t end up liking the rock cakes.

Hagrid will reassure you that Torvus loves his rock cakes.

Shortly after, you will start cooking.

Making rock cakes requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Charlie and the cauldron. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Once you are done, the rock cakes will be ready to go.

And soon enough, you will head into the forest.

Charlie will wonder how you are feeling about confronting Torvus. There are three options to choose from. This choice will take effect during the conversation with Torvus, but it won’t have any major impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Shortly after, the three of you will head into the forbidden forest.

Proceed to the spider’s lair when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will greet Torvus politely.

He will look at Charlie and calmly say that he only requested to see you.

Charlie will smile and say that he wanted to use the opportunity to see his friend.

Torvus will admit that it is good to see him, too.

Hagrid will say that the three of you brought him one of his favorite treats.

You will add that you hoped an offering might help with his anger.

He will ask if you thought that rock cakes would make a suitable offering.

Hagrid will smile and nod.

Torvus will politely say that he will have to save the rock cakes for later.

The following few lines will differ, based on your previous choice.

Torvus will explain that the entire forbidden forest is out of balance.

You will wonder how you are connected to all of it.

The centaur will say that you are responsible for everything that happened.

He’ll then decide to provide a detailed explanation.

Learning about forest disturbance requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Torvus and your character. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

You will learn that opening the cursed vault has caused the forest to fall out of balance.

According to Torvus, the way in which you dealt with the vault also contributed to the problem.

Charlie will point out that you’ve saved Hogwarts.

Torvus will tell him that things are not always as simple as they might seem.

He’ll go on and provide a more detailed explanation.

Still, you will fail to see how your actions made things worse in the forest.

Torvus will ask if you remember the Acromantula you had to fight before entering the cursed vault.

The following line will differ, based on whether or not you’ve encountered the Acromantula after breaking the sleepwalking curse.

Torvus will explain that the Acromantula hasn’t returned to his colony, which made the other Acromantulas uneasy.

You will notice Charlie being worried upon hearing that.

Torvus will go on and say that it is important to reunite the Acromantula with the colony.

Hagrid will wonder what happened to the Acromantula you fought.

According to Torvus, he is causing trouble around the forest ever since you defeated him.

You will ask if the duel made the Acromantula run off.

Torvus will nod and ask if there’s anything you have to say for yourself. There are two options to choose from. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so you can feel free to pick either option. However, if you like Torvus, it is recommended to go with the first choice and take responsibility.

You will ask Torvus if there is anything you can do to make things right.

Torvus will say that you haven’t done anything to prove you are capable of such a task.

You will ask if he’ll let you help fix one of the disturbances.

That way, you can prove that you are capable of helping the forest.

Torvus will angrily say that you shouldn’t even be allowed to step foot in the forest.

You will be surprised to hear that.

Hagrid will say a few words to get Torvus to change his mind.

Luckily, it will seem to work, and the centaur will agree to give you a chance.

He will say there’s a disturbance that needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

You will be happy that he decided to give you a chance to make things right.

Torvus will tell you that the centaurs have been unable to retrieve water at the forest lake.

The herd will be forced to look for a new home unless they can find a way to safely retrieve water again.

Charlie will point out that the Acromantula might be the cause of the problem.

In any case, you will need to investigate the matter to know for sure.

Torvus will advise you to expect the unexpected if you want to succeed on the quest.

Once again, you will make it clear that you’re eager to help.

Despite not being convinced that you have what it takes to help, Torvus will give you the chance to fix things.

Hagrid will advise you to make haste unless you want to be banned from the forest.

He’ll decide to take the rock cakes back to Fang, since no one was eating any.

Shortly after, Charlie and you will go to investigate the forest lake.

Head there when you are ready to continue.

You will tell Charlie you are determined to solve the problem.

After all, that is your only chance to earn back Torvus’ trust.

Both of you will take a look around, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to spot the Acromantula anywhere.

However, you will spot a spider web nearby.

It will pretty much confirm that the Acromantula was near the lake at some point.

Still, you will need to figure out what’s preventing the centaurs from getting water.

Moments later, you will spot a troll wandering around.

Needless to say, neither Charlie nor you expected to see a troll near the lake.

On top of that, the creature will look angry.

As it seems, the troll is preventing the centaurs from retrieving water.

Charlie will suggest using magic to defeat the troll and chase him away.

You’ll tell him you want to consider a different approach to the whole situation, especially after what happened with the Acromantula.

Charlie will wonder if you can somehow communicate with the troll.

You’ll decide to give it a try.

Talking to the troll requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy is low.

There are 5-cost actions tied to Charlie and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You will figure out that troll is trying to tell you something… something related to the thing in his hand.

Upon taking a better look at it, Charlie will figure out that the troll is holding a Bubotuber plant.

You will wonder why he is carrying that plant.

Charlie will point out that the troll might be hungry.

You’ll figure out that he’s probably looking for food.

However, according to Charlie, there should be an entire field of Bubotubers in the forest.

You’ll assume that something happened to the field.

Charlie will ask if whatever happened was caused by meddling with the cursed vault. There are two options to choose from. This choice will be referenced later on. This time, Charlie will be correct, so it is recommended to pick the first option.

In any case, you will decide to head to the field of Bubotubers and find out what happened.

And in case you find more food, you can use it to lure the troll away from the lake. That way, you will be able to solve the problem.

Go to the Forest Grove once you are ready to continue.

Upon arriving, you will notice that Torvus is already waiting for you, so you will happily greet him.

Sadly, his reply won’t be so warm.

He’ll ask you to tell him about your encounter with the troll.

You’ll be surprised that he knew about the troll.

Apparently, he wanted to see if you could learn how to navigate something completely unexpected.

You’ll tell him that you learned why the troll is hostile towards the centaurs.

Charlie will go on and explain everything.

Torvus will seem pleased to hear that.

Still, you will need to figure out what to do next, since the field of Bubotubers is completely empty.

One solution is feeding the troll before he starts causing more problems.

Charlie will suggest searching the place for more Bubotubers.

You will like his idea.

Searching for Bubotubers requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions linked to Charlie and your character. Focus on those if you want to save a bit of energy.

Upon searching the place, you will manage to find some clues.

Torvus will quickly figure out what happened.

According to him, the Bubotubers have been trampled.

You will wonder if the centaurs accidentally trampled the plants.

Torvus will find your assumption insulting.

He will explain that the centaurs lived peacefully in the forest for a long time.

On top of that, they are treating their surroundings with love and respect. You will be able to choose whether you want to apologize to Torvus or tell him to calm down. If you like Torvus, it is recommended to pick the first option and apologize.

Charlie will ask the centaur if he has any idea what happened to the plants.

Torvus will say that the victims of the sleepwalking curse trampled the Bubotubers.

The choice that you’ve made while talking to Charlie near the lake will take effect here.

Suddenly, everything will start making sense.

You will realize that one small disturbance quickly created several others and disturbed the balance of the forest.

Torvus will be glad that you are finally starting to understand it.

However, understanding the problem was the easy part. The difficult part will be to figure out how to fix things and undo the damage.

Charlie will say that you’re in for a challenge. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

You will suggest starting with the Bubotubers. One option would be to regrow them.

That will hopefully cause the troll to leave the forest lake.

Torvus will remind you that time is of the essence.

You will confidently tell him that you’ll do your best to fix things.

You’ll ask Charlie if he knows how to grow Bubotubers.

He will admit that he’s not so good when it comes to growing plants.

You will decide to ask Professor Sprout for help.

This will mark the end of Part 1 of Torvus and the Troubled Forest adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward.

Will Professor Sprout agree to help you grow Bubotubers? And will you be able to solve the problem and lure the troll away from the lake? Find out in the next part of this adventure!
