[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 4 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 4 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]
Once you start the adventure, you’ll learn that Professor McGonagall has a special announcement for all of the students, so head to the Great Hall when you are ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of your classmates before continuing. Shortly after, Professor McGonagall will address the students.
As it turns out, the professors have some special, holiday-themed lessons for the students.
Professor McGonagall will also announce the arrival of the famous wizard, Gilderoy Lockhart.
You will learn that Charlie’s mom is a fan of his books.
Shortly after McGonagall’s announcement is over, Talbott will ask you a question about Valentine’s Day. There are three options to reply with. While this choice won’t significantly impact the story, it is somewhat recommended to pick the first option.
You’ll then get to discuss Valentine’s Day with your friends.
Here are the requirements for this task:
Year 4 = 3h – 1/5 stars;
Year 5 and above = 1h – 1/5 stars.
If you are looking to save some energy, it is recommended to earn a single star and let the timer expire. However, if you want to earn some additional rewards and a chance for chocolate frogs, it is recommended to fully complete this task. Also, there are bonus progress actions linked to both Charlie and Ismelda.
Apparently, each of your friends has a different opinion about Valentine’s Day. If you earlier said you love Valentine’s Day, Penny will be very happy to hear that.
When you are ready, proceed to the Herbology classroom for your first Valentine’s Day lesson.
Once you arrive, you’ll be able to have a few words with some of the characters by tapping on their speech bubbles.
Professor Sprout will explain the importance of flowers for Valentine’s Day.
Diego will ask her a question about mistletoe.
Penny will immediately make an assumption. You’ll get to respond to her in two different ways. If you like her, it is recommended to go with the first option.
You’ll then get some sweet words from Penny. If you were her date before, you’re in for some additional dialogue lines.
Moments later, Professor Sprout will answer Diego’s question.
She’ll also make it clear that there will be no kissing in the class. As it seems, roses will be the focus of the lesson.
Professor Sprout will say that these flowers are often associated with Valentine’s Day, especially in Muggle communities.
Tonks will point out the obvious.
The Professor will explain that the first part of the lesson is growing roses. Apparently, there is a charm that can help with that.
Learning Herbivicus Charm is your next task.
Here are the requirements for it:
Year 4 = 3h – 1/5 stars;
Year 5 and above = 3h – 3/5 stars.
If you’re looking to save some energy, it is recommended to earn the required number of stars and then wait for the timer to run out. However, if you want to earn additional rewards and a chance for chocolate frogs, you should fully complete this task.
It’s also worth noting that there are actions with bonus progress linked to Tonks and Professor Sprout.
When you are done, you’ll be tasked with casting Herbivicus Charm.
All of your classmates will manage to cast this spell without any problems, which will make Professor Sprout very proud.
Needless to say, Penny will be overjoyed.
The next class you’ll have to attend is Potions.
You’ll receive an additional reward for learning Herbivicus Charm. You can collect it from the Herbology section of your Hogwarts record.
Head to the Potions classroom when you are ready to continue. Once again, you’ll get the chance to interact with some of the characters before the class begins.
Professor Snape will announce the potions you’ll be studying during the class.
He’ll also remind everyone that Love Potions are strictly prohibited at Hogwarts.
Barnaby will make a funny remark.
Snape will say a few words about the contents of the cauldron. He’ll say that he’s been brewing Amortentia, the most potent Love Potion.
He’ll say that Amortentia cannot create true love. Instead, it causes the drinker to become obsessed with whoever gave them the potion.
Snape will also say that those that are conceived under the influence of Amortentia are doomed to be incapable of love.
Liz will ask him about Love Potions.
Professor Snape will say that he wants to teach everyone about the dangers of Amortentia. That way, you and your classmates will be able to recognize it if you happen to encounter it.
He’ll also warn everyone not to stay too close to the cauldron.
Barnaby will be curious to know what Amortentia smells like. Snape will explain that the potion smells different to everyone, based on who or what appeals to them.
Merula will ask you an interesting question. If you like her, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you like Barnaby, you should go with the second one. Otherwise, you can feel free to pick any option.
If either of them was your date, you’re in for some additional lines of dialogue.
Shortly after, you’ll get to study Amortentia.
Here are the requirements for this task:
Year 4 = 3h – 1/5 stars;
Year 5 and above = 3h – 3/5 stars.
Once again, if you want to save energy, it is recommended to earn the required number of stars and wait for the timer to expire. This should save you some energy, which could make a difference later on.
However, if you want some additional rewards and a chance for chocolate frogs, it is recommended to fully complete the task. Also, the only action with bonus progress here is tied to Snape, so prioritize his actions if you want to save some energy.
When you are done, the Professor will point out that all of you are likely under the influence of the potion.
He’ll politely ask everyone to leave his classroom as soon as possible.
Your next Valentine’s Day class is Transfiguration. Go to the classroom when you’re ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you’re interested to see what they have to say.
Professor McGonagall will say a few words about the lesson.
If you completed First Date Adventure, you’ll recall some past events. Also, if Tulip, Andre, or Talbott were your dates previously, they’ll be sure to mention it.
It seems that you’ll be learning how to Transfigure Lovebirds into Love Notes. You’ll be curious about these love notes.
Professor McGonagall will answer your question.
Talbott will admit he isn’t too fond of sharing his feelings. Andre, on the other hand, will seem to be very open about it.
Tulip will be curious to hear your opinion. There are three options to respond with. If you like Talbott, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you like Andre, you should go with the second one.
Professor McGonagall will say that the messages are going to be delivered in the style of a Howler. She’ll also tell everyone that they might be surprised by those messages.
Soon enough, the lesson will start.
Here are the requirements for this task:
Year 4 = 3h – 1/5 stars;
Year 5 and above = 3h – 3/5 stars.
Like before, if you want to save some energy, it is recommended to earn the required number of stars and wait until the timer expires.
If you want to get some additional rewards and a chance for chocolate frogs, you should fully complete the task. Also, there are bonus progress actions tied to Professor McGonagall. Prioritize them to save energy.
Once you are done, you’ll be tasked with performing this transfiguration.
The spell will work and your love bird will be transfigured into a love note.
Andre will ask you about your love note. You’ll tell him that the note only said ‘Be my valentine!’
He’ll seem very curious to know who your valentine is. Before you give him an answer, Tulip will arrive to tell you about her love note.
In any case, your next Valentine’s Day lesson awaits.
You’ll receive an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it from the Transfiguration section of your Hogwarts record.
Go to the Charms classroom when you’re ready to continue. When you get there, you’ll be able to have a few words with some of the characters by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.
Professor Flitwick will ask everyone a question about Valentine’s Day lessons. There are two options to respond with. This choice won’t impact the story in any big way, so feel free to pick either option.
According to Flitwick, this will be the final Valentine’s Day lesson, and it will be about Entrancing Enchantments.
Here are the requirements for this task:
Year 4 = 3h – 1/5 stars;
Year 5 and above = 1h – 5/5 stars.
There are bonus progress actions linked to Professor Flitwick and the book in front of your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
When you’re done, the Professor will say a few words about the Memory Charms.
Professor Flitwick will remind you and your classmates that improper casting of Obliviate can have serious consequences.
Shortly after, he’ll end the lesson and wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day.
Professor Flitwick will tell everyone that a guest lecture by Gilderoy Lockhart will be starting fairly soon.
You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
Proceed to the Great Hall once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to have a few words with some of your friends.
By the looks of it, the lecture hasn’t started yet.
Not long after you join your friends, you’ll notice a fabulous-looking wizard entering the Great Hall.
After greeting everyone, he’ll introduce himself as Gilderoy Lockhart.
Andre will be curious to know what you think about Lockhart. You have three options to choose from. This choice won’t affect the story in any significant way, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.
You’ll learn that Lockhart is on a book tour. Apparently, he’ll be signing books for many of his fans.
Because of that, he won’t be able to stay at Hogwarts for long, so he’ll only have time to share some of his adventures with all of the students.
Learning about Lockhart is your next task.
Here are the requirements for it:
Year 4 = 3h – 1/5 stars;
Year 5 and above = 8h – 5/5 stars.
Since Gilderoy Lockhart is full of adventures he wants to share, all of the actions will be tied to him.
By the time you’re done listening to his lecture, you and your friends will be mentally exhausted.
Andre will notice that some of Lockhart’s stories don’t really make sense.
Moments later, Lockhart will make an announcement. By the looks of it, a few randomly selected students will receive tickets to his book signing event.
Shortly after, Part 1 of Valentine’s Day at Hogwarts will conclude. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You’ll receive 300 Coins.
Will you be among the students chosen to attend Gilderoy Lockhart’s book signing event? Who else will be there? Find out in Part 2 of this lovely adventure.
