Valentine’s Day Ball Part 3

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for Valentine’s Day Ball Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you listened to Professor Dumbledore’s advice and realized that the reason why Madam Pince wanted to have an uneventful Valentine’s Day Ball is because she is lonely. You decided to pair her up with Mr. Filch in an attempt to have her realize that she doesn’t have to be lonely. With some help from your friends, and a bit of cleverness, your plan worked, and you managed to convince her to change some of her ideas for the ball. However, you also agreed to help her with organizing everything, so you will have to work hard to make sure that everything is prepared in time. Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of five hours. Since you’ll probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Three Broomsticks to meet with Chiara.

Upon arriving, you will get to interact with some of the characters.

Chiara will be curious to know why you wanted to meet with her.

You’ll inform her that you urgently need music for Valentine’s Day Ball.

She’ll praise you for managing to convince Madam Pince to change her views, especially since she is very difficult to deal with.

You’ll smile and say you had a help of a certain Hogwarts caretaker.

Chiara will be surprised to hear that.

Still, you won’t judge either of them.

Chiara will want to know why you decided to contact her about the music. There are three options to choose from. Each of those will lead to a similar outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll then tell her that you need the music to be storybook romantic and something that’s good for dancing, as well as classy and fun.

Thankfully, Chiara will say she can sort it out.

You’ll then get to chat with Chiara about the music. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

There are three 5-cost actions available for this task. Two of them are linked to Chiara, while the third one is tied to a person standing near Madam Rosmerta. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

As it seems, Chiara is planning to enchant some musical instruments and have them playing at the ball.

You will also like her woodland fairy idea since it fits so well into the whole storybook romance theme.

Chiara will admit that she finds strolling through the woods incredibly romantic.

She’ll ask you about the mood you want guests to feel when they first walk into the ball. There are three options to choose from. Other than some minor dialogue differences, this choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you prefer.

Chiara will use the opportunity to find out if you have a date for the ball. After learning that you haven’t decided about it yet, she will smile at you and say you are one of the most caring people she knows at Hogwarts.

Her words will catch you by surprise.

If the two of you went on a date before, she will be sure to mention it. Moments later, she will ask if you’d like to be her date to the ball.

You’ll smile at her and admit you are flattered.

Chiara will understand that you are extremely busy with all the preparations for the ball, so she won’t push you to answer right away. She’ll also say she is fully-aware there are others who probably asked you out already, so she will gently smile at you and say she’ll do her best to prepare the music for the event.

You will decide to find Jae next and see if he can help you with the food for the ball.

Head to the Kitchens when you are ready to meet with Jae.

Once you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the house-elves and see what they have to say.

Jae will wonder why you decided to visit him in the kitchens.

You’ll tell him you need his help to prepare refreshments for the ball. Something that will fit the theme of storybook romance.

Jae will find your request quite challenging.

You will say that you can ask Pitts for help in case he’s unable to help you.

If you completed Cooking up Trouble Side Quest, you will praise your friend’s cooking skills.

Jae will admit he loves a good challenge, so he’ll agree to help you.

You’ll ask if he has any ideas for refreshments that would fit the theme.

He’ll think for a bit and suggest making some fairy cakes.

You’ll find his idea brilliant.

Shortly after, the two of you will start baking.

Creating refreshments for the ball requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task with an empty energy bar.

The only 5-cost action here is tied to one of the cooking pots. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

Once you’re done baking, the fairy cakes will look absolutely amazing.

Jae will suggest using some magic to make them even better.

You’ll take out your wand and cast the Levitation Charm on the fairy cakes.

The spell will work, and the fairy cakes will start floating around.

Jae will admit that you’re very skilled in the kitchen. He’ll even ask you to be his sous chef.

You’ll chuckle and say that both of you would be sous chefs to Pitts.

Still, the two of you did make quite a good team.

Jae will use the opportunity to ask you to go with him to Valentine’s Day Ball. If you dated him before, you will also get some additional lines of dialogue.

You will think for a while before giving him your answer.

Suddenly, Madam Pince will arrive, so you won’t get the chance to finish the sentence.

She’ll say she’s been looking for you all over the castle.

You’ll happily inform her that Jae and you finished the refreshments for the ball.

Initially, she won’t be impressed by the refreshments you made.

You will explain that Mr. Filch had the idea to add some woodland fairytale to the storybook romance, which is why you decided to decorate the fairy cakes to look like toadstools.

You’ll ask her to try one.

After tasting one of the fairy cakes, Madam Pince will smile and admit they would be fitting enough for the ball.

She will then tell you she wants to have a mural that would fit the theme.

She’ll ask if you know someone who might be able to complete the mural before the ball starts.

Thankfully, you know an artist who is definitely talented enough to create such a mural.

Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready to meet with Badeea.

When you arrive, you will notice that the Great Hall looks much different than usual. Badeea will say she prefers it that way.

You’ll tell her you’ve been helping Madam Pince organize the ball.

She will shyly say she wasn’t planning to attend the event, but given that you’ll be there, she might consider changing her plans.

You will tell her that you need her help painting a mural for the ball.

Badeea will be excited to hear about the mural.

You’ll then inform her about the details.

Before she starts painting, Badeea will ask you to describe a story you’ll be telling with the mural. There are three options to choose from. This choice will have an impact on some dialogue lines, but apart from that, it won’t change the story in any significant way, so feel free to choose the option you prefer.

Badeea will like the story, and she’ll quickly start to come up with some creative ideas.

Unfortunately, she will admit there’s one little problem.

The size of the canvas will be enormous, and she’ll admit she cannot complete the mural in time for the ball.

You will smile at her and offer to help her paint it.

Shortly after, the two of you will start working.

Painting with Badeea requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to your character and the canvas. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Once you’re done painting, Badeea will decide to add a finishing touch.

She will wave her wand, and suddenly, the characters on the mural will come to life.

You will praise her for making such an amazing piece of art.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

You will be excited to see everyone’s faces during the grand reveal at the ball.

Badeea will use the opportunity to say some nice words to you.

You’ll ask if she will be attending the ball.

If the two of you went on a date before, she’ll be sure to mention it. She will also say she enjoyed painting the mural with you.

She will then say she would like to attend Valentine’s Day Ball, and she’ll ask if you’d want to go with her.

You’ll tell her you’re flattered to hear that, but before you get the chance to give her your answer, she’ll interrupt you and say that Madam Pince has arrived.

The Librarian will greet both of you and ask if you’re done painting the mural.

You’ll cheerfully say it’s ready and praise Badeea for doing an excellent job.

She’ll humbly say that both of you worked on it together.

Madam Pince will take a good look at the mural and ask if it’s finished.

Badeea will nod and ask the Librarian if she likes the mural.

Madam Pince will admit that she absolutely adores it.

She will point out some of the details she found interesting.

Still, she will say there’s one problem. The light in the Great Hall is far too dim, and she wants everyone to see this piece of art.

You will ask if the floating candles will illuminate the hall during the event.

According to Madam Pince, the candles aren’t bright enough.

You will think for a while and decide to talk to the fairies in the forest.

Proceed to the forest when you are ready to meet with Barnaby.

You will thank him for agreeing to meet you.

He’ll say he’s more than happy to help.

Still, he will be curious to know why you wanted to meet in the forest.

If you have adopted the Fairy in the Magical Creatures Reserve, this task will be slightly different. You will tell Barnaby you need her help with Valentine’s Day Ball.

Barnaby will wonder if the Fairy is your date for the ball.

You’ll simply tell him you’re looking for the fairy in the Magical Creatures Reserve.

This is when you’ll learn Barnaby’s full name.

You’ll tell Barnaby you’d like to use fairies to illuminate the Great Hall.

He will point out you’ll need a lot of fairies to make that happen.

If you’ve adopted the Fairy, you’ll say you’re hoping she can help you. Otherwise, you will ask Barnaby for help.

Moments later, a fairy will approach the two of you.

You will ask if she and her friends could help you out for Valentine’s Day.

The Fairy will give you a questioning look, and Barnaby will say she probably doesn’t understand what Valentine’s Day is.

You will then ask Fairy to call her friends so that you can explain to them what Valentine’s Day is.

She will happily buzz at you.

Shortly after, a lot of fairies will gather in front of you.

Barnaby will be fascinated by their lights.

You will quickly yell at him to snap out of it.

He’ll suddenly realize he’s in the forest.

You will then get to explain to the fairies why Valentine’s Day is special.

This requires earning five stars within eight hours. All of the stars are needed to pass.

The only 5-cost action here is tied to your character, so focus on your own actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

You will say a few important words about Valentine’s Day once you’re done explaining.

Barnaby will add to that.

He’ll then ask you about the most important part of Valentine’s Day. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t affect the story significantly, so feel free to select the option you think is the most appropriate.

The Fairy will happily buzz at you.

All of the other fairies will start buzzing as well.

Barnaby will use the opportunity to say a few words to you.

If the two of you have been on a date before, you’ll get some additional lines of dialogue here. Barnaby will then ask you to be his Valentine’s Day date.

The fairies will interrupt you before you get the chance to give him your answer.

You will ask the fairies if they could create a magical fairy heart around a few important people at the ball.

They will happily buzz in approval.

Shortly after, you will decide it’s time to choose a date for the ball.

You’ll have to wait two hours before you can proceed. You will probably be low on energy at this point, which is why it’s recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Clocktower Courtyard once the waiting time is over.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

Tonks will notice that something’s bothering you, and she’ll try her best to cheer you up.

You’ll admit that you still don’t have a date for the ball.

If you’ve completed some of the previous dating adventures, you’ll get some extra lines of dialogue.

You’ll tell her that some of your friends have already asked you out, but you simply couldn’t make up your mind.

Tonks will ask you to tell her more.

Talking to her requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task with an empty energy bar.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions linked to Mr. Filch, Badeea, and Penny. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

Tonks will say she understands why you cannot make a decision easily.

She will remind you of Professor Dumbledore’s words and advise you to listen to your heart.

You will then get to choose your Valentine’s Day date. There are eight possible options (from left to right): Penny, Barnaby, Chiara, Badeea, Talbott, Andre, Jae, and Merula. Tap on the exclamation mark above the person you’d like to date.

Once you select one of them, you will recall your previous dates.

Tonks will ask if you are certain about your decision. If you are absolutely sure, select the first option. If you are not, you can select the second option and choose someone else.

Tonks will ask you to go and make your Valentine’s date official.

You will approach your crush and say there’s something you want to talk about.

You will then ask the person you fancy to be your Valentine’s date. These lines of dialogue will differ, based on the person you chose.

Your crush will smile at you and accept your invitation.

You will then remember that you’ve completely forgotten about your outfit for the ball.

The person you fancy will advise you to seek Andre and see if he can help you out. If Andre is your date, he will be happy to provide his assistance.

Before you go, your crush will thank you.

Proceed to the Transfiguration classroom once you are ready to meet with Andre.

You will find him making some final adjustments to the outfits.

Some of the following lines will differ, based on whether Andre is your date or not.

If Andre is not your date, you will tell him you decided to ask someone else to the ball.

He will be curious to know who your date is.

You’ll happily answer his question.

You’ll then ask if he can help you with the outfit for the ball.

Thankfully, Andre will be kind enough to help you.

He’ll say he completed two different outfits for you.

However, you will have to choose one of them.

You will then get to try out the outfits.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to the outfits. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Once you’re done, you will get to choose the outfit you want to wear to Valentine’s Day Ball.

You can try out both of the outfits before making a final decision. Once you make up your mind, select the first option to confirm your decision. Bear in mind that each outfit also comes with a unique hairstyle. Below are the images of the outfits on a male character.

Andre will happily say that you’ll look absolutely fabulous at the ball.

He will also add that your date will be stunned. This line will be different if Andre is your date.

You will thank Andre for making an amazing outfit for you.
