Hello everyone, welcome back to Year One, Chapter Seven of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. It is time for another awesome Chapter of our exciting adventure. In the previous one, we learned that there is a Mysterious Room in the Forbidden Upstairs Corridor. We got to explore the corridor with Rowan, but we found that the door is sealed with an impenetrable lock. There must be some way to open it, and it’s up to you to find out how.
The first task in this Chapter is to report to your prefect. Hit the GO button and proceed to your Common Room.
Once you’re there, you’ll notice that several students have something to tell you. Tapping on their speech bubbles will reveal what they have to say. When you’re ready, tap on the exclamation mark to start the conversation with your Prefect. She will ask if you managed to lose another twenty House Points. You have three possible responses.
Each of those options will award you five points in a different attribute, but the outcome is the same, regardless of what you choose, so pick the answer to your liking. After a bit of talking, your Prefect will ask you to attend classes and give your best to earn some House Points. You’ll also receive a side quest to meet with Rowan and discuss Ben’s fear of flying. In general, it is advised to do the side quests first, since those will often award you with fifty points in an attribute, lots of experience, and in many cases some friendship points. All of those things could prove very useful for story tasks, so tap on the GO button and proceed to your Common Room.
You’ll find Rowan comfortably sitting there. Tap on the exclamation mark above him to continue. He’ll show you some of the books about flying that he gathered, and ask if you really think that Ben is brave enough to fly. You have two possible answers.
Each of those will award you with five attribute points, but the result is the same – you’ll get a new task to study with Ben. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Great Hall. You’ll see that Ben is pretty depressed about his Hogwarts life, he has a feeling that he doesn’t belong here at all. You’ll have three options to respond with.
Each of them will give you five attribute points, but no matter what you say, Ben will still be scared of flying. So, you have to work harder to convince him. Tapping on the exclamation mark will open a task window. You need to earn five stars within one hour, but only one is needed to pass. However, if you want to earn all five for some bonus rewards, it is highly advised to start it with full energy.
Completing this shouldn’t be a problem, just tap on the glowing objects and you’ll be done in no time.
In the end, you realize that all it would take for Ben to overcome his fear of flying is a bit of magical assistance. So, for the next task, you need to proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard. Once there, you’ll notice speech bubbles above some of the students. Tap on them if you want to see what they have to tell you. Afterward, talking with Ben will reveal your plan. To overcome his fear, you can try the Levitation Charm on him and see if it works. Trace the path on the screen to cast Wingardium Leviosa.
After casting the spell, Ben will start floating. Surprisingly, that goes pretty well. Hopefully, his fear of flying is slowly going away. Now for the real deal. Tap on the GO button and proceed to the Training Grounds to see if all this effort was worth it. Once there, tap on the speech bubbles above other students if you want to see what they have to say. Afterward, you’ll see that Ben still has some lingering doubt, so you have three options to encourage him.
The first option is the best one since it will reward you with ten empathy points. It, however, requires you to have level five in Empathy attribute. If you go with any of the other two options, you will get five attribute points. Regardless of your choice, Ben will decide to give it a try after all. This task will require you to earn two stars within one hour. It should be fairly easy to achieve, especially if your energy is full, and even if it is not, only one star is required to pass.
This class will be pretty similar to any other flying class you had so far. Complete the actions to fill up the Star Meter. Just make sure to do mini-tasks successfully, since each of those will award you with ten extra Courage points.
Afterward, Ben will be happy that you encouraged him to try flying. Madam Hooch will notice this and will award both your and Ben’s House with ten points. If you are a Gryffindor student, then your House will receive twenty points!
It will also finalize this side quest, and as a reward, you’ll get fifty Courage points, three gems, and two hundred experience points! Now that this is complete, it’s time to finish the lessons for Chapter Seven. Tap on the GO button and proceed to Charms Classroom. In order to unlock Flipendo lesson, you need to earn a total of three stars from Charms Class. The quickest way to do so is one three-hour lesson. Simply follow all the steps you did earlier in Charms classes and you should have no problem completing it. When you are done, it’s time for Flipendo lesson. You’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the students, so be sure to check them out.
Tap on the exclamation mark to start the conversation with Professor Flitwick. He’ll say that you’re excluded from the lesson because today he’ll be teaching Flipendo, and given your history in dueling, it’s not something he finds wise teaching you. You can respond to this in three different ways. The second response requires level five Knowledge and for the third one, you need level seven in Empathy attribute. Either of those two answers is recommended, since those will award ten attribute points, compared to the first answer which only rewards five.
In any case, he’ll let you attend the lesson after a short talk. To learn Flipendo, you need to earn five stars within three hours. It is recommended to start this with full energy in order to complete it without a problem. Keep an eye on two things. First, you don’t want to waste energy on expensive actions when you are just about to earn a star since all that excess energy spent would go to waste, and second, try to complete each of the mini-tasks since those will award ten Empathy points each.
After you earn the fifth star, trace the path on the screen to successfully cast Flipendo.
Congratulations! You just got one of the most useful spells you can obtain in the first year of your studies. It is also great for dueling (you can find more information about that HERE).
Your last task for this Chapter is Herbicide potion. Tap on the GO button and proceed to the Potions Classroom. In order to unlock this lesson, you’ll need to earn a total of three stars from Potions class. Like the Charms lesson, taking one three-hour lesson is both easiest and fastest way to unlock it, but if you want to earn some additional attribute points, you might want to consider doing an eight-hour class. As always, pay attention to mini-tasks to maximize the number of attribute points you’ll gain.
When you unlock the lesson, you’ll notice that several of the students in the potions classroom have something to tell you, so if you want to see what they have to say, tap on their speech bubbles.
Before the lesson starts, Merula will ask if you’ve told anyone about the conversation between Snape and Filch in the corridor. You can be honest and say that Rowan knows about it, or you can deceive her. Either way, you will gain five attribute points.
You’ll realize that she is obsessed with finding the Vaults, but for now, she doesn’t want to share her reasons for wanting to find them. In any case, it’s time for the Herbicide potion lesson. For this one, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Try not to waste energy, and in most cases prioritize the attribute rewards unless you get very lucky and get one thousand gold as one of the rewards. It goes without saying to do the mini-tasks in order to gain additional Knowledge points.
When you get all five stars, it’s time to finalize the potion. Trace the path on the screen to do so.
After completing your potion, you’ll notice that Merula made a mistake with hers. You can choose whether you want to help her with it or not. Helping her requires level seven Empathy, but it will award you with ten attribute points and an additional reward.
If you decide to help her, your character will point out the mistake she made while brewing her potion. Snape will notice this and, much to your disbelief will reward you with ten House points.
