Relight the Fire

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Relight the Fire Side Quest for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This is another creature-related side quest that can help you level up your friendship with Hagrid. It is available for students of Year 2 and above, and once you unlock it, Hagrid will ask you to meet with him in the Clocktower Courtyard. Go there when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice that Hagrid is awfully troubled by something.

You’ll be curious to know what’s bothering him.

Apparently, it has something to do with a certain magical creature.

Perhaps there might be something you can do to help Hagrid.

He’ll be hesitant to accept your help.

You’ll remind Hagrid that he saved your life before, so helping him is the least you can do.

Eventually, he will agree to tell you what’s troubling him.

Talking to Hagrid requires earning five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass.

If you want to save as much energy as possible, it is recommended to earn a single star and wait for the timer to run out.

By the looks of it, Hagrid is having a difficult time training a certain magical creature.

And it’s not just any magical creature. This one seems to be extremely rare.

You’ll wonder what kind of creature he is talking about.

Hagrid will answer your question with a question. There are two options to choose from. These won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick either one.

You’ll point out that some creatures simply cannot be tamed.

Hagrid will accidentally slip a crucial piece of information.

You’ll instantly realize that the creature in question is a dragon.

Unfortunately, Hagrid will be hesitant to let you help him.

In the end, you will resort to being cheeky enough to persuade him.

And eventually, it will work. Hagrid will decide to let you see the dragon in question, who is none other than a Chinese Fireball.

He will ask you to meet him on the Magical Creatures Reserve, away from any potential eavesdroppers.

Before meeting Hagrid, you will need to unlock Chinese Fireball. This is not an easy task as it will cost 60 Red, 40 Blue, and 25 Yellow Notebooks to unlock this magical creature. Thankfully, this side quest is not time-limited, so you can take as long as you need to collect the necessary notebooks.

Once you’ve done that, proceed to the Scorched Vale to meet with Hagrid.

When you arrive, Hagrid will introduce you to the Chinese Fireball. If you named the dragon, he’ll be sure to mention her name.

You’ll be amazed by the dragon’s magnificence.

Still, you will wonder why Hagrid isn’t worried about her burning down the Reserve.

As it seems, for some reason, this dragon is unable to breathe fire.

This will spark your curiosity.

According to him, the dragon ran away from her owner and came to the Reserve.

You’ll be curious if the owner will be coming back for the dragon anytime soon.

Hagrid will tell you that the owner wants to turn this Chinese Fireball into some sort of security dragon.

Because of that, he asked Hagrid to help the dragon with her fire problem.

As it seems, the dragon hasn’t breathed fire before, which is strange.

That is the reason why Hagrid was so troubled.

Also, all of his attempts to help the dragon proved futile.

He’ll ask you to take a closer look at the creature. Needless to say, you will be thrilled about it.

Observing the Chinese Fireball requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to your character and Hagrid. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.

According to Hagrid, the dragon seems to like you.

Still, you will wonder why she cannot breathe fire.

Unfortunately, Hagrid has no clue. He will say it could be many different things, and he’ll ask for your opinion. There are three options to choose from. This choice will have a slight impact on one of the dialogues later on, but it won’t change the story significantly, so you can feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

Shortly after, Hagrid will say it’s extremely important to help the dragon with her problem, and he’ll ask if you would be kind enough to provide your assistance.

You’ll be more than happy to help in any way you can.

Hagrid will ask you to meet him on the Training Grounds.

Proceed there when you are ready.

When you arrive, Hagrid will inform you that there are some good news and bad news.

The good news is that Hagrid found a training dummy you can use to practice with the Chinese Fireball.

Hopefully, casting some fire spells on the training dummy would be a good start.

As for the bad news, Hagrid tried following your suggestion from earlier, but he had little to no success with it.

He will also say that your time to practice on the Training Grounds is fairly limited, which is why you should start right away.

You will suggest casting the Fire-Making Spell to motivate the Chinese Fireball to breathe fire.

This requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to your character and the training dummy. Focus on these if you want to save some energy.

Once you are done, you will cast the Fire-Making Spell on the dummy.

Hagrid will praise your spellcasting skills.

You will wonder if your spell helped the dragon in any way.

According to Hagrid, your presence alone has a good effect on the Chinese Fireball.

He will ask if you know why the dragon perks up with you around. There are two options to reply with. These won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick either one.

Hagrid will thank you for being kind enough to help.

He’ll say that the owner wants to sell the dragon if there’s no way to get her to breathe fire.

You will notice that Hagrid is visibly upset about this. He’ll ask if you think it’s fair. There are two options to choose from. Feel free to pick the option you prefer since these won’t have any significant impact on the story.

To make matters worse, there is a high chance that the owner might sell the dragon to a Dark witch or wizard.

Hopefully, your training will be successful, so it won’t come to that.

Next, you will have to reach level 3 trust with the Chinese Fireball. This shouldn’t be too difficult, especially since there’s no time limit on this side quest, so you can take as long as you need to level up the dragon’s trust.

Next, Penny will ask you to show her how you train the dragon. Proceed to the Dark Forest when you are ready to meet with her.

Penny will be impressed that you got to train a dragon.

Unfortunately, you still didn’t get her to breathe fire yet, but you’re off to a good start.

Your Hufflepuff friend will be curious about your training methods.

You’ll start telling her about it.

Penny will say it is really nice that you are helping the dragon.

Suddenly, she will notice Hagrid talking to someone nearby.

You will quietly get closer without alerting them to your presence. You’ll notice a Dark witch standing near Hagrid.

Could this Dark witch be the one that’s interested in buying the dragon?

Or is she perhaps the owner of the Chinese Fireball?

In any case, Penny will suggest eavesdropping on their conversation to find out what’s going on.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is recommended not to start this task if your energy is low.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Hagrid, Penny, and your character. Prioritize these if you want to save as much energy as possible.

As it seems, the Dark witch is pretty convinced that the dragon won’t be able to breathe fire soon.

By the looks of it, she is interested in buying the Chinese Fireball.

And her reason for wanting to buy the dragon is terrifying, to say the least.

Needless to say, Hagrid will be strictly against it.

Unfortunately, the Dark witch won’t be willing to listen to your friend, and moments later, she will leave the place.

Once she is out of sight, you will approach Hagrid and ask if he’s okay.

He will say he’s fine and add that the Dark witch he was meeting is interested in buying the dragon.

Hagrid will say he’s sorry for dragging you into this whole mess, and he’ll ask for your forgiveness. If you like him, it is recommended to pick the second option.

As for Penny, she will be outraged at Cribb’s plan.

You will suggest setting the Chinese Fireball free.

Unfortunately, Hagrid will explain why it’s not such a good idea.

In other words, the only option is to somehow get the dragon to breathe fire.

Luckily, Penny might be able to help.

Head to the Artefact Room to do some research with her.

According to Penny, you’ll have to learn more about dragons if you are to help the Chinese Fireball.

Fortunately, she has prepared plenty of different dragon-related books.

Hopefully, you will find a way to help the Chinese Fireball breathe fire.

You’ll ask Penny if she managed to find anything helpful.

She’ll say that there were other cases of dragons unable to breathe fire.

She will suggest reading the books to find out more.

To research the dragons, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to both Penny and your character, which should make this task slightly easier to complete.

Once you’re done with the research, you will realize that all of the dragons unable to breathe fire were sick.

In other words, there is a high chance that the Chinese Fireball is also sick, which is probably the reason why she’s unable to breathe fire.

You will feel sorry for the dragon.

Sadly, you didn’t realize she was sick from the beginning.

Penny will notice that you care a lot for the Chinese Fireball.

You’ll admit it is true and say there are a lot of reasons why you wanted to help Hagrid.

Penny will be interested to learn more about it. There are three options to reply with. These won’t have any big influence on the story, so feel free to pick whichever one you prefer.

In any case, Penny will be glad that you decided to help the dragon.

Hopefully, you will be able to figure out what ails her before Cribb buys her from the owner.

Penny would wish there was a spell you could use to get rid of Cribb.

Or maybe some potion that would change her attitude.

Suddenly, you will come up with the idea. Perhaps there’s a potion that could help the Chinese Fireball breathe fire.

Penny will point out an interesting fact about dragons.

In any case, you would have to be extremely careful about it. After all, you can’t be certain if the potion will affect the dragon in the same way it affects humans.

However, this is the best chance you have.

Penny will agree with you on that.

Proceed to the Potions classroom once you’re ready to continue.

When you arrive, Penny will tell you that she’s done some research in the meantime.

You’ll ask if she managed to learn anything helpful.

She will smile and say that she might have a solution to the problem.

Apparently, she found a way to modify the recipe for Pepperup Potion and make it usable on dragons.

You will be extremely happy to hear that.

Still, you will wonder if the potion will have any effect on a dragon.

Thankfully, Penny is quite confident it will work.

Also, she has prepared all of the necessary ingredients, but she still needs your help to make sure everything goes according to plan.

Moments later, you will start brewing Pepperup Potion.

To do that, you need to acquire five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you should avoid starting this task if your energy is low.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Penny and the ingredient jar. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

When you are done, you will successfully brew the potion.

Hopefully, it will work as intended.

Penny will ask if you have a backup plan in case the potion doesn’t work. There are three options to choose from. These won’t change the story in any significant way, so feel free to go with whichever one you prefer.

Your Hufflepuff friend will ask if you have any plan for administering the potion to the Chinese Fireball.

You will suggest putting it into her food.

According to Penny, that might work.

Still, you will have to be extremely careful while doing it.

You’ll suggest getting back to Hagrid and the dragon.

You will have to reach level 6 trust with the Chinese Fireball to continue. Luckily, the side quest is not limited by time, so you don’t need to rush it.

Once you are done with that, head to the Training Grounds to deliver the potion.

Once you arrive, you will notice Cribb talking to Hagrid about the dragon.

She will be very impatient to buy the Chinese Fireball, but thankfully, Hagrid will hold his ground and claim that she doesn’t own the dragon yet.

Apparently, she is quite confident she will end up getting this magnificent creature.

Hagrid will remind her that the owner still hasn’t sold the dragon to her, and he will kindly ask her to leave.

Before leaving the Training Grounds, Cribb will point out that the owner should arrive fairly soon, which means that the deal is about to get finalized.

Once she leaves, you will approach Hagrid and tell him you have the solution to the problem.

He’ll say that it’s not the right time to train the Chinese Fireball.

You’ll tell him that the dragon is actually sick, which is why she’s unable to breathe fire.

Everything will suddenly make a lot of sense to Hagrid, and he’ll ask if there’s anything you can do to help her.

You will inform him about the potion you brewed together with Penny.

Still, Hagrid will be unsure if using the potion is the best course of action. You have three options to try and persuade him. Each of these will lead to a similar outcome, so feel free to pick whichever one you prefer.

In the end, he will agree to let you administer the potion to the dragon, but with a condition.

You’ll gladly agree with him.

You will then get to try to cure the dragon by giving her Penny’s potion.

This requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to your character and the Chinese Fireball. Prioritize these if you want to save as much energy as possible.

The potion will work as intended, and the dragon will be able to breathe fire once again.

This will happen the same moment Cribb comes back. Needless to say, she won’t be too happy with this turn of events.

Hagrid will be overjoyed to see Cribb’s plan crumble to ruin.

You will ask him if this means that the owner will decide to keep the dragon.

He will nod and say that is indeed the case.

However, he will be sad to see the dragon leave, but at least he’ll know that she’s safe.

Not long after that, Hagrid will ask Penny and you to meet with him. Proceed to the Scorched Vale when you are ready.

When you arrive, you will notice that the dragon is still with Hagrid.

He’ll tell you there’s something important he wants to talk with you about.

Penny will ask if the owner changed their mind about selling the dragon to Cribb.

Thankfully, that won’t happen.

Hagrid will tell you that after seeing the dragon in her full strength, the owner decided to let her stay in the Reserve.

Penny will be delighted to hear this news.

Still, you will wonder if Cribb will simply set her sights on another dragon.

Or even worse, since the Chinese Fireball is now in the Reserve, Cribb might decide to take her forcefully.

Hagrid will say that she might indeed try to do that. However, thanks to your help, the dragon will surely be able to defend herself from the Dark witch.

Chinese Fireball will loudly roar in approval.

In other words, it is highly unlikely you’ll see Cribb anytime soon.

Hagrid will thank both of you for going out of your way to help the dragon.

Both Penny and you will say you were more than happy to help.

Hagrid will then suggest spending some time with the dragon to welcome her to the Reserve.

Welcoming the dragon requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is recommended not to start this task if you are low on energy.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Hagrid and the Chinese Fireball. Focus on these if you want to save some energy.

Hopefully, now that the dragon has settled down in the Reserve, she’ll be able to live peacefully.

Still, you will wonder why the owner changed their mind about wanting to have a dragon that can breathe fire.

According to Hagrid, the owner was very surprised to see the dragon breathe fire.

However, only a few minutes later, the owner returned to Hagrid and asked him to keep the dragon.

Needless to say, people should be careful with their wishes, especially if those involve dangerous creatures.

In any case, you will be glad that things turned out this way.

And apparently, the dragon will be glad too.
