Chapter 7
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, are you ready for Chapter Seven of Year Three of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery? In the previous chapter, you visited Zonko’s with Tulip in order to procure the Jumbo Dungbomb for her ultimate prank. The shopkeeper told you that in exchange for it, you’ll have to obtain some items for him. You managed to get the baby Mandrake from the Herbology Class and you helped Madam Rosmerta in exchange for a rare butterbeer. Also, Rowan showed you the strange letter that he found in your dormitory. Afterward, you went to Zonko’s and got the Jumbo Dungbomb for Tulip’s ultimate prank. Later on, you used it on Merula and her cronies with great success. Both Barnaby and Ismelda were chased away, and you were able to confront Merula about the second key for Jacob’s room. However, you had to duel her to get it, which wasn’t much of a challenge for you.
Now that you have both of the keys, you can finally open your brother’s room. There is, however, the waiting time of three hours before you can do so. Instead, you should focus on the lessons part of the chapter first. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Training Grounds.

To unlock Loop-the-Loop lesson, you need to earn a total of six stars from Flying Class. There are various ways to do so, some faster than the others, but less rewarding and others more rewarding but slower to complete. Pick a class combination that suits you the most and hit the Start button to begin.

As for these classes, follow the usual routine – tap on the glowing objects to complete actions. This will fill up the star meter and earn you stars. Focus on the actions with higher cost in order to optimize the energy usage.

And as always, complete mini-tasks successfully in order to gain additional Courage points.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to continue.

Now that the lesson has been unlocked, you can head back to the Training Grounds to attend it. Completing Loop-the-Loop requires you to earn five stars within three hours. Since you need all the stars to pass, it is highly recommended to have full energy before starting this.

This lesson should be done in a similar way as any of the other classes. Simply follow the same guidelines and you’ll be done in no time.

When you obtain all five stars, it is time to demonstrate Loop-the-Loop. Trace the path on the screen in order to perform this.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards and continue. This will increase your energy limit by one, which will make completing the future tasks and lessons a bit easier.

One down, one to go. Proceed to the Transfiguration Classroom for your second lesson of the chapter.

Similar to the previous one, this lesson also requires you to earn a total of six stars in order to unlock it. One of the quickest ways to do so is by taking three of the one-hour classes, but if you want to gain some extra rewards, you might want to consider a different class combination.

Normally, do these classes like any other so far and you shouldn’t have any issues with them.

Once you are done, Owl to Opera Glasses lesson should be unlocked, so proceed back to the classroom to attend it.

Completing this one requires you to earn five stars within three hours. All of the stars are needed to pass, therefore you should be on full energy before starting it.

Like before, complete the actions by tapping on the glowing objects. This will fill up the star meter and you’ll earn stars you need to complete the lesson.

And give it your best to successfully complete mini-tasks. This will award you with additional Knowledge attribute points.

When you obtain all five stars, it is time to turn your owl into the opera glasses. Trace the wand movement on the screen in order to cast the spell.

Now that the lessons part of the chapter is done, you can continue the story. You will notice that you have received a new side quest. As always, you should focus on completing the side quests as soon as they appear since they have pretty decent rewards. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard.

When you get there, you’ll notice that some characters have something to tell you. Tap on their speech bubbles to find out what they have to say.

Afterward, tap on the exclamation mark to join your friends’ conversation. During it, you’ll learn that someone famous is coming to Hogwarts. Rowan will ask you what will you do in case it’s a Curse-Breaker. You have three options to respond with.

It is recommended to go with the first option since that one will award you with ten Courage points. None of the choices will have any impact on the quest, so you might as well maximize the attribute points gain. When you’re done, your next task will be to go to the Great Hall. Hit the GO button and proceed there.

Before the special guest arrives, you will have some time to look around. This task requires you to earn five stars within one hour with one being needed to pass.

Keep in mind that you can slide the screen left and right to see all of the actions available to you. All in all, this should be an easy task to complete.

When you are done, Professor McGonagall will introduce the special guest – Rita Skeeter. She will explain that she was granted a permission to concoct a wizarding competition in order to determine the most promising witch or wizard.

Next, you will need to meet your friends at the Courtyard and discuss the competition. When you get there, you will be able to interact with certain characters by tapping on their speech bubbles in order to see what they have to say.

After that, tap on the exclamation mark to join the conversation your friends are having. Penny will ask for your opinion about the competition. You can respond in three different ways.

You can feel free to pick any of the options since there isn’t much of an impact on the quest. However, it is worth noting that the third option is worth ten Courage points, so you might want to go with that one. For the next task, you’ll need to go to the Potions Classroom.

On your way there, you’ll encounter Rita who will ask you to share whatever you know regarding your brother’s disappearance and in exchange, she’ll ask her contacts to help you find him.

It is recommended to pick the first option as long as you meet the attribute requirement. The general outcome of the quest is unaffected regardless of the choice you make here, so you might as well earn some extra attribute points while you’re at it.
When you enter the Potions Classroom, you will notice that some of the students have something to tell you. Tapping on their speech bubbles will reveal what they have to say.

In order to complete this task, you need to collect five stars within eight hours. Since only one star is required to pass, this is pretty much the same as a regular eight-hours Potions Class.

Simply do this like any other class and you’ll be done before you know it.

After this class is done, Snape will say that both you and Merula made equally good concoctions, so Rita will decide to break the tie by asking you to tell her something dirty about your opponent. Merula will immediately tell her the things about your brother, but apparently, Rita already knows all that. She’ll then ask if you have something better than that. You can choose to tell her about Merula’s parents or not.

If you go with the first option, Rita will be impressed and you’ll be the one winning this round of competition. The next part of the competition is the Transfiguration. Hit the GO button and proceed to the classroom. When you get there, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students by tapping on their speech bubbles.

Afterward, Professor McGonagall will hold a short introduction and then the class will begin. This task requires you earn five stars within three hours with one being required to pass.

This should be done same as any other Transfiguration Class. Simply focus on the actions with the high cost and you’ll be done quickly and easily.

Also, use the opportunity to earn some additional Knowledge points by successfully completing the mini-tasks.

After you’re done with the lesson, you’ll be tasked with demonstrating Felifors. Trace the wand movement on the screen in order to cast this spell.

Rita will then ask if you think that you deserve a bit more praising. You have two response options.

It is highly recommended to pick the first option since it will award you with ten Empathy points as well as twenty House Points. The second option will only give you five attribute and ten House Points. Regardless of the choice, you’ll be the winner of this round of the competition. The next part is the Flying Class. There is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed.

Either wait for a while or use some gems if that suits you better. In any case, once you are able to continue, head to the Training Grounds. Again, you’ll be able to check what some of the characters have to say by tapping on their speech bubbles.

Like the previous one, this task requires you to earn five stars within three hours. This shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve since only one star is needed to pass.

Treat this in the same way as any other Flying Class. There isn’t much to say other than this is a good opportunity to get some additional rewards since you can earn all five stars with around fifty energy or so.

Once the class is over, Rita will ask for your opinion regarding this round’s winner. You have three possible options to respond with.

It is highly recommended to go with the second or the third option since those will award you ten House Points each while the only thing you’ll gain from the first choice is five attribute points.
For the next part of the competition, you should proceed to the Charms Classroom… right after the waiting time of three hours has passed.

As soon as you arrive, you’ll be able to check what some of the students think about the competition by tapping on their speech bubbles.

After a couple of witty remarks from Professor Flitwick, the class will start. Like before, for this one you also need to earn five stars within three hours with one being needed to pass.

The approach is similar to any other lesson and you’ll be done in no time.

Once you earn all five stars, Professor Flitwick will cast the Levitation Charm on Rita and you’ll be tasked to use Finite Incantatem to reverse the effect. Trace the wand movement on the screen in order to cast General Counter-Spell.

As for the next part, you need to go to the Training Grounds. Proceed there to see what the next part of the competition is about. Once you arrive you’ll be able to interact with the other characters by tapping on their speech bubbles.

For this next part, Rita wants you to duel one of the other students. You can choose who to go against.

Feel free to pick whoever you want, since the general outcome of this quest will be unaffected by this choice. Once you decide, tap on the crossed wands icon to open the task window. It will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the gold cost.

At this point, your attributes should be reasonably higher than the recommended ones, so that should make this duel a bit easier.

The next task is to talk to Rita in private. There are three hours of waiting time before you can proceed.

Once you are able to continue, head to your Common Room. Rita will praise your cleverness and offer you to be her apprentice once you graduate. You have two options to respond with.

Both options will award you with five attribute points without impacting the general outcome of the quest, so feel free to go with the option you find more appropriate for your character. Afterward, Rita will ask you for an interview. You can choose to tell her the truth or lie about most of the questions she asks you.

Like before, these options will not have an impact on the outcome of the quest, so you might as well go with the second option to earn some extra Knowledge points, as long as you meet the attribute requirement. After that, tap on the exclamation mark to open the task window. Doing the interview is a three hours long task which requires five stars to complete and one to pass.

There is nothing special about this task, simply do it like any other story task and you should be able to complete it with about fifty energy.

When you are done, the two of you will have an interesting conversation about your brother. You’ll be able to learn some new information, which will hopefully aid you in your quest to save him. Afterward, hit the GO button and proceed to the Great Hall. When you get there, you’ll notice that some of the characters have something to tell you. Tap on their speech bubbles to reveal what they have to say.

When you are done with that, you’ll talk a bit to your friends and all of you will agree that there is a possibility Rita could be “R”. Because of that, you’ll decide to ask around for a bit before she announces the winner of her competition. This task requires you to earn five stars within three hours with one being needed to pass.

Keep in mind that you can slide the screen left and right in order to see all the actions available to you.

Once you’re done, Rita will hold a short speech about the competition and then she will call out for you to announce the winner. You have three options to choose from.

If you go with the first option, Rita will simply change the winner to Merula, so keep that in mind when making this decision. It is basically either Merula or Rowan, so take your pick.

Afterward, you’ll have a little chat with Rita. She will award you with fifty House Points and wish you the best of luck in finding the Cursed Vaults. This will also conclude the quest. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards and continue.

Now that this quest has been dealt with, you can proceed to meet Tulip in the corridor near Jacob’s room.

Before you open the door, Tulip will ask if you are sure about doing this. You can answer in three different ways.

Each option will give you five attribute points without affecting the general outcome of the story, so feel free to pick whichever one you prefer the most. You’ll then enter the room and be greeted by none other than the Dark Lord himself!

This will terrify the both of you, and, you’ll immediately run away, horror-struck.

After you calm down, you’ll realize that it wasn’t actually Voldemort, but a Boggart assuming his form. Professor Snape will arrive then and warn you to cease your pursuit of the vaults if you don’t want to end up like your brother.

As soon as he leaves, you’ll tell Tulip that you need to find a way to learn Riddikulus Charm in order to defeat Boggart. Perhaps there is a book in the library that could help you learn that spell? That is where you should go next. Once you are in the library, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the students. Tap on them if you want to see what they have to say.

Finding the scroll will require you to earn five stars within three hours. Only one needed to pass, so it should be an easy task to accomplish.

Slide the screen left and right and you’ll be able to see all the available actions. Simply do the ones with the highest cost and you’ll be done before you know it.

Once you get all five stars, you’ll stumble upon some faded old scrolls. You’ll need to cast Lumos to be able to see the writings on them. Trace the path on the screen to cast the Wand-Lighting Charm.

You found the Riddikulus scroll! Tulip will approach you and ask why did your Boggart take the form of Voldemort. You have three options to respond with.

It is recommended to go with any of the first two choices as long as you meet the attribute requirements. Not only will those options award you with ten attribute points each, but if you select either of them, Madam Pince will award you with ten House Points as well. Your next task is learning Riddikulus, right after the eight hours of waiting time is over.

When you are able to continue, proceed to the Artefact Room to meet Tulip.

After talking for a bit, she will ask if you are ready to face another Boggart. You can respond in two ways.

Simply go with the first option if your Courage is level fifteen or above. Then you’ll get the task to learn Riddikulus. It requires earning five stars within three hours with one being required to pass.

It will take you around fifty energy points to complete this task. In other words, you shouldn’t have much trouble completing this in time.

When you earn all of the stars, you’ll need to cast the Unlocking Charm to open the locked cabinet and release the Boggart. Trace the wand movement on the screen in order to perform this task.

Immediately upon unlocking it, the Boggart will exit the cabinet and assume the shape of Tulip’s biggest fear – Merula. You’ll then have to trace the wand movement on the screen in order to cast Riddikulus Charm.

The spell will work and the result is something utterly hilarious.

Now that you have learned the Boggart-Banishing Spell, you can finally confront the one in Jacob’s room. But one mystery remains unsolved – why did Tulip’s Boggart take shape of Merula? After asking her this, she will tell you to meet her in the Great Hall.

When you arrive, you’ll receive the new task – talking with Tulip. This one behaves in a similar manner to Meal With a Friend mini-game, so you should be pretty familiar with the way it works. The window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the gold cost.

The best advice is to try to be friendly and supportive. These kinds of answers will usually work best and you’ll fill up the diamond meter in no time. Below are some of the questions and the answers to them.

Once you are done, Tulip will reveal some more information about her past partnership with Merula. Your next task will be returning to Jacob’s room and face your Boggart. However, there is a waiting period of eight hours before you are able to do so.

You can wait for a while or use some gems if you are impatient. Either way, once you are able to continue, proceed to your brother’s room to Meet Tulip. When you get there, Boggart Voldemort will return and Tulip will ask you to be brave. You have two options to choose from.

There isn’t much of a difference in the outcome of this choice, so as long as your Courage is at level sixteen or above, you should go with the first choice to maximize the attribute points gain. Then, you’ll need to cast Riddikulus. Trace the wand movement on the screen to cast the Boggart-Banishing Spell.

Thankfully, the spell will work and the Boggart will take a new and funnier form.

Now that this has been dealt with, you’ll need to cast Lumos to illuminate the room a bit.

Your next task is searching the room for any clues that could lead you to the next vault. In order to do so, you’ll have to earn five stars within three hours. However, only one is required to pass, so overall, this shouldn’t be too difficult.

As always, focus on the actions with the high cost in order to optimize the usage of energy. This way, it’ll take you around fifty energy points to complete the task.

When you are done, you’ll discover a note saying that the most probable location of the next vault is somewhere within the library.

This will also conclude the chapter. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

Wow, what a chapter! Now this leaves a lot to discuss. What were your favorite moments? How did you approach Rita’s competition? Who did you choose as a winner? Let us know in the comments below.
