Farewell My Prefect

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Farewell My Prefect Side Quest of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This side quest is available for students of Year 3, and it should unlock near the end of Chapter 7 of Year 3 as long as you completed the side quest for your house that became available during Chapter 3 of Year 3.

During this side quest, you will get to spend some time with your Prefect and learn some valuable lessons that will undoubtedly help you in the upcoming years of your Hogwarts studies. Once you start this side quest, your Prefect will ask you to meet in your Common Room, so go there when you are ready.

When you get to the Common Room you will learn that your Prefect is soon to leave Hogwarts for good after graduating. You can react to this in three different ways.

Picking the second option is recommended as long as you meet the attribute requirement. After talking for a while, you will learn that your Prefect wants to teach you a few things.

Hit the GO button and proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready. Once you arrive, you’ll see your Prefect standing near some target dummies.

As it seems, you will be learning the Freezing Charm, Immobulus. This spell is usable in a Sneaky stance in duels and it deals medium damage with a chance of small stun.

Learning Immobulus requires you to earn five stars within one hour. Since all five stars are required to pass, this could prove difficult to accomplish if you are low on energy. Because of this, you should wait until you are at full energy before starting the task.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and one of the training dummies. Prioritize those if you want to save a bit of energy.

When you are done, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to perform this.

From now on, you will be able to use the Freezing Charm in duels.

Your next task will be to meet your Prefect in the Potions Classroom. There is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. Since this side quest is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until the timer runs out.

Proceed to the Potions classroom once the waiting time is over.

The reason your Prefect wanted to meet you there is fairly simple – to teach you how to brew Babbling Beverage.

After talking for a bit, you’ll be asked an interesting question. You have three response options.

Each choice will reward you with five points in a different attribute without affecting the story much, so feel free to pick the option you prefer the most.

Moments later, you will start brewing Babbling Beverage.

Similar to the previous one, this task will also require you to earn five stars within one hour. As long as you have full energy prior to starting it, you should have no trouble completing this task in time.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your Prefect, the textbook, and the cauldron. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

When you are done, your Prefect will ask you to drink the potion. Once you do that, you will start babbling nonsense, which will result in some hilarious lines of dialogue.

You’ll then receive a new task to meet your Prefect in the Greenhouse Three. You will need to wait three hours before you can continue.

You will receive a reward for learning to brew Babbling Beverage. You can claim it in the Potions section of your Hogwarts records.

Proceed to the Herbology classroom once the waiting time is over.

When you get there, your Prefect will tell you about the next task. You will get to learn how to tend to a dangerous plant, Snargaluff.

In order to learn this, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. Since all the stars are required to pass, it is somewhat recommended to have full energy before starting the task.

This task is divided into two sections. The first section lasts until you fill one-half of the entire star meter. During it, you will find a bonus progress action tied to one of the plant pots.

During the second section, you will find bonus progress actions tied to your character and your Prefect. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Once you are done, your Prefect will ask you to meet in your Common Room a bit later for one last surprise.

Like before, there are three hours of waiting time before you can continue. Since this side quest is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

You will earn a reward for completing the previous task. You can claim it in the Herbology section of your Hogwarts records.

When you are able to, proceed to your Common Room to see what this surprise is.

After talking to your Prefect for a bit, you’ll be asked if you can guess the reason for all these lessons you had earlier. You have three options to choose from. All of the options will lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.

For all this, you will be rewarded with twenty-five House Points.

Not just that, but your Prefect will also promise to put up a good word with the Headmaster and the Head of your House. Who knows, you might even become a Prefect one day!

Your Prefect will wish you good luck with the rest of your Hogwarts journey.

This will conclude the side quest. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 5 Gems, 800 Experience points, and 50 Knowledge points.

That was quite an interesting side quest. You learned a lot of valuable lessons, and you also got to spend some time with your Prefect. And hopefully, one day you might become a Prefect as well!
