Chapter 1
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, are you ready for Chapter One of Year Four of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery? During the previous year, you managed to accomplish a great many things. You learned many valuable lessons, made some new friends, some new rivals. You even found some new information about your brother, but most importantly, you entered another Cursed Vault and broke the curse.
Now is the time for some new lessons, some new excitements, some new adventures, so hit that Start button to begin the first chapter of Year Four!

You’ll find yourself in the Great Hall. Immediately, you’ll notice that several characters have speech bubbles above them. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

When you are done, tap on the exclamation mark to join Penny and Rowan. After talking for a bit, you’ll notice that Ben is terrified of a mysterious red-haired woman standing next to Professor Dumbledore. You can then choose one of two options.

Each choice will award you with five attribute points, but if you decide to check on Ben, some bits of a story will change later on. What follows is the Headmaster’s traditional welcoming speech during which he will mention the events related to the Cursed Vaults that happened in the previous year.

Because of all that happened, Professor Dumbledore decided to seek the help of Patricia Rakepick, a renown curse-breaker, and his former student.

Once the speech is over, tap on the exclamation mark to initiate the conversation with Hagrid. He’ll tell you that he needs your help regarding something.

Your next task will be meeting Hagrid in the Clocktower Courtyard. If you decided to check on Ben earlier on, he’ll also come along.

Once you arrive, you’ll notice Tulip sitting near the fountain. Apparently, she was sleepwalking into the Forbidden Forest. Thankfully, Hagrid saw her in time.

If Ben is with you, he’ll say a few things about Madam Rakepick. After some more talking, you’ll be tasked with casting Episkey to cure Tulip’s headache. Trace the wand movement on the screen to successfully perform this charm.

The spell will work and Tulip will be able to go to the Hospital Wing. Your next story task is to visit her there. There is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. Instead, you can go and attend your first Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the year. Hit the GO button and head to the Castle Grounds.

When you get to the class, you’ll be able to interact with some of the other students by tapping on their speech bubbles.

After that, you’ll talk to Charlie and Ben for a bit, right before Merula interferes and starts throwing taunts your way. Charlie will offer to talk to her in your stead. You have two response options.

Accepting his offer will not only give you ten Empathy points, but will also lead to quite the hilarious dialogue between him and Merula, so it is definitely recommended to pick this option as long as your Empathy level is seventeen or higher. After that, Professor Kettleburn will address the students and explain what today’s lesson is about.

To complete it, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Since all the stars are required to pass, having full energy before beginning is somewhat recommended.

These lessons behave quite similarly to other classes you’ve had so far. As always – tap on the glowing objects to complete actions. This will fill up the star meter, and eventually, you will earn stars for your efforts.

And as usual, after you earn each of the stars, you will be offered a mini-task. Completing it successfully will award you with ten Courage points.

Lastly, when you earn all five stars, you’ll need to Capture Details of the creature. Trace the shape of the creature in order to perform this task.

Once you are done, hit the Collect button to continue.

Next, you have a Herbology class to attend. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Greenhouse.

To unlock Wiggentree lesson, you need to obtain a total of six stars from Herbology Class. There are several different ways to accomplish this. The fastest one is probably doing three of the two-hour classes. But if you want some additional rewards, you might want to consider doing two of the three-hour ones. Once you’ve made up your mind, hit the Start button to begin.

Approach these classes in the same manner as any of the previous ones you had. The one thing worth mentioning is to focus on the actions with a high cost in order to optimize the usage of energy.

Also, pay attention to the mini-tasks since completing those successfully will award you with some additional Empathy points.

As soon as you are done with these classes, Wiggentree lesson should be unlocked, so head back to the Herbology Classroom to attend it.

Once you enter, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students by tapping on their speech bubbles.

Afterward, Professor Sprout will hold a short introductory speech before the lesson begins.

To complete this one, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. As long as your energy is full when you start it, you shouldn’t have any problem.

There should be a decent amount of high-cost actions you can do, so you’ll be able to complete this lesson with about fifty energy or so.

Also, bear in mind that every mini-task is awarding you ten Empathy points, which can help you raise your attribute score.

Lastly, once you obtain all five stars, you’ll need to fertilize your Wiggentree. Trace the path on the screen to perform this action.

After you’re done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards and continue.

Now that you’re done with the lessons part of the chapter, you’ll notice that there is a new side quest available. In most cases, you should focus on completing these as soon as possible. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Great Hall to meet Gryffindor Prefect, Angelica.

There will be a handful of characters with the speech bubbles there. Tap on them if you want to see what they have to say.

You’ll then have a talk about the Cursed Vaults with Angelica. After mentioning ghosts at one point, Nearly Headless Nick will appear and join the conversation.

Your next task will involve talking to various other characters in the Great Hall. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours with one being required to pass.

There are several high-cost actions available, so you should be able to easily complete this.

When you are done, Sir Nicholas will remember an old Charms professor who used to talk about the vaults on some occasions. Exploring the Charms Classroom for clues is your next task. You’ll either have to wait for three hours until this task is available or spend some gems to speed up the process.

As soon as you are able to continue, head to the Charms Classroom to meet Nick.

In order to complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Since only one is required to pass, it should be a relatively easy thing to do.

There is nothing specific about this task, simply do it like any other so far and you should be fine.

Once you are done, you will find a clue that points to the Artefact Room. Hit the GO button and proceed there.

Searching the Artefact Room requires obtaining five stars within three hours. Similar to the other tasks, for this one you only need one star to pass.

It will take you around fifty energy to complete this task – pretty much the same as the previous one.

After you earn all five stars, you’ll discover another clue that will lead you to the Potions Classroom.

Once again, you’ll have to wait for three hours before being able to proceed. If you are really impatient, you can spend some gems to remove the waiting time. When you are able to continue, head for the Potions Classroom.

You’ll talk to Nick for a while and then he’ll show you why they call him Nearly Headless.

Your next task involves searching the Potions Classroom. Like with the other classes before this one, you need to earn five stars within three hours with being required in order to pass.

Repeat the same steps you did during previous tasks and you’ll be done quickly and easily.

Once you complete the task, you’ll find the Beaker of Bartholomew. Apparently, there are some Ancient Runes engraved in the glass.

However, before Sir Nick could examine them more closely, the caretaker will appear. After talking for a bit, Nick will offer to put Filch in his place. You have two options to choose from.

If you select the first option, you will only gain five attribute points, but on top of that, you’ll lose ten House Points. Going with the second option is therefore recommended as long as you meet the requirement since it will prevent you from losing any House Points and you’ll also gain ten Courage points. Afterward, you’ll discover a clue that leads to your Common Room. Hit the GO button and proceed there.

When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students by tapping on their speech bubbles.

Searching for clues requires you to earn five stars within three hours. Since only one star is needed to pass, this shouldn’t be too difficult of a task.

Keep in mind that you can slide the screen left and right in order to see all the available actions. Other than that, it is pretty much the same as any other story task.

After you complete this, you’ll manage to find the sigil of your house. There’s a message inscribed in it.

For the next task, you’ll need to go to the Great Hall and meet Angelica… after three hours of waiting time are over.

Once you are able to continue, proceed to the Great Hall. You’ll notice that various characters there have speech bubbles above them. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

Your next task involves explaining your discovery to Angelica. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours with one being required to pass.

As always, tap on the glowing objects to complete actions. This will fill up the star meter and eventually grant you stars. Actions with the higher cost will fill up more of the star meter, so consider that when choosing which ones to complete.

Once you are done, Sir Nick will bring up an interesting theory about the vaults.

Angelica will then ask what do you think the vaults hold. You have three different response options.

Each of the choices is worth five attribute points. There aren’t any significant differences in the outcome, so feel free to select the answer you find the most appropriate. After talking for a bit longer, the quest will be completed. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

Now that both the side quest and the lessons are done, you can resume the story. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Hospital Wing to meet Tulip.

When you arrive, you will find Madam Pomfrey tending to one of the students who sleepwalked into the Forbidden Forest and was attacked by some of its denizens.

Apparently, it’s not the first time something like this has happened. After talking for a bit longer, Madam Pomfrey will let you visit Tulip. This is your next task. In order to complete it, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Only one is required to pass, so this should be fairly easy to accomplish.

It will take you around twenty-five energy to complete this, so assuming you started with full energy, you’ll be done in no time.

Once you are done with this, Madam Rakepick will join you and ask if you will be willing to help her find the Cursed Vaults. You have two options to respond with.

Each of the options will award you five attribute points, but the general outcome of the story will not be affected, so feel free to select the one you prefer. Your next task will be meeting Madam Rakepick on the Training Grounds for a special lesson. However, there is a waiting period of three hours before you are able to proceed.

Either wait for a bit or spend some gems to remove the waiting time, it’s up to you. Either way, when you are able to continue, head for the Training Grounds. Madam Rakepick will explain to you the importance of the Shield Charm and will offer to teach you that spell. In order to learn it, you need to obtain five stars within three hours.

This lesson behaves like a story task. Also, it only requires one star for passing it, so this could make things easier. It’ll take you about fifty energy to complete this task, so all things considered, it’s not too difficult to achieve this.

When you complete this, Rakepick will tell you to prepare to shield yourself as she’ll cast the Blasting Curse on you. She’ll stand in front of you and ask if you’re ready. You can answer in two ways.

Selecting the first option is preferable as long as your Courage attribute is seventeen or higher. This will not only give you ten attribute points, but you’ll also get ten House Points for your bravery. Afterward, trace the wand movement on the screen to cast Protego.

The Shield Charm will work and you will successfully block Madam Rakepick’s Confringo. For your next task, you should meet Tulip in the West Corridor. On your way there, you’ll encounter Professor Kettleburn who is looking for a loose Chimaera. After he explains the situation, you’ll be able to react to it in two ways.

If your Courage is level seventeen or higher, it is recommended to go with the first option since it will award you ten attribute and ten House Points. Afterward, proceed to the Corridor to Meet Tulip.

When you arrive, the two of you will spy on Madam Rakepick and Professor Snape. You will learn from their conversation that another curse was unleashed. It was more than likely caused by someone’s meddling with another Cursed Vault.

You’ll also learn that the two of them are not particularly fond of one another. Shortly after, the chapter will be completed. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. This will also add Andre Egwu to your list of friends.
