Hello everyone, it’s time for Chapter Three of Year Four of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you and your friends gathered at the library to discuss the possible ways of entering the Forbidden Forest. Later on, Rowan presented you a theory that Madam Rakepick is the mysterious R. After talking for a while, you decided to ask some of the Hogwarts staff about her past and see if there is anything that could prove that the theory is correct. During the investigation, you learned a great many things, but you found nothing that could tie her directly to that mysterious person. However, all this investigating didn’t go unnoticed. Madam Rakepick wanted you to meet her in the Artefact Room. After talking for a while, she advised you to ask Professor Kettleburn regarding entering the Forbidden Forest.

As always, you should complete the lessons part of the chapter first. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Transfiguration Classroom.

To unlock Evanesco lesson, you need to obtain a total of nine stars from Transfiguration Class. There are numerous ways to achieve this. The fastest way involves doing three one-hour classes and one three-hour class. However, if you want to earn some extra rewards you might want to consider doing two eight-hour classes. Either way, decide which class combination works best for you and hit the Start button to begin.

Follow the usual steps for these classes – tap on the glowing objects to complete actions. This will fill up the star meter and you’ll earn stars that way. Actions with the higher cost fill up more of the star meter per energy point spent, so you should prioritize those.

Every time you obtain a star, you will be given a mini-task. Completing it successfully will award you ten Knowledge points.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards and continue.

Now that the lesson has been unlocked, head back to the Transfiguration Classroom to attend it.

To learn Evanesco, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Since all of the stars are required to pass, having full energy prior to starting it is highly recommended.

Do this like the classes you had beforehand and you shouldn’t have much trouble completing it.

Once you have all the stars, you will need to cast the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to cast Evanesco.

Congratulations! This spell could definitely find its use in one of your future adventures. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

Now is the time to take the second lesson of the chapter. Tap on the GO button and proceed to the Castle Grounds for your second Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the year.

When you arrive, you will be able to interact with several of the characters by tapping on their speech bubbles.

After that, Professor Kettleburn will announce today’s lesson – Bowtruckles. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours.

Complete this in a similar manner as other lessons you had so far. On average, it should take you around fifty energy to earn all five stars.

Also, try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks successfully in order to earn some additional Courage points.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to continue.

When the lesson is over, you will ask Kettleburn about entering the Forbidden Forest. He’ll be wondering why are you asking him this. You can respond in three different ways.

If your Empathy is level eighteen or higher, you should go with the third option to maximize the attribute points gain since all of the options will lead to the same outcome. You will have to help the Professor by studying Bowtruckles before you can discuss the Forbidden Forest further. Hit the GO button and proceed to the library.

As you arrive, you’ll notice that most of your friends are there. You’ll be able to check out what they have to say by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

Lucky for you, most of them are willing to lend you their help with studying. This task requires you to earn five stars within one hour. Only one star is needed for passing which makes completing this much easier.

On average, it’ll take you around twenty-five energy to complete this task, which should easily accomplishable with a single energy bar. Keep in mind that you can slide the screen left and right in order to see all the available actions.

The next thing on your list is writing an essay on Bowtruckles. Hit the GO button and proceed to your Common Room.

After telling Rowan about the essay you are about to write, he will be inspired to study as well. He’ll ask for your advice on the topic he should pick. You have three options to choose from.

The third option is the recommended one as long as you meet the attribute requirement. Otherwise, feel free to pick whichever one you prefer. Writing about Bowtruckles is a task that you can complete by earning five stars within one hour. Like most of the story tasks, passing it requires only one star.

Do this like any other story task and you should be done quickly and easily.

After you’re done, Rowan will tell you that the arrow you found in the Vault of Fear is similar to the ones used by Centaurs.

Your next task involves meeting Professor Kettleburn in the Clocktower Courtyard. However, at the same time, you’ll receive the side quest to help Penny. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Great Hall.

When you get there, you will be able to interact with some of the characters by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

Your first task for this quest involves helping Penny find her potion. To complete it, you need to obtain five stars within three hours.

Follow the same steps as with the other story tasks and you shouldn’t have much trouble with this one.

Even after looking everywhere, you won’t be able to find the potion. Then, an unexpected thing will happen.

Apparently, it was Merula who stole Penny’s potion and even got praised by the Professors like she was the one who brewed it. Penny will be furious about it and she’ll ask you what to do about it. You can respond in three ways.

Each of the options will award you five attribute points, and each will trigger a different reaction from her. Feel free to pick whichever you deem the most appropriate for the situation since they will all lead to the same outcome. For the next task, proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard to discuss the situation with Penny.

When you get there, you’ll see that some of the characters have speech bubbles above them. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

Afterward, talk to Penny about the plan. She will ask how would you assess the situation. You have three different options to pick from. The first and the second one require you to have level eighteen Knowledge and Courage respectively. Either of those is preferred as long as your attributes are high enough.

No matter which option you select, Penny will suggest that you use Polyjuice Potion to make Merula confess that she stole the potion.

You’ll then receive the task to discuss the plan. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours with one being required to pass.

You should be able to finish this task with around fifty energy or so, depending on the actions you complete. Basically, whenever you can, complete actions with four or five energy cost to optimize the energy usage.

After you are done with the task, Penny will ask who do you think would be most suitable to turn into and make Merula confess. You have three options to choose from.

Each of the choices is worth five attribute points, but in the end, Snape will be the one to go with. Your next task involves gathering the necessary ingredients. There is a three-hour waiting period before you can proceed.

Once you are able to continue, head to the Potions Classroom to look for the ingredients with Penny.

After talking to her for a while, you’ll need to cast the Wand-Lighting Charm to make the search easier.

Looking for the ingredients requires you to earn five stars within three hours. As before, only one star is needed to pass.

As usual, complete the actions by tapping on the glowing objects. This will fill up the star meter and after a certain amount, you will earn a star. Focus on the actions with the high cost in order to optimize the energy usage.

When you complete the task, you will gather several of the ingredients, but you’ll still need a few more things. Luckily, Penny’s friend named Liz Tuttle can help you with it. Apparently, she likes magical creatures a lot. So much that she gives names to them. You can react to this in two different ways.

Each of the choices will give you five attribute points, but the outcome is pretty much the same, so feel free to pick the option you prefer. Your next task is to meet Liz in the Upstairs Corridor. Hit the GO button and proceed there when you are ready.

Once you arrive, you’ll see that Liz is already waiting for you. Upon interacting with her, she will raise her wand at you and ask a weird question. You have three response options.

Each of those will award you with five attribute points and will also trigger a different response from Liz, but the general outcome will be the same. After talking to her for a while, she will hand you the missing ingredients.

You will either have to wait for three hours or use some gems before you are able to proceed with the next task.

Once you are able to continue, head to the Artefact Room to meet Penny. Now that you have all the ingredients ready, you can brew the potion. This task requires you to obtain five stars within three hours in order to complete it. Similar to the previous ones, it also needs only one star for passing.

Try to focus on the high-cost actions and you should be able to complete the task with around fifty energy or so.

When the task is done, hit the Collect button to continue.

The only thing you need to obtain now is a piece of Snape. Pretty much anything will do the trick.

Getting Snape’s hair is your next task. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Potions Classroom.

When you get there, you will be able to interact with Merula and Rowan by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

Once the class starts, Snape will praise Merula’s potion making skills. You can react to this in three different ways.

Be careful about this choice because selecting any of the first two options will result in a loss of ten House Points. The third one is highly recommended since it will prevent losing any House Points and will also yield a higher attribute reward. To complete this class, you need to earn five stars within three hours. One is required to pass, so it should be easy to achieve.

There is nothing specific about this class that makes it different from the other ones, so simply do it in the same manner and you’ll be able to finish it with ease.

Once the class is over, you’ll approach Snape and you’ll be given three options. Each of those will award you five attribute points without affecting the outcome, so feel free to pick the one you find the most appropriate for your character.

Regardless of what you pick, Snape will tell you that you’d better be gone by the time he turns around. You are then given a second choice. This one will significantly change the quest, so choose carefully. If your Courage is level eighteen or higher, you can choose to pluck his hair, which will grant you the option to impersonate him later on. This option is preferred since it will make the further parts of the quest much more interesting.

The next part of the quest is finishing the Polyjuice Potion. Once the three hours of waiting time are over, proceed to the Artefact room to meet Penny.

If you did get the strand of Snape’s hair, Penny will be overjoyed by your success.

However, even if you are unsuccessful, she will have a backup hair strand of the Slytherin Prefect – Felix Rosier. In any case, your next task is finishing the potion. Like the previous ones, this requires you to earn five stars within three hours with one being needed to pass.

Do this like any other story task so far and you’ll be able to complete it with about fifty energy.

The next task will differ significantly depending on your success in obtaining Snape’s hair. If you managed to do it, you’ll be impersonating him in the Great Hall, otherwise, you will turn into Slytherin Prefect – Felix Rosier. In any case, there will be a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed.

The following section will go through the part of the quest where you assume Snape’s form. Bear in mind that the other version in which you assume the form of Felix has the same amount of tasks and rewards, the only thing that differs is the story. When you are able to continue, head to the Great Hall. Thankfully, you’ll be able to change into Snape behind Hagrid’s back without anyone noticing it.

There will be quite a few comical scenes following this transformation. You’ll approach the High Table and hear Dumbledore and McGonagall talking about Harry Potter. Knowing that Snape is sensitive about that topic, the Headmaster will ask if he had offended you. You can answer in three different ways.

The first and the third option are each worth five attribute points, while the second one will gain you ten Courage points. It is advised to go with that one as long as you meet the requirement since the outcome of all three choices is pretty much the same, save some minor lines of dialogue. The next task involves talking to other professors in the Great Hall. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass, so this should be relatively easy to accomplish.

There will be plenty of the book’s references during this task, so make sure to check out the characters’ lines after each action is complete.

When you are done, you’ll call Merula to approach the High Table. You’ll then be given two options to deal with her.

Each of the choices will expose the truth, so it is recommended to go with the second one as long as your Knowledge is level nineteen or higher. You will then be given another choice – you can either go easy on her or scold her.

From a sheer stat-gain point of view, selecting the first option is recommended. However, going with the second one will result in some rather hilarious lines of dialogue, so feel free to go with the one you want as both will end up with the same outcome. After you’re done with Merula, the Headmaster will give Penny the recognition she deserves.

And for your trouble, Dumbledore will award you with ten House Points. Apparently, it takes a lot more than a Polyjuice potion to fool him.

Shortly after, the quest will be completed and you’ll be able to Collect some of the amazing rewards.

Now that this quest has been dealt with, you can proceed with the story. Head to the Courtyard to meet Professor Kettleburn.

Once you arrive, you’ll notice that the Professor is nowhere to be found. Instead of him, a mysterious hooded figure will appear and hit you with the Body-Bind Curse. You’ll then receive a warning to stay away from the Forbidden Forest, Cursed Vaults, and Madam Rakepick.

Shortly after, the chapter will complete. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. This will also add Charlie Weasley to your list of friends, and you’ll be able to level up the friendship with him from now on.

Now that was an exciting chapter. How did you like it? What were your favorite moments? Did you turn into Snape or Felix for the Polyjuice Potion quest? Let us know in the comments below.
