Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, are you ready for Chapter One of Year Five of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery? In the previous year, you managed to accomplish a great many things. You found out that the sleepwalking curse has struck Hogwarts and realized it has something to do with one of the Cursed Vaults. Thanks to your dedication and perseverance and with the tremendous help from your friends, you managed to find it, break the curse and once again save all of Hogwarts. Now is the time for new lessons, new friendships, and new adventures.
Upon starting the Chapter, you’ll find yourself at the Start-of-Term Feast in the Great Hall. You’ll immediately notice that there are speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those to find out what they have to say.
After that, Penny will greet you and congratulate you on becoming a Prefect (if you completed the adventure to become one). She’ll then ask you about your summer holidays. You can answer in three ways. Each of the options lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer the most.
Penny will then introduce you to her little sister, Beatrice, who just got sorted into Hufflepuff.
She’ll immediately ask to join you on your next curse-breaking adventure. You have three options to respond with. Since each of those have pretty much the same outcome, it’s suggested to select either the second or the third to gain some more attribute points.
Beatrice will then give you a toy Puffskein which simply looks so adorable.
Shortly after, both of them will go to the Hufflepuff Common Room and you’ll get the task to catch up with your friends. Completing it requires earning at least one out of five stars within an hour.
You’ll need approximately thirty energy to complete this task, which should easily be doable with a single energy bar.
Shortly after you’re done, Professor McGonagall will hold the traditional welcoming speech since the Headmaster is currently absent from Hogwarts.
She’ll also introduce you to your new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor – Madam Rakepick.
Your next task involves meeting Bill in the Library. However, there is a waiting period of three hours before you’re able to proceed. At this point, you will also receive two of the side quests. The first one is called the Egg Hunt. It will be featured separately on our Walkthrough Page for Year Five. The second one is called Yer a Prefect and is a continuation of Become a Prefect Adventure. In any case, you should proceed to the Charms Classroom for your first lesson of the year.
To unlock the Cheering Charm Lesson, you need to earn a total of nine stars from the Charms Class. There are several ways to do this, but perhaps two of the most popular ones involve doing either three of the three-hour or two of the eight-hour classes. Once you are ready, hit the Start button to begin.
Follow the usual routine when doing these classes – spend energy by tapping on the glowing objects. This way, you’ll complete the actions and fill up the star meter and eventually, you’ll earn stars.
Every time you earn a star, you’ll be given a mini-task. Completing it successfully will grant you ten Empathy points.
Once you obtain enough stars, the Lesson will be unlocked, so head back to the classroom to attend it.
Learning the Cheering Charm is a three-hour task requiring you to earn five stars to pass. Because of this, you definitely want to avoid having low energy before the start.
Do this just like the classes you had before and you shouldn’t encounter any problems.
When you earn the fifth star, you’ll need to cast the Cheering Charm. Trace the wand movement on the screen to perform it.
Congratulations! Your first lesson is now complete. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards and continue.
For your next lesson, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom.
Once you arrive, you’ll get the special look of the classroom.
You’ll also be able to interact with some of the students by tapping on their speech bubbles.
Madam Rakepick will introduce herself to everyone. She’s quite confident that she’ll stay in this position longer than one year.
You’ll then get to ask her one question. You have three possible choices, so this will be a nice opportunity to learn some information. Feel free to pick whichever one you prefer since those won’t have an effect on the outcome of the story.
Shortly after, Madam Rakepick will ask you to cast the General Counter-Spell to remove the Concealment Charm she used earlier.
The moment you cast it, the ghoul standing next to the Professor will be revealed.
Shortly after, the lesson will begin. To complete it, you need to earn three stars within three hours.
This lesson is fairly similar to any of the three-hour classes you can take. Follow the same steps and you won’t have any trouble completing it.
And just like in any other class, focus on completing the mini-tasks to earn some additional Courage points.
When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
Madam Rakepick will then ask you how would you deal with the Ghoul? You have three response options.
Each of those is an effective way to deal with the creature, so you can pick the one you prefer. You’ll then be tasked with using the spell you chose on the Ghoul.
Shortly after, the class will be dismissed. Now that the lessons are done, you can proceed to the Library to meet Bill.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with certain characters and see what they have to say.
This is the first time you’ll meet Percy Weasley and his rat Scabbers.
You’ll talk for a bit and then decide to join the Weasleys for a study session. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours with one star being needed to pass.
Be sure to check the dialogue lines after completing the actions since some of those are fairly interesting.
Shortly after you’re done, Madam Rakepick will appear and ask Bill and you to follow her to the Training Grounds.
Once you are ready, proceed there for your next task.
When you arrive, you’ll notice that Merula is also invited. Apparently, the three of you were handpicked by the Professor to find the next Cursed Vault.
You have three options to respond to her. All of those lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you find the most appropriate for your character.
You’ll talk some more and then get the task to learn the Incarcerous Spell. To complete it, you need to obtain five stars within three hours and since all of those are required to pass, you definitely want to avoid having an empty energy bar prior to starting the task.
You’ll need around 55-60 energy to complete this lesson on average, depending on the actions you do. Overall, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Once you are done, Madam Rakepick will ask you to cast the Incarcerous Spell on Merula.
The spell will work and Merula will be bound by the ropes. In fact, it will work so well that she’ll even struggle to breathe. You should quickly cast the Counter-Spell to free her.
Congratulations! You’ve just learned one of the most powerful dueling spells. This one is usable in the Defensive stance and it will always Stun your opponent for two rounds. It doesn’t deal any damage, but disabling your enemy for two rounds is immensely powerful. Madam Rakepick will explain a few more things and then the lesson will be over.
Your next task is to meet Ben in the Courtyard. There is, however, a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed.
In any case, once the waiting time has passed, you should head to the Courtyard to meet him.
When you get there, Ben will be very surprised that you decided to show up. You can respond in three ways. All three options will lead to the same outcome, but Ben’s reaction will differ depending on what you select.
You’ll then get a task to talk about Ben’s attack in the previous year and see if you can deduct something that could help you find out who controlled him. This is an eight-hour task requiring at least one out of five stars to pass.
There are only two glowing objects you can tap on – your character and Ben. Actions tied up to Ben have higher energy cost on average so you should focus on those if you are looking to optimize the energy usage.
Once you complete the task, Ben will ask if you still trust him after everything. You have three options to respond with. This choice has no immediate effect on the story, but it could possibly influence it in the future, so if you care about Ben, you should consider picking the first option as long as your friendship level with him is nine or higher.
Not long after that both of you will be attacked by the Mysterious Dark Wizard. It appears that whoever controlled Ben in the previous year has found someone else to manipulate this time.
He will deliver a dire warning to you before leaving.
