Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, it’s time for Chapter Two of Year Five of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you started Year Five of your Hogwarts studies. You got to catch up with your friends and discuss the events of the previous year. Penny introduced you to her little sister Beatrice, who was clearly very excited to finally meet you. You also attended your first Defence Against the Dark Arts under the tutelage of Professor Rakepick. Afterward, you were introduced to Percy Weasley, a highly ambitious younger brother of Bill and Charlie. Later on, Bill, Merula and you were handpicked by Professor Rakepick to serve as her assistants with finding and breaking the Cursed Vaults. Lastly, you went to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet Ben and discuss the events of the previous year. In the end, you got attacked by the Dark Wizard. Apparently, someone else got controlled by whoever is pulling the strings and it’s up to you to discover who it is.
As for this chapter, as usual, you can do the lessons part first. Head to the Potions Classroom when you’re ready.
In order to unlock the Hair-Raising Potion Lesson, you need to earn a total of nine stars from the Potions Class. Like before, you have several different ways of doing this, so feel free to pick the combination of classes that suits you the most.
As for these lessons, follow the standard routine – tap on the glowing objects to complete actions and fill up the star meter. The higher the cost of the action – the more of the star meter it fills.
Every time you obtain a star, you’ll be given a mini-task. Each one you complete successfully will grant you ten Knowledge points.
Once you are done, the lesson should be unlocked, so head back to the classroom to attend it.
Learning to brew the Hair-Raising Potion is a three-hour task which requires you to obtain five stars to pass. Because of this, you definitely want to avoid having low energy before starting the lesson.
Follow the same steps you did in the previous classes and you’ll be done quickly and easily.
When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your reward and continue.
Your second lesson of the chapter is the Hex-Deflection. Once ready, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom.
Unlocking this lesson requires you to earn nine stars from Defence Against the Dark Arts Classes. As with the previous one, there is a number of combinations to achieve this, so just pick the one that suits you best and hit the Start button to begin.
Whenever you can, do the high-cost actions in order to optimize the energy usage.
The new thing you’ll encounter in this class is the mini-task to sense Hexes. You’ll need to tap and hold to move the icon up the bar. Once it reaches the green zone, you need to release the bar and slowly tap to keep it in the green zone for a few seconds to succeed.
Once you have all nine stars, the lesson will be unlocked so you should head back to the classroom to attend it.
To learn the Hex-Deflection Spell, you need to earn three stars within three hours.
Despite only needing three stars, it’ll still take you around fifty energy to finish this lesson.
After earning the third star, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the path on the screen to cast Salvio Hexia.
Now that you’re done with the classes, you can focus on continuing the story. Proceed to the Three Broomsticks for your next task.
Once you arrive, you’ll be able to check out what some of the characters have to say by tapping on their speech bubbles.
Both Bill and Merula will await you at the table. Bill will be very surprised to hear that you’ve been attacked again.
Merula, on the other hand, will have quite a different reaction.
You’ll then tell her that in order to find the remaining vaults, you have to work together. She’ll seem genuinely surprised by this and will ask if you trust her now. You can respond in three ways.
All of the options will lead to the same outcome, so you can pick whichever one you like the most. Bill will say that if there are any remaining problems Merula and you have between each other, you should talk about it now, rather than later. This is your next task. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within an hour and for passing, you need at least one star.
There are a couple of very interesting lines of dialogue during this task, so make sure to check them out. Other than that, you should easily be able to earn all five stars with a single energy bar.
Shortly after you’re done, Penny will arrive to inform you that her sister Beatrice is missing.
You’ll offer your help without hesitating. The first place to search will be the Red Cap’s hole in the Forbidden Forest. Bill will advise you to take someone else along since it could be very dangerous to venture there alone. You have three options to choose from. This is one of the rare opportunities to bring Merula along, so you might want to consider it. However, all three choices will eventually lead to the same outcome and you can feel free to pick either of your friends to accompany you.
The next task involves meeting the friend you selected at the Red Cap’s Hole. Hit the GO button and proceed there when you are ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice that Beatrice isn’t there, but if she was, you might find some clues.
Searching for clues is a three-hour task which requires you to earn at least one out of five stars to pass.
Focus on the actions with the high cost to save some energy and complete the task faster.
When you are done, you’ll notice Percy’s rat – Scabbers rummaging through Red Cap’s belongings.
The next place to look is the Spider’s Lair. There is a waiting period of eight hours before you can proceed, so you’ll have to wait for a bit or use some gems to speed things up.
Once you’re able to continue, head to the Spider’s Lair to meet your friend.
Upon arriving, you’ll find one angry Acromantula awaiting you there.
Your friend will be quick to jump to your defense.
This will infuriate the spider, so you’ll be forced to fight it again. Tap on the crossed wands to bring up the task window.
It will display the recommended attribute levels and the gold cost of each attempt.
After you defeat it, he’ll admit that he didn’t see Beatrice.
There is just one more thing you have to do. Trace the wand movement on the screen to cast the Arania Exumai spell and banish the Acromantula.
Your next task is to meet Bill and Penny in the Potions Classroom. Hit the GO button and proceed there when you are ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice that Penny is brewing something. Apparently, she’s making a potion that will help her locate her sister.
Helping her brew a potion is your next task. To complete it, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. One of those is needed to pass, so overall, this should be fairly easy to achieve.
Overall, you should be able to earn all five stars with around fifty-five energy or so.
Once you complete the task, Penny will drink the potion. However, much to her disappointment, it won’t work and she’ll be unable to locate her sister.
She’ll quickly become infuriated because there is nothing she can do to find Beatrice. You can react in three ways. She will react better to the first and the third option, so it is recommended to pick one of those.
Either way, Merula will appear with the good news. She found Beatrice!
Sadly, before she can take you to her, she has to find Madam Rakepick, which is why you have to wait three hours before you can continue.
Once the waiting time is over, proceed to the Grand Staircase to meet your friends.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.
You’ll then find out that Beatrice is trapped in one of the portraits and she can’t get out. Apparently, none of the known spells have any effect on her condition.
According to Madam Rakepick, Beatrice’s condition is most likely tied to the cursed vault. Only by finding the vault and breaking its curse will you be able to free her.
The most logical way to approach this situation is by questioning the other portraits. There is a high chance one of them saw something. This is a three-hour task which requires you to obtain at least one of the five stars to pass.
Most of the actions for this task have pretty low cost, which is why you’ll need close to sixty energy to earn all five stars.
Sadly, the portraits weren’t very helpful, to say the least. Madam Rakepick will say that it is of utmost importance to find the next vault or Beatrice may be lost forever.
Shortly after, the caretaker will appear and tell you that it is time for your detention in the kitchens.
Sadly, there is nothing Madam Rakepick can do to help you this time. It looks like you’ll be heading to detention after all.
That will mark the end of the second chapter. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
Wow, what a surprising turn of events! It appears that someone already tempered with the next Cursed Vault and unleashed a new curse. Poor Beatrice was its first victim. And to top things off, you have to spend time in detention now. What will happen when you get in the Kitchens? Is Pitts really as bad as Filch says he is?
