Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to the Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Two of Year Five of our Magical Journey for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you visited all of the Common Rooms to meet the House Ghosts and see if any of them can help you locate Peeves. You then went to see Professor Binns and seek his advice regarding poltergeists. Lastly, you visited the Prefects’ Bathroom to talk to Duncan Ashe and ask him for help. He eventually agreed to help set up the meeting with Peeves.
You can start things in the usual manner – completing the lessons. Head to the Potions Classroom for your first lesson.
Unlocking the Wit-Sharpening Potion Lesson requires earning nine stars from the Potions classes. Select the ones most suitable to your playstyle and hit the Start to begin.
While doing these, try focusing on the 5 cost actions whenever they’re available in order to save some energy.
Also, try your best to do all of the mini-tasks to earn some extra Knowledge points.
Once you have all nine stars, head back to the classroom to attend the lesson.
Learning to brew Wit-Sharpening Potion requires earning five stars within three hours. All of those are needed to pass, so avoid starting this with an empty energy bar.
You’ll need about 55-60 energy to finish this lesson, depending on the actions you do.
When you get all five stars, wave your wand over the cauldron to finish the potion.
For the second lesson of this chapter, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom.
To unlock the Vipera Evanesca lesson, you need to acquire a total of nine stars from the Defence Against the Dark Arts classes. Like before, pick the combination of classes suitable to your liking and hit the Start to begin.
In most cases, you’ll have plenty of 5 cost actions available here, which will make it easier to earn all the stars you need.
And as always, try doing all the mini-tasks to earn some extra Courage Points.
Upon earning all the necessary stars, head back to the classroom to attend the lesson.
Learning the Vipera Evanesca spell requires obtaining five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so having close to full energy prior to starting the lesson is highly recommended.
You’ll need around 55-60 energy to complete this one. Like before, prioritize 5 cost actions to save some energy.
Upon earning five stars, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to perform it.
Now that the lessons have been dealt with, you can continue with the story. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet Duncan.
When you get there, you can interact with some of the characters before continuing.
Duncan will then tell you that in order to attract Peeves’ attention, you need to cause some chaos.
He’ll then talk to you about what you need to do to attract Peeves. Doing that requires earning five stars within an hour. One star is needed to pass.
You’ll need around 35 energy or so to finish this one. However, if you want to save some energy, you can earn one star and let the timer expire. This way, you can save up to 20 energy points.
Once you are done, you’ll need to cast Lacarnum Inflamari on either Snape or Filch to set their cloaks on fire. This choice won’t affect the overall story but will be referenced later on.
When you make up your mind, Duncan will distract them while you cast the spell.
You’ll then witness quite a funny scene involving the victim of your prank.
Apparently, this was chaotic enough to get Peeves to appear.
After talking to him for a bit, you’ll realize that you’ll have to do much more in order to convince him to hand over the vault portrait to you. Your next step requires you to head to the Grand Staircase.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those to interact with them if you are interested to see what they have to say.
Peeves will then reveal his plan to you.
In case you completed Call to Knighthood adventure, it will be referenced here.
Shortly after that, you’ll approach Sir Cadogan. He’ll be curious to know the reason for your visit and you have three options to respond with. Each of those will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
You’ll then get the task to annoy Sir Cadogan. Completing it requires earning five stars within three hours while passing only needs one star.
There should be quite a few 5 cost actions available, which will make this task a bit easier to complete.
When you are done, Sir Cadogan will be quite angry at you.
Needless to say, Peeves will be quite pleased by the outcome.
For the next task, you should proceed to the Training Grounds.
When you get there, you’ll talk to the poltergeist for a while before he reveals his plan to you.
Apparently, he wants you to fight Kettleburn’s Chimaera.
The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the gold cost of each attempt.
Most of the time, Chimaera will go either Aggressive or Defensive. This is why it is highly recommended to go Defensive. Try not to go Aggressive at all because if Chimaera beats you with Defensive, it will always stun you for two turns, which can be really hard to deal with. The safest option is to simply spam Defensive and blast it with Bombarda whenever you win.
Once you are victorious, Professor Kettleburn, Liz and Barnaby will arrive to help you.
Professor will give Chimaera a steak which will calm it down.
Next, you’ll need to head to the Kitchens and cause some chaos there.
When you get there, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say to you.
You’ll notice Merula standing there, waiting for you. It appears that Madam Rakepick wants to know if you managed to locate Peeves.
After explaining everything to her, she’ll want to know your next move. You can choose whether you want to cooperate with Peeves or Challenge him. Both options will lead to a pretty similar outcome, with some minor dialogue differences, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
Not long after that, Peeves will appear and ask you to start a food fight.
If you chose to cooperate, you’ll throw some food at Merula. Otherwise, Peeves will do it instead. In both cases, her reaction is priceless.
It will initiate the food fight. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Only one star is needed to pass. Keep in mind there is a waiting time before the next task, so it is highly recommended to fully complete this one.
Some of the dialogue lines here are quite hilarious, so be sure to check them out.
Once the food fight is over, Peeves will explain the next part of his plan to you.
So, basically, you’ll need a suitable prank item. The best place to search for one is Zonko’s. However, there is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed.
When the waiting time is over, head to Zonko’s Joke shop to look for a prank item.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those in order to interact with them and see what they have to say.
Tonks and Tulip will mention the prank you pulled earlier in the courtyard.
Tonks will then ask if you’d prefer having others know of your deeds or not. This choice won’t affect the outcome, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.
Shortly after, you’ll get the task to search for the perfect prank. This task requires you to earn five stars within three hours with one star being needed to pass.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right in order to see all the available actions.
When you finish this one, you’ll decide to go with the Frog Spawn soap.
Next, you should head to the Prefects’ Bathroom to meet Bill.
Shortly after arriving, he’ll ask if you’re only pulling this prank to get the vault portrait from Peeves. You have two response options, each leading to a similar outcome.
He’ll leave after talking to you for a bit and you’ll throw some Frog Spawn soap in the bath.
Duncan and Peeves will then appear, eager to see how your prank plays out.
And as it turns out, the victim of your prank is none other than Charlie!
Observing the prank is a task which requires obtaining at least one out of five possible stars to pass.
There is 5 cost action tied to your character, so be sure to do it whenever it is available to save some energy.
When you are done, you’ll notice dozens of frogs appearing near Charlie. Needless to say, his reaction is quite hilarious.
Peeves will be quite pleased by this turn of events.
He’ll decide to reward you with the portrait. Sadly, it’s not quite the one you were expecting.
In order to get the vault portrait, you’ll need to do some grand mischief, something that will affect the entire school.
With that being said, the chapter will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
What kind of prank will you need to pull out in order to please Peeves and finally get him to give you the vault portrait? Find out in the next chapter of this magical adventure.
