Walkthrough
As usual, you can kick things off with the lessons. Head to the Charms classroom for your first lesson of the chapter.
Unlocking the Muffliato lesson requires earning nine stars from Charms classes. Pick the class duration most suitable to your playstyle and hit the Start button to begin.
As usual, prioritize bonus progress actions to save some energy and complete the classes faster.
Also, try and complete as many mini-tasks as possible to earn some additional Empathy points.
Return to the classroom once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson.
Learning the Muffliato Charm requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is somewhat recommended to have full energy before starting the task.
Simply treat this like any of the regular classes and you’ll be done before you know it.
During the lesson, Professor Flitwick will ask you a question about the Muffliato Charm.
Unlike most other lessons, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell once you earn four stars.
And upon earning the fifth star, Rowan will ask you another question about the Muffliato Charm.
Once you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
You will earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the Charms section of your Hogwarts Record.
Proceed to the Potions classroom to attend the second lesson of the chapter.
To unlock the Erumpent Potion lesson, you need to acquire a total of nine stars from Potions classes. Pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start when you’re ready to begin.
Like before, prioritize actions with bonus progress to save energy.
And try to do all of the mini-tasks for some extra Knowledge points.
After obtaining all nine stars, head back to the classroom to attend the lesson.
Learning to brew the Erumpent Potion requires earning five stars within three hours. All of the stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this lesson with an empty energy bar.
This is fairly similar to the previous classes, so you shouldn’t encounter any problems.
Once you earn all five stars, wave your wand over the cauldron to finish the potion.
Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
You’ll earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can collect it in the Potions section of your Hogwarts Record.
Now that you’re done with the lessons, proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures to meet your friends.
When you get there, you can interact with some of your friends by tapping on their speech bubbles.
Once the lesson begins, Professor Kettleburn will ask some creature-related questions. He’ll start with Barnaby.
Your friend will give a rather interesting answer.
Next, it’ll be your turn to answer a question. You have three options to respond with. The correct answer is “Offer each milk”, but there aren’t any House Points rewards, so even if you pick the wrong answer, it’s not the big deal.
Shortly after that, you’ll tell your friends you need to find a creature capable of creating a lot of chaos on school grounds.
Brainstorming creature ideas is your next task. It requires earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.
There are bonus progress actions tied to Charlie, Barnaby, and Liz. Focus on those actions if you want to save energy.
When you are done, you’ll witness some hilarious dialogue lines.
The dragon would probably be too much, so you’ll have to settle for something a bit less dangerous.
Apparently, Charlie really loves dragons.
And finally, you have all the components needed to create a mischief masterpiece.
Still, dueling a troll is going to be quite the challenge, so you’d better prepare yourself for it. Head to the Training Grounds to meet Diego and see if he’d be willing to practice with you.
Once you arrive, you can tap on the speech bubbles above some of your friends to see what they have to say to you.
After talking for a bit, you’ll tell Diego that he’ll get to keep his title of the best dueler at Hogwarts as long as he gives you some dueling lessons. He’ll be more than happy to agree to your proposition.
The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt.
At this point, your attributes will likely be above the recommended values, which will make things much easier.
When you defeat Diego, you’ll tell him your plan and he’ll be quite shocked to hear it.
He’ll ask if you know anything about Trolls.
You’ll realize that you don’t really know that much about those creatures, so you will decide to talk to Hagrid and learn more about them.
Go to Hagrid’s Hut when you are ready to continue.
After greeting Hagrid, you’ll tell him you need to learn more about Trolls. He’ll be excited to share this information with you, thinking you are studying for Kettleburn’s class.
You have two options to respond with. While both will lead to the same outcome, there are some dialogue differences. If you trust Hagrid, it is recommended to pick the second option.
Either way, he’ll agree to tell you all he knows about Trolls. This task requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.
There are actions with bonus progress linked to Hagrid and your character. Prioritizing these should save you some energy.
When you are done, Hagrid will tell you that most trolls like eating meat.
You’ll decide to visit Jae in the Kitchens and see if you can find some meat there.
Head to the Kitchens when you are ready to meet Jae.
Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of the house-elves and see what they have to say.
You’ll tell Jae that you need to collect enough meat to lure a Troll out of the Forbidden Forest. He’ll find your plan quite risky.
There is also a slight complication that could make your plan go south.
Thankfully, this is where Liz fits in. She took it up upon herself to lure the Troll out of the forest, and she’ll help you with collecting the meat.
Pitts will be surprised to see her in the Kitchens, especially given the fact she’s not supposed to be there. However, you’ll be quick to explain the situation.
Cleaning the Kitchens while Liz collects meat is your next task. To complete it, you’ll need to earn at least one out of five stars within eight hours.
As always, prioritize bonus progress actions to save energy.
When you are done, Pitts will be very pleased with your work. So pleased, in fact, that he’ll allow you to work with food again.
Now that you’ve got the means to lure the Troll out of the Forbidden Forest, you have to find someone who’ll help you take it down if it comes to that.
You can choose between Bill, Merula, and Diego. This choice will affect the next chapter, so be mindful of that when making this decision.
Proceed to the Great Hall to meet the person you chose.
Once you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.
After greeting your friend, you’ll explain why you need help.
Sadly, you’ll need to do some convincing before your friend is ready to assist you.
Recruiting your friend is fairly similar to the Meal With a Friend minigame. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost.
The attribute requirements are fairly low, which will make this task much easier. In general, pick the most supportive and reassuring options and you shouldn’t have any problem completing this. Below are the questions and answers for completing this task.
Bill:
- Why do you want me to go? – You’re an excellent dueller. (Empathy)
- What do you know about Trolls? – Hagrid taught me a lot. (Knowledge)
- Trolls are brutal and violent… – Together, we can subdue a Troll. (Courage)
- A Troll may not impress Peeves… – A Troll WILL impress Peeves. (Courage)

- Why do you want me to go? – You’re an excellent dueller. (Empathy)
- What do you know about Trolls? – Hagrid taught me a lot. (Knowledge)
- Trolls are strong and mean… – But you’re a very powerful witch! (Courage)

- Do you feel you’re prepared? – Yes! I’ve been practising duelling. (Knowledge)
- I’m just not sure about this… – I can’t do this without you, Merula. (Empathy)
Diego:
- Why do you want me to go? – You’re Hogwarts’ best dueller. (Empathy)
- What do you know about Trolls? – Hagrid taught me a lot. (Knowledge)
- Trolls are very unpredictable… – Together, we can subdue a Troll. (Courage)

- Do you feel you’re prepared? – Yes, I’ve practised with you. (Knowledge)
- Why are you even doing this? – To break the portrait curse. (Empathy)
When you are done, your friend will agree to help you duel a Troll.
Next, you should meet Andre at The Three Broomsticks. However, you need to wait three hours before this task is available.
Once you’re able to continue, head to Madam Rosmerta’s establishment to meet your friend.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say to you.
After greeting Andre, you’ll explain your plan to him, step by step.
Like many of your other friends, he’ll say that your plan is very dangerous.
After talking some more, he’ll tell you that you need a proper outfit to duel a troll. You have three options to respond with. If you like Andre, it is recommended to pick the second option.
You’ll then be tasked with changing your outfit.
This is when a new outfit will become available to you for 4000 coins, under the robes section. However, you don’t actually need to buy this new outfit. Changing into any of your existing outfits will do the trick as well.
Before you part ways, Andre will advise you to be careful since this time, all of Hogwarts may be in danger.
Shortly after, Chapter 25 of Year 5 will conclude. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience points.
Now that everything’s ready, you can finally pull off this chaotic spectacle and get the vault portrait. But will everything go according to plan? And will Peeves honor his end of the bargain? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery.
