Walkthrough

But first, let’s get the lessons out of the way. Head to the Herbology classroom when you are ready.

Unlocking the Gillyweed lesson requires earning a total of nine stars from the Herbology classes. Select the class duration that suits your playstyle and hit the Start button to begin.

year 5 chapter 26 1030

As always, focus on actions with bonus progress to save energy and earn the stars faster.

Also, try to complete as many of the mini-tasks as possible to earn some additional Empathy points.

year 5 chapter 26 1050

Once you earn all nine stars, return to the classroom to attend the lesson.

To complete the Gillyweed lesson, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. Avoid starting this lesson with an empty energy bar since all five stars are needed to pass.

year 5 chapter 26 1070

There aren’t many differences between this lesson and regular classes, so treat it as such and you should be fine.

Upon earning the fifth star, you’ll be tasked with fertilizing your plant. This is a fairly simple tracing task, which shouldn’t be hard to complete.

year 5 chapter 26 1100

Once you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You’ll earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the Herbology section of your Hogwarts Record.

year 5 chapter 26 1120

For your second lesson, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom.

To unlock the Densaugeo lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from the Defence Against the Dark Arts classes. Pick the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.

year 5 chapter 26 1140

In general, there are quite a few bonus progress actions available here, so be sure to prioritize them to save energy.

Try to successfully complete the mini-tasks to earn some additional Courage points.

year 5 chapter 26 1160

Head back to the classroom once you acquire enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Learning Densaugeo hex requires obtaining five stars within three hours. Since all of the stars are needed to pass, it is not recommended to start it if you are low on energy.

year 5 chapter 26 1180

Follow the same steps you did during the previous classes and you should be fine.

During the lesson, you’ll be asked a question about Densaugeo.

year 5 chapter 26 1200

Upon earning the fifth star, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

year 5 chapter 26 1210

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You’ll earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can collect it in the Defence Against the Dark Arts section of your Hogwarts Record.

year 5 chapter 26 1230

Now that you’ve completed the lessons, you can focus on the story. Head to the Prefects’ Bathroom when you are ready.

According to Duncan, Peeves is still upset, so you’ll have to say some nice things to get him to show up.

year 5 chapter 26 1250

To do that, you need to earn at least one out of five stars within three hours.

year 5 chapter 26 1260

There are bonus progress actions tied to Duncan and your character. Prioritize those to save energy.

year 5 chapter 26 1270

Once you are done, Peeves will show up, quite pleased with all the nice things you said about him.

He’ll ask you which part of the chaotic spectacle will impress him the most. You have three options to choose from. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

year 5 chapter 26 1300

When you are ready, proceed to the Great Hall to meet Tulip, Tonks, and Jae.

Once you get there, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

You’ll find three of your mischievous friends near the high table with a box full of jinxed ever-bashing boomerangs.

year 5 chapter 26 1330

Each of you will pick a boomerang and prepare for the upcoming chaos.

year 5 chapter 26 1340

Needless to say, most of the students will be caught off-guard by this.

year 5 chapter 26 1350

However, something’s not right. The boomerangs aren’t returning. Instead, they are flying all over the place.

You’ll tell your friends to avoid the boomerangs until Peeves show up.

Dodging the jinxed boomerangs is your next task. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. One star is needed to pass.

year 5 chapter 26 1380

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are actions with bonus progress linked to your character and the struggling Gryffindor student. Focus on those actions if you want to save energy.

year 5 chapter 26 1390

Once you are done, all of the students will run out of Great Hall. Peeves will be pretty pleased with the outcome of this prank.

year 5 chapter 26 1410

You’ll then need to cast the Freezing Charm to prevent one of the students from getting ever-bashed.

year 5 chapter 26 1420

Thankfully, the spell will work and the boomerang will freeze just before hitting the student.

year 5 chapter 26 1450

Proceed to the Training Grounds for the next part of the chaotic spectacle.

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends by tapping on their speech bubbles.

It seems that Liz successfully lured the troll to the Training Grounds.

year 5 chapter 26 1480

Thankfully, the friend you chose in the previous chapter will arrive just in time to help you subdue the troll.

year 5 chapter 26 1490

Peeves will be thrilled once he realizes you’re about to duel a troll.

The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost of each attempt.

year 5 chapter 26 1510

This duel is quite unique in a sense. Your friend will stand alongside you and mimic your every move. Whichever spell you decide to cast, your friend will cast as well, which will make things much more interesting. This won’t affect the gameplay, so it will play out pretty much the same as any other duel, but it is a nice touch of immersion, regardless.

As for the duel itself, an easy way to defeat the troll is to constantly go Aggressive and use Depulso on every turn.

year 5 chapter 26 1520

Once you manage to defeat the troll, you and your friend will strike him once more and knock him off his feet.

year 5 chapter 26 1540

The poltergeist will be quite pleased by your performance.

year 5 chapter 26 1560

Moments later, Hagrid will arrive, and he’ll be quite disappointed by your actions. The choice you made in the previous chapter will be referenced here, but it won’t significantly affect the story.

year 5 chapter 26 1570

You will have three options to respond with. If you care about Hagrid, you might want to consider apologizing to him.

year 5 chapter 26 1580

He’ll tell you to go before Dumbledore finds out about this.

Your friend will stay to help Hagrid while you proceed to perform the final part of the chaotic spectacle.

year 5 chapter 26 1600

Head to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to meet Badeea.

When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of your friends and see what they have to say.

Peeves will be quite impatient to see the final part of your mischievous masterpiece.

year 5 chapter 26 1630

It is best not to keep him waiting. Casting a Star Shower spell requires earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.

year 5 chapter 26 1640

Luckily, there are quite a few bonus progress actions available here, which will make things easier.

year 5 chapter 26 1650

Once you are done, Badeea and you will cast the spell together.

year 5 chapter 26 1670

The spell will work, and the stars will start raining inside the painting.

year 5 chapter 26 1680

But that’s not all. Shortly after, the stars will start falling all over the courtyard.

year 5 chapter 26 1690

However, the effects will be way more chaotic than you expected.

year 5 chapter 26 1700

Badeea will ask you what to do about it. You have three options to choose from. The following scene will be quite different depending on this choice, but the story, in general, will remain the same, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer. Perhaps the most interesting one would be to use Fizzing Whizzbees.

year 5 chapter 26 1710

Amazed by the spectacle you performed for him, Peeves will agree to give you the vault portrait.

There is a waiting period of five hours before you can proceed.

year 5 chapter 26 1730

Once the waiting time is over, head to the poltergeist’s room. It’s located in the East Towers.

This is likely the first time you’ll find yourself inside Peeves’ room. It will be in a state of complete chaos.

year 5 chapter 26 1750

Peeves will be slightly offended by your comment. You have two options to reply to this. Both will lead to the same outcome, so pick the one you prefer.

year 5 chapter 26 1770

Regardless of this choice, you’ll need to search the room to find the vault portrait. Doing this is a three-hour task with a passing requirement of one out of five stars.

year 5 chapter 26 1780

There is a bonus progress action tied to Peeves. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.

year 5 chapter 26 1790

Once you’re done, Peeves will present the vault portrait to you.

year 5 chapter 26 1800

Shortly after, you’ll need to report to detention. Head to the Kitchens when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you can interact with some of the House-Elves before proceeding to meet Jae.

You’ll tell him you got the vault portrait from Peeves. However, you still need to figure out how to use it.

year 5 chapter 26 1840

He’ll suggest talking about the portrait as you make sandwiches.

Brainstorming with Jae requires earning one out of five stars within three hours.

year 5 chapter 26 1860

As always, focus on the bonus progress actions to save energy.

year 5 chapter 26 1870

Once you finish making sandwiches, you’ll thank Jae for helping you earlier, without realizing that Filch is standing right behind you.

year 5 chapter 26 1880

He’ll be quite suspicious and he’ll ask if you are responsible for unleashing the Jinxed Ever-Bashing Boomerangs in the Great Hall.

You have three options to respond with. While this choice won’t have immediate consequences, you might want to avoid telling him the truth, so picking the second or the third option is highly recommended.

year 5 chapter 26 1890

Pitts will arrive just in the nick of time to save you from the caretaker.

year 5 chapter 26 1900
year 5 chapter 26 1920

Mr. Filch and Mrs. Norris will have no option but to leave the Kitchens.

Apparently, Pitts has a soft spot for you. Especially given the fact you did some extra work earlier.

year 5 chapter 26 1940

You’ll learn he is quite aware you’re planning to break the curse and free Beatrice.

year 5 chapter 26 1950

He’ll also tell you the good news. As of now, you’re officially done with detention.

year 5 chapter 26 1970

Shortly after that, Chapter 26 of Year 5 will end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience points.

Now that you’re finally done with detention, you can focus entirely on locating the cursed vault and breaking its curse. What will Madam Rakepick have to say about the portrait? Does she know how to use it to locate the vault? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!
