Chapter 27 – A new danger

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Seven of Year Five of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you finally performed the long-awaited mischief masterpiece.

It was so grandiose that Peeves was more than impressed and he awarded you with the Vault Portrait. And that’s not all. You served your last day at detention, so as of now, your detention days are over!

Walkthrough

As usual, you can focus on the lessons first. Head to the Charms classroom when you are ready.

To unlock the Confundus lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from Charms classes. Pick the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.

During these, prioritize actions with bonus progress to save some energy since those fill up more of the star meter per energy spent than the other actions.

Also, try doing all of the mini-tasks successfully to earn some extra Empathy points.

Head back to the classroom once you have all the necessary stars to unlock the lesson.

Learning the Confundus charm requires obtaining five stars within three hours. As with most lessons, all five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this lesson with an empty energy bar.

Other than the duration and the passing requirement, this lesson is pretty similar to the previous classes, so treat it as such.

When you earn the fifth star, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell on Rowan. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You will earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the Charms section of your Hogwarts Record.

For the second lesson, proceed to the Training Grounds.

To unlock Agility Course – Advanced Weaving lesson, you need to earn nine stars from Flying classes. Pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.

Unlike most other classes, you won’t get that many bonus progress actions here. Still, they’ll sometimes appear, so keep an eye out for them.

Thankfully, most of the mini-tasks are fairly easy, so you shouldn’t have much trouble with them.

After obtaining all nine stars, return to the Training Grounds to attend the lesson.

To pass the Agility Course – Advanced Weaving, you need to acquire five stars within eight hours. 

Like before, prioritize bonus progress actions whenever they are available.

Upon earning all five stars, you’ll be tasked with demonstrating the Advanced Weaving technique. Trace your broom’s flight path to perform this maneuver.

If you are successful, you’ll be rewarded with an exciting flight scene!

And that’s not all. Completing this lesson will reward you with +1 Energy Limit, which means that from now on, your maximum energy will be 41 (or 42 if you played since beta).

You’ll earn an extra reward for completing the lesson. Collect it in the Flying section of your Hogwarts Record.

Now that you’re done with the lessons, proceed to the Grand Staircase to advance the story.

Once you get there, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends and see what they have to say.

Professor Rakepick will arrive and congratulate you on acquiring the vault portrait. She’ll also say that she’ll make sure you aren’t punished, so you don’t need to worry about that.

After inspecting the portrait, she’ll suggest that you try your best to prepare for dragons.

Shortly after, you’ll get to question her about the dragons. Doing so requires earning at least one out of five stars within an hour.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and Madam Rakepick. Prioritizing those should save you some energy.

Once you are done, Madam Rakepick will tell you to come to her classroom after preparing for dragons. Apparently, she’s planning to teach you a new spell that can come in handy when facing a dragon.

Shortly after she leaves, Sir Cadogan will advise you to seek Charlie since he is quite knowledgeable about dragons.

You’ll then get to choose a place to meet your friend. You can pick between the Library and The Three Broomsticks.

This will change the next task, but the general outcome should still be the same. Feel free to select the place you prefer since the requirements for the next task are quite similar in either case.

Once you’ve made up your mind, head to the place of your choosing to meet Charlie. The following section will feature the Library path, but the one for the Three Broomsticks is not too different so you can use the same guidelines for it.

Once you get there, you can interact with some of the characters before proceeding to meet your friend.

Charlie will be quite thrilled to talk about dragons since not many other students like listening to his stories about these creatures.

Talking about dragons is your next task. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Passing, on the other hand, only requires one star.

It is recommended to fully complete this task as soon as possible since there is a waiting period afterward. As always, prioritize actions with bonus progress to save energy.

When you are done, Charlie will give you a useful piece of advice.

He’ll also tell you that Professor Binns knows quite a lot about dragons.

It appears that Ben overheard your conversation with Charlie, and he’ll be shocked to hear that you’re preparing to face a dragon.

He’ll tell you that recent events inspired him to become braver. The next part of the conversation will be different, depending on the place you’re at. If you are in the Library, he’ll tell you he read the book about wild Nifflers, and if you are in Madam Rosmerta’s establishment, he’ll talk about Emily Tyler.

In both cases, you’ll get the option to either tease or encourage him. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, but if you care about Ben, it is recommended to encourage him.

Shortly after that, you’ll get the task to ask Professor Binns about dragons. However, there is a waiting period of five hours before you can proceed.

Once the waiting time is over, head to the History of Magic classroom to meet your fellow apprentice curse-breakers.

Upon arriving, Merula will be curious to know why Madam Rakepick didn’t inform Bill and her about the dragons. You have three response options. This choice won’t impact the story in any significant way, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Merula will, however, cheer up once she hears that Rakepick is planning to teach you the new spell.

You’ll then tell Professor Binns you need to learn more about dragons.

This is your next task. Completing it requires obtaining five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to your character and Professor Binns. Focus on those actions to save energy.

When you finish the task, Professor Binns will tell you some important facts about the eggs of the Chinese Fireball.

Not long after that, you’ll get the task to visit Hagrid and seek some practical advice about dragons. Proceed to his hut when you are ready.

Once you arrive, Hagrid will tell you that he isn’t mad at you anymore for dueling a troll on the school grounds.

If you completed Hagrid’s Birthday adventure, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

He will be quite shocked once he hears you are planning on facing a dragon.

If you finished Take the O.W.L.s adventure, Hagrid will mention it as well.

Eventually, he’ll agree to help you prepare for dragons. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. One star is required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Hagrid and your character. Prioritizing those actions should save you some energy.

When you complete the task, Hagrid will tell you an interesting fact about Hungarian Horntails.

Shortly after that, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom for your next task.

If you completed Take the O.W.L.s adventure, Madam Rakepick will congratulate both Merula and you.

Bill will mention the chaos you had to go through to obtain the vault portrait. You have two options to comment on this, but this choice won’t influence the outcome of the story, so pick whichever option you prefer.

Shortly after that, you’ll get to learn Conjunctivitis Curse. This requires earning at least one out of five stars within eight hours.

Focus on the actions tied to Madam Rakepick since the only bonus progress action here is tied to her.

Once you are done, you’ll need to demonstrate this curse on the training dummy. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

Madam Rakepick will tell you to seek Professor Kettleburn since he’s one of the few people at Hogwarts who actually encountered a dragon before.

For the next task, proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready.

Shortly after you arrive, you’ll learn that Merula is quite fond of Puffskeins.

You’ll then tell Professor Kettleburn the reason why you came.

Discussing dragons requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass

There is a bonus progress action tied to Professor Kettleburn. Focus on it if you want to save a bit of energy.

After you are done, the Professor will start asking you dragon-related questions. The answers to each of these were hinted at during the previous tasks. The correct answer to the first question is Peruvian Vipertooth.

The answer to the second question is Chinese Fireball.

The correct answer to the third question is “up to fifty feet”.

If you answered all the answers correctly, you’ll be awarded ten house points.

Shortly after, Chapter 27 of Year 5 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience points.
