Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to Chapter Three of Year Five of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you met Bill and Merula at the Three Broomsticks to discuss the past events and talk about the things that happened. After talking for a while, Penny showed up to inform you that her little sister is missing. You immediately offered to help and went to search for her in the Forbidden Forest alongside one of your friends. Sadly, your efforts didn’t show any results since Beatrice simply was nowhere in the forest. Later on, you found Penny in the classroom, brewing a special potion that could help her locate Bea. Sadly, it didn’t work and she got really frustrated over it. Thankfully, Merula arrived with the good news. She found Beatrice in the Grand Staircase, trapped in one of the portraits. Madam Rakepick told you that this is most likely caused by another curse. Apparently, someone was meddling with another vault and has unleashed this disaster upon Hogwarts. The only way to save Penny’s sister and everyone else is to find the next vault and break its curse. This, however, won’t be an easy task, but if anyone is up for the task, it’s you.
Now you can start the chapter by doing the lessons part. Hit the GO button and proceed to the History of Magic Classroom.
This is likely the first time you’ll find yourself there.
You’ll be able to interact with some of the characters. Simply tap on the speech bubbles above them to do so.
After a lengthy introduction, the class will begin. Learning the lesson about Medieval Assembly of European Wizards is an eight-hour task requiring you to earn five stars to pass.
There isn’t much of a difference between this one and all the other lessons you’ve had so far. For the most part, tap on the glowing objects to complete actions and fill up the star meter.
Eventually, this will earn you stars. Each time you obtain one, you’ll be given a mini-task which will grant you ten Knowledge points upon a successful completion.
When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
The second lesson of the chapter is the Defence Against the Dark Arts. Proceed to the Classroom once you are ready.
Unlocking Impedimenta Lesson requires you to earn a total of nine stars from the Defence Against the Dark Arts Class. As usual, you can do this in a number of ways. Two of the popular combinations include doing two of the eight-hour or three of the three-hour classes. When you are ready, hit the Start button to begin.
If you are looking to optimize the energy usage, try completing actions with the high cost whenever they are available.
And pay attention to the mini-tasks in order to earn some additional Courage points.
When you are done, the lesson will be unlocked, so head back to the classroom to attend it.
To learn the Impediment Jinx, you need to acquire five stars within three hours. Since all of those are needed to pass, it is recommended to have full energy before starting the lesson.
Do this one just like the previous lessons and you won’t have any trouble with it.
When you are done, you’ll be tasked with casting Impedimenta on Ismelda. Trace the wand movement on the screen to perform this spell.
This spell is also usable in duels. You can use it in the Sneaky Stance. While it doesn’t do any damage, it will stun the opponent for two rounds which can be extremely powerful in some situations. Hit the Collect button to get your rewards and continue.
Now that the lessons are out of the way, you can focus on the story tasks. Proceed to the Kitchens when you are ready.
Upon arriving you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.
You’ll then report to Pitts, the House Elf in charge of the Kitchens.
He’ll explain what you need to do while serving detention and shortly after, you’ll get the task for it. Completing it requires obtaining five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass, which makes the difficulty of it almost trivial.
You’ll need about thirty energy, more or less, to finish this task.
Once the work is done, you’ll meet Jae Kim, the Fifth-Year Gryffindor who often finds himself in detention for breaking various school rules.
You’ll learn that he is smuggling all sorts of forbidden items into Hogwarts. This is good to know since you might need his help someday.
As a sign of good faith, he’ll offer to get you one item completely free of charge. You have three items to choose from.
Afterward, you’ll get the task to Meet Jae in the Library. However, there is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. Either wait for a while or use some gems if you want to speed things up.
Once the waiting time is over, head to the Library.
As usual, upon arriving, you’ll notice that some characters have speech bubbles above them. Tap on those to find out what they have to say.
After that, you’ll introduce Jae to your other friends.
What follows is a funny conversation and then you’ll get the task to study. You have three hours to complete it and earn at least one of five possible stars.
Sadly, there aren’t many high-cost actions here, so you can expect to spend 55-60 energy to complete this task.
Once you are done, you’ll come to the conclusion that the magic used to trap Beatrice is most likely some sort of Extension Charm.
And who better to ask about Charms then Professor Flitwick. Hit the GO button and proceed to the classroom when you are ready.
Immediately upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those to see what they have to say to you.
You’ll propose your theory to Professor Flitwick who will find it quite interesting. Shortly after, the class will begin. To complete it, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.
Despite this being a Charms Class, it behaves like a story task, so you won’t be getting any rewards or mini-tasks upon earning each of the stars.
When the class ends, the Professor will tell you that he suspects something far more complicated caused poor Beatrice to become trapped inside the portrait.
Because of this, he’ll suggest that you speak with Nearly Headless Nick. He might have some valuable information that could help with this entire situation.
You’ll have to wait three hours until you can move on to the next task. If you are really impatient, you can spend some gems to remove the waiting time.
Either way, once you are able to proceed, go to the Grand Staircase to meet Nick.
When you get there, you’ll be able to interact with certain characters by tapping on their speech bubbles.
By the looks of it, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened.
Discussing this matter is your next task. You have eight hours to complete it, during which you have to obtain at least one out of five stars.
Almost all of the actions have low cost except for the ones tied to Nick, so focus on those whenever they are available in order to save some energy. In total, you’ll need close to one hundred energy to complete this task.
When you are done, you’ll deduce that the Dark Wizard who attacked you is more than likely connected to these events.
You’ll then ask Nick who is best to talk about these portraits and he’ll recommend that you talk to Badeea Ali, Fifth-Year Ravenclaw of an incredible talent.
After this, the Chapter will end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. This will also add Jae to your list of friends.
This investigation is getting interesting. Will this Badeea Ali be able to help you? Is she really as gifted as Nick says? Find out in the next Chapter of this adventure!
Thank you for reading. Until next time.
