Chapter 32 – The trouble with Ben

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Thirty-Two of Year Five of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you and the rest of your curse-breaking friends returned to Hogwarts after a rather eventful adventure in the Portrait Vault.

After reporting everything to the Headmaster, you learned that the Portrait Curse got broken and all of the trapped students, including Penny’s sister Beatrice, are now free.

Also, Merula is recovering from the effects of the Cruciatus Curse, and soon enough, she’ll be good as new. Speaking of new, you can start this chapter by getting the lessons out of the way.

Walkthrough

Proceed to the History of Magic classroom when you are ready.

To unlock the International Warlock Convention of 1289 lesson, you need to earn nine stars from History of Magic classes. Pick the class duration that suits you and hit the Start button to begin.

Luckily, there are plenty of bonus progress actions available here, which should save you some energy.

Also, do your best to complete all of the mini-tasks successfully in order to earn some additional Knowledge points.

Return to the classroom once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Learning about the International Warlock Convention of 1289 requires obtaining five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Like before, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever you can. And try answering all of the questions correctly to earn some bonus Knowledge points.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You’ll earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the History of Magic section of your Hogwarts Record.

Head to the Potions classroom for the next lesson.

To unlock the Everlasting Elixirs lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from Potions classes. As always, pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.

Similar to History of Magic, Potions classes also have a decent number of bonus progress actions.

As for the mini-tasks, try your best to do them all successfully.

Return to the classroom once you earn all the necessary stars to unlock the lesson.

In order to learn to brew Everlasting Elixirs, you need to obtain five stars within three hours.

This lesson is fairly similar to the regular Potions classes you took earlier, so simply treat it as such.

During the lesson, Professor Snape will ask you a question about Everlasting Elixirs.

Once you earn the fifth star, you’ll need to wave your wand over the cauldron to finish the potion.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You’ll earn an extra reward for completing the lesson. Collect it in the Potions section of your Hogwarts Record.

Now that you’re done with the lessons, you can continue the story. Head to the Artefact Room to meet Ben.

As it turns out, ever since Madam Rakepick left, her Niffler’s been missing.

Ben will ask if you are concerned about Sickleworth’s wellbeing. You have three options to choose from.

While the dialogue may differ slightly, all these choices will lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer. However, if you care about Ben, you might want to consider picking the third option.

Shortly after, the two of you will decide to look around for some shiny things to lure Sickleworth with. To do so, you need to earn at least one out of five stars within three hours.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and the nearby cabinet. Prioritize them to save energy.

After you finish collecting shiny objects, Ben will ask you to tell him who is the most knowledgeable when it comes to magical creatures. You have two options to choose from. Both options will lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick either one.

Interestingly enough, whoever you choose, Ben will mention the other one, so in the end, he’ll suggest talking to both of them.

Proceed to Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll witness a very cute scene.

After talking to Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn for a bit, they’ll ask you to help them with sorting these cuddly creatures.

To do that, you need to earn at least one out of five stars within eight hours.

This is probably one of the most adorable tasks in the entire game! Other than that, there are bonus progress actions tied to Professor Kettleburn and Puffskeins.

Once you are done, Ben will decide to look elsewhere for Sickleworth.

Unfortunately, there’s a waiting period of three hours before you’re able to follow him.

Once you are able to continue, proceed to the Red Cap’s Hole to meet Ben.

Shortly after getting there, Ben will ask if you are scared. You have three response options, but regardless of your choice, the outcome will pretty much be the same, with just a few minor differences.

You’ll then get to look for Sickleworth. Doing so requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and the small box, so prioritize doing those if you want to save some energy.

Once you finish the task, Red Cap will arrive and he won’t be happy seeing you and Ben rummaging through his stuff.

Your friend will be quick to take action, and he’ll swiftly blast the Red Cap with the Knockback Jinx.

Moments later, Sickleworth will show up carrying a shiny object.

You’ll wonder if that key has something to do with the final vault. After all, you did find the Merperson Trident in the buried vault.

Now that you found the Niffler, you can finally talk to Ben about everything that happened. Proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn to meet him.

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters by tapping on their speech bubbles.

As it turns out, Ben doesn’t want to discuss anything related to Cursed Vaults.

You’ll tell him that you’re worried about him. Ever since he returned to Hogwarts, Ben wasn’t his usual self.

Before you get the chance to talk to him about it, he’ll tell you that Sickleworth is missing again.

So, the two of you will decide to look for him. In order to do that, you need to earn five stars within an hour. One star is required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Ben and Sickleworth. Focus on those actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

When you are done, you’ll get the Niffler back.

And Ben will finally open up. He’ll be mad at Rakepick for leaving things behind and getting away with it.

He’ll mention that she left Jacob, Sickleworth, and everyone that was inside the vault.

He’ll tell you that he’s no longer afraid of anything. In fact, he’s feeling Invincible.

After seeing your reaction, he’ll be curious to know if you believe him or not. You have two response options. While both of these will lead to the same outcome, it is somewhat recommended to go with the first one, especially if you care about Ben.

He’ll then vow to become a new person. He will say that no one is going to take advantage of him or hurt his friends ever again.

Shortly after that, Charlie will arrive to tell you it’s time to say goodbye to Bill.

And that will conclude Chapter 32 of Year 5. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience points.
