Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, it’s time for Chapter Four of Year Five of our Magical Journey Walkthrough for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you attended the first History of Magic lesson of Year Five under the tutelage of Professor Binns. Later on, you went to serve the detention in the Kitchen where you first met Pitts – a House Elf in charge. While you were there, you met and instantly befriended the Fifth-Year Gryffindor named Jae Kim. He likes to smuggle all sorts of banned items into Hogwarts, which is the reason for him being in detention most of the time. After telling him the situation with Penny’s sister, he immediately offered to help. The two of you went to the library where you met some of your other friends to research Beatrice’s condition. Later on, you asked Professor Flitwick for help and found out that it is probably the best you talk to Nearly-headless Nick and seek his advice. Nick told you that you should consult the resident portrait painter, a Fifth-Year Ravenclaw student called Badeea Ali. She is apparently very gifted when it comes to art and hopefully, she’ll be willing to help you.
Now to start things off, you can do the lessons part of the Chapter. Hit the Go button and proceed to the Herbology Classroom once you’re ready.
To unlock Belladonna Lesson, you have to earn a total of nine stars from the Herbology Class. There are numerous combinations of classes you can take to achieve this. Two of the popular ones are doing the eight-hour class two times or three-hour class three times. As a general rule, always pick the classes that suit your playstyle the most.
As for the classes, simply do them in a standard manner. Tap on the glowing objects to complete actions and fill up the star meter which will, in turn, grant you stars.
After earning each star, focus on completing the mini-task to earn some additional Empathy points.
Once you earn enough stars, the lesson will be unlocked.
When you are ready, head back to the classroom to attend it.
To pass the Belladonna Lesson, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. All of the stars are required to pass, so having the full energy bar prior to start is highly recommended.
Simply treat this in a similar way to the classes you previously took and you’ll be done before you know it.
Once you’re done with this one, it’s time for the second lesson of the chapter. Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready.
Unlocking the Reversing Lesson requires you to earn nice stars from the Flying Class.
In most cases, the flying classes don’t have many high-cost actions, so you’ll probably need a bit more energy compared to the other ones. Whenever you get some of the actions with the high cost, focus on doing it to save some energy.
Also, try your best to succeed at all of the mini-tasks since they’ll net you a hefty amount of Courage points.
When you earn all nine stars, head back to the Training Grounds to attend the lesson.
To learn the Reversing, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. Overall, this shouldn’t prove to be too difficult as long as you don’t start with an empty energy bar.
While doing this, you’ll be able to see some interesting new character lines after completing the actions, so be sure to check them out.
After you get all five stars, you’ll be tasked with demonstrating the Reversing maneuver. Trace the path on the screen to perform this correctly.
Congratulations! You’ve just increased your energy limit by one. This will definitely help with your future classes and adventures.
Now that the lessons are done, you can proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet Badeea Ali.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech-bubbles above some of the students. Tap on those in order to interact with them.
Unlike most of the other students, Badeea doesn’t recognize you. Most of the time she’s too busy with the art to pay attention to anything else going around.
You’ll then get to see a small sample of her art skills.
She’ll tell you that she’s been painting a portrait of Beatrice trapped in another portrait. After talking some more, you’ll get the task to discuss portraits with her. You have one hour to complete this task and earn at least one out of five stars.
As long as you started this with full energy, you’ll easily be able to complete it in one go.
Shortly after you’re done, you’ll realize that it’s time for your detention. Hit the GO button and proceed to the Kitchens to meet Jae.
As you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the House-Elves and see what they have to say by tapping on their speech bubbles.
Afterward, you’ll tell Jae about your encounter with Badeea. He’ll tell you that she is perhaps one of the brightest students in Hogwarts. Apparently, she even invented some of her own spells.
Right after that, the task window will open. Serving detention is a three-hour task with a passing requirement of one out of five stars.
Altogether, you’ll need about 55-60 energy to complete this task, depending on the actions you take. This equates to around one and a half energy bar, which should easily be doable within the time limit.
Once you are done, Pitts will feel quite uncomfortable about your sudden happiness. Apparently, Badeea’s advice seems to be working.
Shortly after, you’ll be released from detention. For the next task, you need to meet Merula and discuss the situation. Sadly, there is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. If you don’t feel like waiting, you can spend some gems to speed things up.
Either way, once you are able to continue, head to the Three Broomsticks to meet her.
As you enter Madam Rosmerta’s establishment, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above her and some other characters. Tap on those to see what they have to say.
Merula will be quite surprised to see you seeking her aid. You can answer to her in three different ways. All of the options will lead to the same outcome, but there are some very interesting lines of dialogue for all of Merula’s fans if you select the third choice.
Shortly after, you’ll get the task to recruit Merula for your cause. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the gold cost.
This is perhaps, by far the easiest task you’ll ever get. Simply boast her ego by telling her that she is best at everything and you’ll complete this quickly and easily. For the sake of fun, we’ll list some of the questions and answers to them in the pictures below.
When you are done, you’ll have one of the rare opportunities to see Merula smiling. And not just her usual evil grin, this is a genuine smile of pure happiness.
In the end, she’ll agree to help you. The plan is rather simple – your assignment will be to find the Marauder’s Map while Merula keeps following the path she was on.
Your next task involves talking to Filch about the map. Hit the GO button and proceed to meet Jae in the Great Hall.
Once you arrive, you’ll notice that certain characters have something to tell you. Tap on the speech bubbles above them to see what they have to say.
Jae will tell you that he smuggled some box into the Great Hall. Apparently, it is something for the caretaker, so all you have to do is find the right moment to place it on the table.
This exactly is your next task. You have three hours to find the right moment to place the box on the table. In other words – you need to get at least one star to pass.
Make sure to pay attention to some of the character lines while doing this since some are really interesting.
Once you are done, the box will be successfully placed on top of the table. The caretaker will instantly notice it, but he is reluctant to open it again.
However, after thinking it over, he’ll decide to check it out and see what’s in the box. And much to his surprise, this time he’s actually got a lovely cake.
You’ll use this opportunity and ask him about Marauder’s Map. He’ll tell you that someone stole it from his office and he thinks it was Peeves.
So, you’ll have to look for Poltergeist. Sadly, there is the waiting time of three hours before you can proceed.
When you are able to continue, head to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom to meet Jae.
As you arrive, he’ll ask you how will you attract Peeves’ attention. You have three options to choose from. Each of those will work, the only difference is the approach.
Shortly after, he’ll appear and ask why did you call him. You’ll explain that you need the Marauder’s Map, but he’ll be hesitant to give it to you. You have three options to respond with. The second one requires level two friendship with Jae, but since all of those lead to the same outcome, you can freely pick any of them.
Peeves won’t be sure if he has the map or not, so you’ll need to detailly explain to him what it looks like. This is a three-hour task with a completion requirement of five stars. Passing, however, only requires a single star.
You should easily be able to obtain all five stars with around 55 energy or so. Just focus on the high-cost actions when they are available and you’ll be done in no time.
After you complete this, Peeves will remember that one of his friends told him not to give you the map.
Apparently, whoever his friend is, he hates potions a lot, so perhaps Professor Snape knows something that could help you.
When you get to the classroom, you’ll be able to interact with some of the Slytherins and see what they have to say.
Before you had the chance to explain the situation to Snape, he’ll cut you short as the class is about to start. To complete it, you need to get at least one out of five possible stars within three hours.
Even though this is a class, it behaves just like any of the regular story tasks, so you should treat it as such. There aren’t many actions with the high cost, so you can expect spending close to sixty energy to complete it.
After the class, you’ll discover that Snape isn’t really fond of Marauders. However, he will tell you some shocking information about Penny.
With this, the class will end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. This will also add Badeea to your list of friends.
Now that’s an interesting turn of events. What is Penny up to? Did she really sink deep into depression? Perhaps there is something you can do to help her. Find out in the next chapter of this amazing adventure!
