Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Crushed Side Quest of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This quest becomes available during Year Five of your Hogwarts Studies. During it, you’ll discover a rather shocking secret that Ismelda kept from everyone for years, and you’ll even get the chance to help her. Let’s dive right into the quest and see what it’s all about.

Walkthrough
Hit the GO button and proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice there’s quite a commotion in the courtyard. You can tap on the speech bubbles above some of the characters to interact with them and see what they have to say.
After that, Penny will tell you that something has drawn a large crowd. She’ll be curious to find out what’s happening.
Asking around is an hour-long task with a passing requirement of one star.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. Prioritize doing the bonus progress actions to save energy.
Once you are done, you’ll find out that Ismelda accidentally bumped into Emily Tyler, and after refusing to apologize, Emily took Ismelda’s diary and decided to read it aloud.
Once she reads a couple of sentences from the diary, you’ll realize that Ismelda is in love with Barnaby.
After a bit, you’ll get to choose to intervene and help Ismelda or do nothing and observe the situation. The scene will play out quite differently, depending on your choice. If you like Ismelda, it is recommended to go with the first option.
Afterward, Ismelda will run off and tell you to leave her alone.
There is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. Since this side quest is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.
Once the waiting time is over, head to the Great Hall to meet Ismelda. As you enter, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say to you.
If you’ve decided to intervene and help Ismelda, she will thank you (or at least try to) for it.
You’ll then learn the reason why she asked you to meet her in the Great Hall. Apparently, she is desperate about something and needs your help.
To reassure her, you’ll need to earn three diamonds in six turns. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of the task.
This works pretty similar to Meal With a Friend. Simply pick the options that will make Ismelda feel better and you should be able to complete it fairly easily. The attribute requirements are pretty low, so it shouldn’t be too hard to complete this task in six turns. Below are questions and answers to them.

She will feel a bit better once you are done, but will still be curious about why you want to help her. You have three response options. Each of those will lead to the same outcome, so pick the one you like the most.
You’ll then get to choose a friend to help Ismelda prepare for a talk with Barnaby. You can choose between Penny, Andre, and Liz. Penny and Andre are locked behind friendship levels ten and five respectively, while Liz is selectable regardless of your friendship level with her. Your next part of the quest will be quite different, depending on the friend you pick, but ultimately, the ending outcome won’t be affected by this choice.
The next task involves heading to the History of Magic Classroom to meet Ismelda and the friend you chose.
Once you get there, you will thank your friend for agreeing to help.
After talking for a while, you’ll get the task to help Ismelda. To do that, you need to earn at least one out of five stars within three hours.
There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it to save a bit of energy.
Shortly after you’re done, Ismelda will tell you to meet with her at the Training Grounds.
Go there when you are ready to continue.
Upon arriving, Ismelda will tell you that she wants to thank you by teaching you one of her favorite spells.
The spell in question is the Curse of Bogies. To learn it, you’ll need to obtain five stars within three hours. Only one star is required to pass.
There is a bonus progress action linked to Ismelda. Focus on it to save some energy.
When you are done, Ismelda will ask you to cast the spell on her. Trace the wand movement on the screen to perform the Curse of Boogies.
Shortly after, she’ll decide to confess to Barnaby. You’ll offer to go with her, which will make her question your reasons. You have three options to respond with. Each of those will lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
Head to the Care of Magical Creatures to observe Ismelda’s confession when you are ready.
Shortly after you get there, she will tell you that she really likes Barnaby. You can react to this in three ways. If you want to be supportive, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you like Barnaby, you should go with the third choice. Otherwise, feel free to pick whichever option you want.
Observing Ismelda and Barnaby requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.
There are two bonus progress actions tied to Ismelda. Prioritize her actions to save energy.
When you are done, Ismelda will tell Barnaby she likes him.
He’ll be slightly confused after hearing that.
Ismelda will try to express her feelings, but unfortunately, Barnaby will completely misunderstand her.
In the end, she will give up and leave the place.
You will need to wait three hours before you can continue. Once again, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.
Head to the Grand Staircase once the waiting time is over.
Penny will wait for you there, and you’ll decide to spy on Ismelda and see what she’s up to.
To do that, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Jae, Ismelda, and Penny. Focus on those to save energy.
After you’re done, you’ll find out that Ismelda bought a sandwich with a love potion in it. Apparently, she’s planning to use it on Barnaby.
Penny and you will approach her and you will get the chance to advise her. This is an important choice. If you care about Barnaby, you should select the second option. Otherwise, you can go with the first one.
Ismelda will follow your advice, which will result in a scene that plays out quite differently depending on your choice.
Shortly after, you’ll get the next task. Go to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom when you are ready.
Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your classmates by tapping on their speech bubbles.
By the looks of it, you’ll have to sit through the class before you can talk to Ismelda. This requires earning at least one out of five stars within eight hours.
There is an action with bonus progress tied to Ismelda. Prioritize it to save some energy.
Once the class is over, Ismelda will tell you that she and Barnaby decided to stay friends.
After talking for a bit, she’ll ask if you have feelings for Barnaby. You have three options to respond with. If you are romantically interested in Barnaby, you should pick the first option. Otherwise, feel free to go with other choices.
You’ll then learn that Ismelda doesn’t actually hate you, but she hates who you remind her of – her older sister.
You can react to this in two ways. If you like Ismelda, it is recommended to pick the first option.
Lastly, she will give you a smile and long-awaited thanks.
With this, Crushed Side Quest will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 50 Knowledge Points, 8 Gems, and 2000 Experience Points.
That was quite an interesting quest. You found some new things about Ismelda, which all in all was a nice revelation. It is likely that the events of this quest will have some influence on the future plot.
