Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Poor Sport Side Quest of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. This quest is available for students of Year 5 and above. During it, you’ll help Andre recover from an injury and you’ll also assist him with another problem.

What’s really special about this quest is that your choices will heavily influence its ending. Don’t worry, all of the important choices will be mentioned in the Walkthrough, which should help you decide which outcome of this quest you want to go for. Once you start it, head to the Grand Staircase to meet Andre.

Walkthrough

You’ll notice that your friend is in a lot of pain for some reason.

Apparently, one of the students, Brennnan Doyle, is responsible for his injury.

You’ll then get to listen to Andre and learn what happened to him. This requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is required to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character, so prioritize it to save some energy. Also, it is recommended to fully complete this task since there’s a waiting period afterward.

According to Andre, a student named Brennan Doyle sabotaged him in order to take Andre’s starting position on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

Apparently, Andre is suffering the effects of the Conjunctivitis Curse.

Since then, Andre’s eyes have been swollen and he is practically blind. But that’s not the only injury he sustained when he was sabotaged.

You’ll tell him to go to the Hospital Wing immediately, but he will strongly object since that will make him miss the next Quidditch match. You have three options to respond with. This choice won’t influence the outcome of the quest, so feel free to take your pick.

Andre will tell you that he can’t miss the match, but he won’t tell you the reason why. In the end, you’ll decide to help him and talk to Madam Pomfrey about the cure for Conjunctivitis Curse.

Before you can proceed any further, you’ll need to reach relationship level 10 with Andre.

Once you fulfill that requirement, you’ll have to wait three hours until the next task is available. Since this quest is not time-limited, it is recommended to simply wait until the timer expires.

After the waiting time is over, proceed to the Hospital Wing.

When you get there, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students before continuing (be sure to check Barnaby, his line is hilarious).

You’ll ask Madam Pomfrey to teach you how to cure the Conjunctivitis Curse.

She’ll be curious to know why you want to learn it. There are three options to choose from. Bear in mind that the outcome of the quest WILL BE DETERMINED by this and one more choice. If you want Andre to attend the next Quidditch match, DO NOT tell Madam Pomfrey that someone needs healing. It is recommended to pick the second or the third option ideally if you want to help your friend.

Shortly after, Madam Pomfrey will agree to teach you the Oculus Potion. This requires earning five stars within eight hours. One star is needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Madam Pomfrey and your character, so prioritize those in order to save some energy.

Once you’re done, you’ll learn that the Oculus Potion is likely what Andre needs to restore his eyesight.

Sadly, Madam Pomfrey will be too busy to teach you how to brew it, so you’ll have to seek someone else’s help. Luckily, you know someone who could help you with that.

Before you can continue, there is a waiting period of four hours. Like before, it is recommended to wait until this timer expires.

Once the waiting time is over, head to the Artefact Room to meet your friends.

Penny will be shocked once she sees Andre’s condition.

You’ll quickly explain why you need her help. As expected, Penny will be more than happy to help.

She’ll also mention something about Andre’s grandmother.

However, he’ll quickly interrupt her before she tells you more. You can press the matter or change the subject. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Shortly after that, you’ll start brewing an Oculus Potion. To do that, you need to acquire five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

The only bonus progress action here is tied to your character, so focus on that one if you are looking to save some energy.

Once you finish the task, Andre will chug the potion bottoms up.

And apparently, it will work since he’ll immediately comment on your outfit choice.

He’ll then genuinely thank both you and Penny for curing him.

He’ll also say that he may need your help for one more thing. Proceed to the History of Magic classroom for the next task.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

Andre will tell you that he needs your help again.

Sadly, before he can explain more, Professor Binns will interrupt both of you.

You’ll have to wait until the class is over before you can talk to Andre.

Attending the History of Magic class requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character, so complete it whenever you can to save some energy.

Once the class is over, you’ll learn that Andre wants to get revenge on Brennan Doyle.

He’ll ask you to advise him and there are three ways to do it. This choice is VERY IMPORTANT! It will determine what happens in the next part of the quest as well as the ending outcome. If you want Andre to participate in the next Quidditch match, DO NOT PICK THE FIRST OPTION! If you did not tell Madam Pomfrey that a student got injured by the Conjunctivitis Curse and if you decide not to confront Brennan Doyle, Andre will get to play in the starting lineup.

However, if you decide to get revenge, Brennan will get injured, so that’s also worth considering. Thankfully, his injury will not be too severe, but if you want to make things right, the best course of action would be to report him to Madam Hooch. Still, it’s up to you to decide, so pick the option you find the most appropriate.

The following part of the Walkthrough will feature reporting Brennan Doyle to Madam Hooch. But don’t worry. The important things about the other two parts will also be mentioned here.

Whichever option you go with, you’ll need to head to the Training Grounds. However, there’s a waiting period of three hours before you can continue.

Proceed to the Training Grounds once the waiting time is over.

If you went with confronting Brennan, you’ll meet him here and talk about what happened. Sadly, he’ll refuse to apologize, so you’ll decide to try and explain things to him. If you decided to get revenge, you’ll distract him while Andre hexes his broom. And if you decided to report him to Madam Hooch, you’ll need to explain to her what happened. All of these tasks require earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.

As always, prioritize the actions with bonus progress to save energy.

Once you are done, Brennan Doyle will get angry and attack Andre if you decided to confront him. If you reported him to Madam Hooch, she’ll say that she wants to hear his side of the story. Lastly, if you went with getting revenge, Andre will tell you that he hexed his broom while you were distracting him.

Either way, you’ll have to wait three hours before the next task is available.

When you’re able to continue, proceed to the Three Broomsticks to meet Andre.

Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

You’ll ask Andre about what happened with him and Brennan Doyle.

There are several ways this can play out. If you decided to confront Brennan, Andre will get temporarily suspended from the Ravenclaw Quidditch team for getting into a fight. So no matter which option you went with Madam Pomfrey, he won’t be able to participate in the next match.

Next, if you decided to tell Madam Hooch about Brennan, there are two ways that can play out. If you told Madam Pomfrey that a student got hit by the Conjunctivitis Curse, Andre will be forced to rest and he won’t be able to play in the next match. However, if you kept it a secret from Madam Pomfrey, Andre will get to play.

And lastly, if you decided to get revenge, Brennan Doyle will get injured, but he won’t tell anyone that Andre is responsible for it, so your friend will get to play in the next Quidditch match regardless of what you told Madam Pomfrey.

You’ll then ask Andre why this next match is so important. He’ll finally decide to open up and talk about it.

Listening to Andre requires earning five stars within eight hours. One star is needed to pass.

If you want to save some energy, prioritize actions related to Andre since there is a bonus progress action tied to him.

When you’re done, you’ll realize that Andre’s grandmother used to be a professional Quidditch player and she even played for Pride of Portree.

According to Andre, she doesn’t have much time left, so he wanted her to watch him play.

The following dialogue will be much different, depending on whether or not Andre is allowed to play the next Quidditch match.

Eventually, he’ll give you his lucky charm. This dialogue will also be different, depending on the choices you’ve made.

In the end, he’ll tell you that he really values your friendship, so the quest will end on a positive note.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 8 Gems and 1000 Experience Points.

Andre’s lucky charm will be added to your cosmetics collection.

This Side Quest was quite different. Hopefully, we’ll see more quests like this with multiple endings and different outcomes. Also, there’s no doubt that the outcome of this quest will be referenced in the future, so we’re likely to find out more about it soon enough.
